  1. The wiki is really developing nicely! I haven't had much time to edit it myself for a while, but I'll definitely be contributing more now that the game is out.
  2. I totally forgot about the Obsidian Order too until now! Given that it's been acknowledged in-universe now, I added it to the wiki: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Obsidian_Order
  3. In PE you are going to have a lot of choice regarding race, class but also culture you come from, so your specific background is likely to be left as tabula rasa.
  4. Modern reconstructions of neanderthals are pretty much what dwarves should look like. I'm sure most of you would believe if you were told this was concept art for a fantasy game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Homo_neanderthalensis_2_cogitas3d.png
  5. Indeed, although they do inherit some elven characteristics, such as longer lifespan than regular humans.
  6. There are no half-races not only in this game but in the Eternity universe as such. Unless there might possibly be some very rare and infertile interspecies hybrids, with high probability of genetic defects, like with hybrids among related species in the real world.
  7. I believe the franchise the new Black Isle is working on is likely Dark Alliance 3, as it's one of the few RPG franchises Interplay has left.
  8. No interbreeding doesn't mean no romances. After all, The Witcher's Geralt had quite a few of those, despite his sterility (or even thanks to it!). Interracial relations might, however, be considered taboo in various cultures.
  9. Yes, but this is irrelevant to Eternity anyway, since it doesn't have half-elves.
  10. I'd say Planescape: Torment and Arcanum for story and dialogue and Temple of Elemental Evil for challenging and fun combat.
  11. There are no half-elves nor half-orcs in Warhammer either. Interestingly, there are few fantasy universes with half-dwarves. And while they do exist in D&D, AFAIK they are common only in the Dark Sun setting, and are infertile, which means that while D&D elves and humans are races of the same species, dwarves are a related but separate species.
  12. I wasn't talking about similarity of genotype but of phenotype. And the neanderthals fit the stereotype of dwarves in most aspects, with them being shorter but stronger than Homo sapiens.
  13. And Homo sapiens sapiens did interbreed with the Neanderthals, who were as different from us as dwarves or elves are.
  14. In Eternity, magic and technology are not inherently opposing forces, unlike Arcanum. So I don't see why enchanted firearms wouldn't be possible.
  15. I actually asked Josh Sawyer about this a while back. Interbreeding between races in Project Eternity is impossible (which actually makes them separate species in modern terms).
  16. It might not be a "natural progression" generally speaking, but the societies in most generic fantasy settings do tend to be based on Europe. And Europe was not in perpetual middle ages for thousands of years.
  17. I liked the timed conversations in Alpha Protocol, but I don't think that system would fit Project Eternity. And I'm sure the devs don't either. It's a very different kind of game.
  18. I would gladly back a Kickstarter project from Chris Taylor and Mark O'Green, but I'd prefer it to be done outside Interplay. Maybe inXile and Obsidian should pool their money to buy the Black Isle trademark from Herve, if only to spare it from being used for crappy games?
  19. Here are the female characters we know so far: http://eternitywiki.com/Cadegund http://eternitywiki.com/Sagani
  20. I only wonder why Chris Taylor and Mark O'Green are still staying at Herve's Interplay, even after the cancellation of their Fallout Online (which was doomed from the start).
  21. I think the concept art of Sagani and Cadegund (at least the second version of the latter) look OK in that regard.
  22. I run the Eternity Wiki and I certainly won't claim that any entry is too detailed.
