  1. The blacksmith really gets worse as you level up, since your equipment will constantly be more and more tailored to your character, while the blacksmith's will still be totally random. If you have a piece of armor with one property you find useful, it might still be worth it to smith one with 3 random properties, but when you have armor with 2 properties you want, making one with 4 random starts being pretty pointless, especially with the extremely high prices. Hopefully the price lowering will make him interesting again. The jeweler sort of seems useful, but you should remember that the equipment drops always have higher stats bonuses than the gems at a particular level, so unless you only want to buff one stat (granted, many characters will), you're better of without sockets. Weapon and Helm slots seem to be always useful, though.
  2. Melee classes should also consider using Amethysts on weapons to get the Life on hit -property. Very useful, especially on the higher levels. The AMA in question is probably this one: http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/uoooj/i_am_we_are_wyatt_cheng_andrew_chambers_and_jay/
  3. On the topic of hacks, here's a funny one (well, sort of): http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/uovpp/accidentally_discovered_item_chat_link_code/ Other people can use it to crash your client if you click their item links.
  4. I love the new 103 changes to item drops on inferno. With the current drop rates, AH just saves so much time it becomes almost a necessity to use it. At least feels that way for Barbarians and Monks. It'll also make it easier to actually play Inferno with Hardcore characters.
  5. Don't read too much into that last scene. It won't be a big deal for some time. If they go by the books, anyhow.
  6. Apparently horses are still very costly to use.
  7. The most common complaint about DA2 probably was/is "it's not like DA:O!". Of course, this doesn't really amount to anything but "I didn't like it", so it's kinda hard to answer it. With anything but marketinglish, anyway.
  8. Rather than being "steps back", they were more like choices made by the developers. - For the armors and equipment, they decided to prioritize the unique look of followers over customizing. Apparently lots of people didn't like this, so in DA3 they're trying to do both. I don't really care, as long as I can customize something; but I did prefer unique looks on followers as opposed to DA:O where everyone just looked the same. - For reused levels, they thought people would prefer more quests over graphics. They were wrong. - I'm not 100% sure what "decisions that matter" refers to, but I'm guessing the end game in DA2 where you were basically forced into a neutral position. Seeing how BIO handled ME3 I'm not really that hopeful. The end game thing is the only one that was a clear problem; the other two are matters of preference or prioritization.
  9. The various new status effects - disoriented, staggered, brittle - have negative effects of their own, without comboing. Brittle increases critical damage by 50%, for instance. Personally, I never felt the need to use them, even on Nightmare. *shrug*
  10. Apparently, DA3 will take place in Orlais. I'm not sure if I'll be able to stand all the french accents, they annoying enough in MotA.
  11. None of the NPCs hit on you proactively. You have to always be the one to start it. The confusion for Anders probably stems from him being the only where you can start it with the Diplomatic option, as opposed to the Romance option (the heart one). Said option does read "I'll do anything for you" though, so if you bother reading what you choose you'll be able to avoid it. I obviously can't discount the existence of a bug, but I've never seen anyone actually detail it out, so my bets are on the above.
  12. Huh, new party member. I wonder if they'll add as much banter to the old ones as recent BIO games have. <.>
  13. I'm also interested in DA3. I think they've already said no to that (It's not going to be Hawke or the Warden either). DA2's lack of "epicness" was one of the major complaints, so it's probably going to be the whole of existance in danger again.
  14. It seems to be this forum is full of grumpy old men. I mean, I agree with most of the problems people here have with BIO's games, but I still like them enough to enjoy playing them. What's wrong with you people?
  15. Hi We talked about this on a separate thread already, but I decided to make a new one so those interested wouldn't miss the info. The news is: the executive producer for the DA franchise posted on the BIO forums, talking about the future of the franchise. Most importantly, the following things are confirmed: a) No more DLCs or expansions for DA2. Possibly patches. b) They are working on a new DA game. If you have an account there, definitely check the developer posts: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/260/index/10245444&lf=8
  16. It's also a pretty straight confirmation of DA3.
  17. Well, they need to reboot the universe for the next game, so they can do a completely unrelated game with the Mass Effect name!
  18. Bioware says "yes". Players say "hmmm", because there's some conflicting information. In any case, the endings don't differ that much from each other, so I wouldn't worry.
  19. Here's something I never noticed during my run, only read it on bio forums: you can use the map to check for all levels of Citadel/Normandy, not just the one you're on. Would have saved me alot of time searching for stuff/characters.
  20. Hmm, wiki says you have to play a new game, importing an ME3 character, to get levels 6-10.
  21. You can only upgrade them to V But, to answer your question, the weapons have differing stats, even at high levels. The Spectre weapons, while very high cost, aren't _that_ much better than the weapons you find; they're just well rounded.
  22. Oh? I've gotten at least 2 or 3 romantic scenes with her, up to that point. And they were decently done too. I got the impression they put more effort to it, myself. Sounds like the game is playing itself more. Is it only the Normandy or is there more Party Banter as well out in the field? Yes, in the field as well, including unique cutscenes on missions. Several of the NPCs will also hang out in various places on the Citadel, when you go there.
  23. The Day-1 DLC's quest is short, and not very interesting. The squadmate on the other hand, is. He also has a lot of dialogue in various cutscenes on other missions. Diana Allers doesn't seem to have alot of dialogue, but you can have sex with her. Dunno if she has more after you do, I passed up on it. EDIT: On that note, all the NPCs on Normandy have waaayyy more dialogue than they did in ME1 or 2. Including dialogue with each other, as opposed to just with Shepard.
  24. I'm pretty sure enemy engineers can't place a another turret before the current one gets destroyed. Agree about the quest logging. Too often I just end up having to trump through all areas until I find the thing I'm looking for. This is especially annoying for quests that basically say "go to planet X!", but don't even tell what system it's in... For the Hanar quest, you need to check the terminals in the embassies, presidium commons and docking bay loading area, then head back to the embassies.
