  1. ^Awesome! Keep the board from going dry! I'm supposed to write an essay on The Death of a Salesman for Monday, 2000 words. So far I've only found some discussions on ethinicity and ghosts for secondary sources, but I guess I'll make an essay out of this sooner or later. If anyone feels like pitching in, please do. I can't quote any text that's not published in an academic premier for instance, but ideas are always nice.
  2. Just a note: If some of you are not watching Amatsuki yet, they should. It's shaping up nicely and the fantasy play on Bakumatsu era is just great. There are echoes of Juuni Kokki and Irohanihoheto there, but I'm getting a strong Seirei no Moribito feel as well, although the themes could hardly be more dissimilar.
  3. Minced chicken meat made into balls, right Gortho?
  4. Yoko Kanno(and Ilaria Graziano and Origa, I bet) - Date of Rebirth Solid State Society Soundtrack
  5. He probably meant Invisible War.
  6. The only one I remember hearing in the past was their version of "Wicked Games" (which blew Chris Isaaks version away). An old CD with Apocalyptica (which I mostly got for their covers of old Metallica classics) is all I have with Finnish bands :blush10: Hmm... Finnish rock music, that *would* be an unusual soundtrack for a game Isaaks supposedly thanked Valo for the great cover. You have to face it that there's been a wealth of horrible covers of "Wicked Game", so I guess I understand the old guy. I have that Apocalyptica cd as well. Man, it's a small world.
  7. The hooded guy will decrease the energy cell cost of fueling your car, IIRC. He's always been there in my games. I remember Merk as well, but I've never taken his missions.
  8. My mother bought a collector's edit of the HIM collected singles album for herself last year. It was pretty decent. but I liked the band more before the whole love metal sellout. I do admit that it's nice everyone and their granny listens to it here. Or used to. As for Sonata Arctica, Kakko has a good voice and did a great duet for Nightwish's Astral Romance(2001 version) That's about it. And that's about it for me and symphonic metal as well. And me and off-topic.
  9. I can't believe Archie actually knew the romanization of the "song". Macross F is still awesome, even though it spawned that.
  10. lol wikipedia. In a nutshell, Vincent was created before the weakness struck into other of his kind. And the Amrite cells are highly adaptable.
  11. If you seriously let the choice of gender limit you in a game genre as asexual as 3rd person action games...I mean, you can just about imagine the main character being female, seeing as he has just about no characterization. Force Unleashed is not a roleplaying game, you could just as well be playing a robot with force powers who is just called "Vader's apprentice" ffs. Don't let the lack of choice in terms of gender limit you, I'm sure the game would play identically no matter if the character model had boobs or not. Just enjoy the storm trooper mayhem!
  12. Rabbit Junk - Crutch Digital hardcore. These guys did one song on Gits: Stand Alone Complex soundtrack, kinda bummed now that I'm listening to their other works. Different, kinda listenable.
  13. Zoma! Don't fall into the japtard trap! The downward spiral of eroge and fanboyism will kill you, believe me, I own a copy of Tsukihime and Fate/Stay-Night! Hang in there!

  14. I have to say that I actually liked the Belgarath book somewhat, even though I read it years after the two trilogies. Althalus was actually pretty good, which surprised me. That new series however...I think I made 40 pages into the first book and then woke up an hour later. Fortunately I've never actually bought any Eddings books.
  15. I kind of like the art direction, actually. I think it looks fresh. Guys, it's fantasy art, I don't expect H
  16. I was doing that pitbull trick already, heh. Thanks Deraldin. Now to just hope that the AI doesn't change the unit composition it throws through the northern gates into armour. Am screwed were that to happen. Hell, it seems I'm still kind of buffed over this game.
  17. Yeah, I like Lovecraft's little circle(Howard, Derleth, Lovecraft, etc) for that same thing - they are great for reading on the hurry or just spending that odd hour, but they'll swallow you if you let them. Don't mind the chronologies, or any of my posts for that matter. I'm a nut when it comes to old pulp lit of the period. Just enjoy.
  18. I'm playing on Normal. I have to say that it's not any exact problem I'm having. Instead I just do not seem to have the patience for mauling the Temple. If you do decide to got through the mission for me, then I do thank you. I just don't know what kind of help I would need. The worst problem I seem to face currently is that of defence. The AI is rather nice for an RTS and seems to look for holes in my defence, which means that if I a) make the initial base more central on the map and circle the tib field with it in order to protect my economy, there's soon rocket militia and fanatics sneaking in the back and I have like three directions to defend, but if I b) make the base to the edge of the map, nod armour attacks my harvesters constantly. I'll try the firehawk strategy once I'm home, it sounds like something I should have come up with. Maybe 8 firehawks to start with, and once most of the facilities are down, ergo the tide of black hands is down for the moment, bring in the death metal. I have a central base save where the situation isn't too dire yet(no shadows yet), but there I haven't taken the northern tib field though. Will probably restart. The pen them in -idea is good as well, with some Rigs, as it would move the fighting away from the tib zones and my bases. Edit: I can't believe I'm this stumbled on a C&C game. Well, just about a whole new dev team and all, but still...
  19. Does Bioware have the "mantle of Lordship over CRPGs" right now? What is that anyway? Technical innovation is nice, but I have not cared two zits over Bioware's rpgs ever since they started to remake the same story in a new setting. I concede that Mass Effect was a good effort, but there they instead decided to shamelessly rip off Alastair Reynolds, which wasn't a very polite thing to do to be honest. It did make for a very refreshing villain and a nice premise, just not ones that were of Bioware's own design. I give Bioware one thing, if I want fries with my rpg-burger, they provide. I go into an entirely different restaurant for something beyond the ordinaire. Are you a fanboy? Yep. Did you write this on a competing company's board fully aware it would have to contain fanboys? Yep...in fact you did it intentionally to stir us up.
  20. I'm with pixies. Srsly now. I've been following Age of Decadence since it was 2D, back then it was mostly my post-Avernum 2 withdrawals that drew me to the, rather decent-looking, 2D crpg. I had heard that the project was some kind of "bet you I can make a turnbased crpg that compares to the classics"-show off idea initially, but I didn't pay it much mind since my world was a vast plain of no indie crpgs back then. Now that I've actually heard those same rumors again, I give them even less ear. I remember being revolted by the change to 3D, mostly thanks to how ****ing bland it looked from the get-go, but after they got their design in gear, enviroments gained shadows and the writing began to show from amidst forum sneak peeks, I sort of fell in love again. Now it is a matured love. One that has been rejected by Avernum 4 god-awful art direction and given new gusto by the rise of other new indy projects. Please bring it on. Totally Lady Deirdre Skye.
  21. Was that the Temple Prime mission? Yeah, Temple Prime as GDI. I do fine till Nod techs up to mass shadow teams and black hands. Then it becomes an exercise in tedium. I got as far as to the first ion protection field last time, but my forces were too spread(basically a long queue of Mammoths) and I was swarmed by beam cannons and a couple of avatars. I don't feel like doing it all over again, but I want to see the missions in chronological order and am trying to hold up playing further as Nod(in Sarajevo as well). It's too bad because I thought the previous Eastern Europe missions were superb as GDI goes.
  22. He did a couple. I read the translations and the characters were as inconsistent as heck. Pretty much the only feature of Conan Jordan got right was that he was a mad swordsman. For Hurlie, if you are looking for some chronology in your reading, you'll find that this is a decent one. However, it's a good rule of thumb, if the link was tl.dr, to start with anything where Conan is a young thief, like Tower of the Elephant, proceed to stories about the South and piracy, then read all the tomb-raiding and pioneering and end with his latter days as the king of Aquilonia, in Hour of the Dragon.
  23. Damn Tiberium Wars, I give up. I can't get through that Sarajevo mission no matter what. I just don't have the patience to roll out yet another wave of Mammoths and watch them slowly get shredded to pieces thanks to horrible path-finding and atrociously quick game speed. Ugh, **** it. I'm installing Red Alert 2. Edit: No wait, Hostile Waters it is!
  24. lol at anakin, total uke material there.
