  1. You can also use Wael’s Wind when resting to get immunity to all Mind afflictions at the cost of -1 Dexterity.
  2. You can boost your tank’s AR as follows: +2 with the aura from the Hearth Defender’s Scale +1 Akola’s Apex Ward +1 Paladin’s Exalted Endurance Aura +2 Robust (Cipher ability or Lay on Hands Upgrade) I also had Eder use Refreshing Defense and Unbending Trunk, the latter which helped add passive healing along with Robust, Exalted Endurance, and Constant Recovery. Add in other buffs and possibly a Brilliant/Salvation of Time loop, and you should see a big difference.
  3. Sabres single damage type can be offset in part by getting the Animancer’s Blade, using Tuotillo’s Palm (counts as an unarmed weapon), activating the modal, or using abilities that decrease enemy armor or boost Pen (Fighters have a few). However, I think maces are worth looking at. The mace from Beast of Winter, Frostfall, does best of Crush/Freeze, and has some nice enchantments. The other two unique maces, the Magistrates Cudgel and Bardatto’s Luxury, should pair well with Frostfall.
  4. That line is available for the player to select at the end of the “interrupt the trial” conversation with the inquisitor. So hypothetically, the dialogue tree could be edited to allow that line to be said at the beginning of the conversation without any new voiceover.
  5. I think you could get away with just having an incredibly short conversation by letting a character that is a priest of Woedica and/or the Steel Garrote select this response at the beginning of the "interrupt the trial" conversation: "I bow to the court's judgment. Carry on." The line is already in the game, and so is the voiced response. But I am not sure how much fiddling with the game's dialogue files it would take to make such a change (or a mod that did the same thing). However, I am of the opinion that this is kind of a super niche issue, and not really a big deal.
  6. Do you have upward-only level scaling turned on before you start an encounter? That should help make the easier encounters more enjoyable, but only to a limited extent. The scaling will only increase the level of most generic enemies by +3, so if you are handling an area meant for a level 5 or so party, like some of the islands around Port Maje, it’s just going to be easy if you are level 11. If you start a new game, you can enable Galwain’s Challenge, which adds random new abilities to Beast-type enemies, which can help keep lower level encounters engaging. Regardless, most of Neketaka should still be within your level range at the moment, and the faction quests should also be fine. As far as the BoW DLC, you are definitely under the minimum recommended level for that DLC, which is level 14. Apparently the recommended levels in the journal are bugged at the moment. Not that you can’t beat that area at your level, it’s just going to far more difficult than usual. If you find that you do not have enough Pen during fights, make sure that you have upgraded the quality of your primary equipment. You should also check the AR for the enemy you are fighting, most enemies have two ARs that are a bit lower than the others, so you can switch to weapons that cause those types of damage. Modals can also help grant more Pen (stiletto, sword, estoc, warhammer), or lower the enemy’s armor (mace). Resting bonuses can grant additional Pen (Hot Razor Skewers for weapons, Crusted Swordfish for spells), there are tons of different abilities that can lower enemy AR, and Crits get bonus Pen if you just focus on substantially lowering enemy defenses. Abilities that deal Raw damage can also be used to mitigate high armor.
  7. There's a feature coming down the pipe, based on the beta patch at least, where you can accept the surrender of an enemy ship before engaging in combat, which results in the loss of reputation with the ship's assigned faction. I have not tested it out with the Rathun warships, but that's worth looking in to.
  8. This would be a nice touch, but I think they would have to add a new faction of "Unaligned Deadfire Slavers," to get around the reactivity of destroying the slaving operation at Crookspur. I think adding in some generic oddball ships would also be cool (ogre crews, undead crews, etc.).
  9. Cast Concelhaut's Crushing Doom on Nemnok at the start of the fight before he casts Arcane Reflection, or just hit Nemnok with other abilities that interrupt. He has a lot of HP, but offensively does not pose that much of a threat by himself.
  10. Anyone know if phrases are categorized as spells? If so, you could also boost the Pen with the Crusted Swordfish bonus, right?
  11. If only we could ambush a ship that was carrying a shipment of adra ban or other rare crafting materials.
  12. Yes, it does, but if you can take down the other sigils first, getting hit by Arcane Cleanse won’t be that big of a deal, especially if the mega boss has exhausted all of her spells.
  13. As far as I have seen, they do not carry unique loot. Still a decent way to make extra money if you need it.
  14. As an aside, you can temporarily shut down the Cleansing Sigil (and all the other sigils) during the Sigilmaster fight by targeting it with Arcane Dampener when it’s globe of invulnerability goes down.
  15. You can find more info about the beta patches here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/98360-beta-branch-access-steam-gog-galaxy/?do=findComment&comment=2076159
  16. Not sure when this was added in, but in the lower left corner of the inventory screen there is a Rabbit that lists Missing string 5173. However, when you hover over the missing string text, it breaks down your current action speed modifiers. It also lists conditional action speed modifiers like Rapid Casting.
  17. With the current beta patch installed, I found that Watery Double and Substantial Phantom appeared to have properly scaling accuracy bonuses (+57 from level), but Essential Phantom, Ondra's Whip, and Lashing Vine were not scaling properly.
  18. Just a guess on my part, but I think Minoletta is probably the closest to that kind of archetype in the setting, but that’s only based on her limited characterization during the scripted interaction in Arkemyr’s basement and the role that Josh is using her in for his tabletop campaign. Equal odds though that she is a missile obsessed psychopath that prolongs her life by devouring the souls of cosmic piglets.
  19. Being able to turn on -15 Deflection self-debuff can also be an asset if you use items that trigger when your character is hit by a crit (e.g., Crimson Panoply has a 50% chance to trigger Frenzy when the wearer is hit by a crit). Once you get the desired effect, turn off the modal.
  20. Spoilers, but here is a link to a screenshot from Reddit that shows the conversation that handsomenat is referring to: https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/8iafcs/didnt_expect_the_watchers_past_life_choices_to/
  21. Hauani o Whe's lowest defense is Deflection, so that was probably the problem as explosives target the other three defenses. There are plenty of ways to lower defenses that stack (weapon modals, abilities that lower defenses without applying an affliction, abilities that lower attributes without applying an affliction, and applying an affliction), and to increase your accuracy (equipment, consumables, and equipment). However, it is fair to say that you normally do not have to go through all of that rigmarole and worry about stacking debuffs and buffs to just land hits against enemies during the rest of the game, but I suppose that's why this only comes up during the mega boss fights.
  22. Two minor things I can think of: You can’t select the “Tempered Abydon” ending from the White March Part 2, and you can’t manually set your character’s past-life relationship with Iovarra.
  23. The large HP pools for the mega bosses is just another part of how each mega boss is a giant tactical puzzle, as the large HP pool necessitates a close eye on resource management for an extended battle. If their HP pools were too low, they would be easy to steamroll by stacking DoTs and raw damage. And in terms of player accommodation and accessibility, it is easy enough to lower the difficulty setting if someone just wants to "complete" the encounter. Overall, it seems about right to me.
