I imported an Awakening save, and all my stuff imported correctly... I did check the import flags with the console, and some of them were wrong, but whether this is because of a bug or because those flags are not used anyway, hard to say. Until someone digs deeper into the files, that is. BTW, the game also imports stuff from DA:O DLC, most importantly a quest from Warden's keep. Also, FYI, the game currently doesn't import anything from With Hunt or Golems of Amgarrakrkrkarkrk. That isn't a bug.

I vastly prefer the Hammerhead. For one simple reason: optional.

It's weak, plot-wise. There's only a few characters in it, some not at all interesting, and some used really badly. You can't take your squad members with you. It has some neat mini-gamey stuff though, but just a little. Basically, more of the same. How can you answer that without spoilers? I'd assume it does try to bridge to ME3, but not knowing what all ME3 is going to do, I can't be sure. Here's the plot with spoilers, for anyone interested:

So... Arrival. Is not worth it.

Your class doesn't change the options in that part. Anyway, all companions get special dialogue options; it's in no way limited to Varric. That reviewer doesn't know what he's talking about.

That's because you're _halfway_ through it. The ending is kinda disappointing, after Act 2. Too bad it's buggy for you. I went through with only one crash in 30 hours, and had only one bug... the only one that seems to be universal.

Wait... wait... wait... free? I got a day one copy... a pre-ordered day one copy. I got the black emporium free. Are you saying I just wasted $7 bucks for the Prince...? Edit: Just looked it up. It would have come free if you pre-ordered the Signature edition. I didn't. I still say this content should have been released with the main game, or with any standard pre-order copy at least. There's another logic to it as well. The game goes to content-lock a few months before release, first for testing and then, after it goes gold, for preparation of release. During that time, the developer is free to work on other stuff, including day 1 patches, DLCs, or whatever. Whether you think the DLC is worth the money is your call. I personally don't think it is.

I disagree too, I liked most of them, and really only disliked Sebastian who was just too zealous. Part of it is at least because you don't have to listen to them pour out their life's story at camp. Much more showing instead of telling.

Yes they do.

I think the noses look ugly. Otherwise I like them. And yeah, they released pics of the new elf design some time before release.

The bug in Merril's quest in Act 3 seems to be the only major bug so far. But it is kinda nasty. Basically, the scene with Merril that should play at the end of the quest, is played first in Act 3, before the quest even starts. There's been a bunch of other bugs people are reporting on the Bio forums, but this seems to be the only one that is universal. The others seem to be platform or condition dependant. People on the DA wikia are also saying some abilities don't seem to work as described, but haven't done any in-depth research so far.

1. There are minor differences, as in who lubd u frvr and ever, and so on, but in general it's just one. All the story heavy C&C is really in Acts 2 and 3, not in the ending as such.
-
I think that they had that in mind before DA2, Witchhunt was quite a bit of foreshadowing to this end. A Bio dev said that when they started DA2, they had two ideas in mind as a general concept; one easy to do, and one hard to do. They ended up choosing the hard one for DA2. I assume a follow-up to all the foreshadowing would be the easy one.
-
This is stat dependant, strength IIRC. Your warriors shouldn't be getting interrupted cosntantly, but your mages probably will... if you let enemies get close to them. Interrupting enemies is possible... I did it all the time vs mages with my Hawke as warrior. Stat dependant too, I'd assume. And difficulty level, I'd guess.

I wonder how much players would have been bothered by the recycling of maps, if Bioware had edited the maps to contain only the areas you can reach.
-
I'd say in some other game, seems to be beyond DA2's scope.
-
Finished the game. A few additional thoughts. Didn't like the ending that much. Maybe it feels different if I choose different options. Quests in Act 2 and 3 were probably the best stuff, storywise. I guess it's a rush job, when you have to recycle the end boss. Well, ok, the end battles had new enemies too, but that was kinda cheesy. Lots of foreshadowing of the next DA game... or whatever the next installment in the setting is going to be.

It's a quest. Read your journal.

The weapon type restrictions don't really limit how you develop your character and companions that much, because the majority of abilities are in trees not restricted to a specific weapon type. The only major restriction really, is that Warriors don't have any ranged option.
-
Have you tried changing the Behavior box at the top of the Tactics screen? There are. The game tracks your choices, and will provide extra options to solve situations, if you have used specific choices enough. Peaceful solution, etc. I dunno the exact math on how this works.

Frankly.... I don't get what all the bad rep is about. Bashing DA2 seems to have become some sort of internet phenomena. Obviously, the game has it's problems, and I'm sure more will pop out when people look at the game files closer. But the difference to DA:O isn't that big, and there's lots of good stuff in the game. Critique is due, but the overall quality isn't bad enough to bash it to the ground. It's definitely a Bioware-quality game (whatever that means to you). If one didn't dislike DA:O, I see no reason not to buy DA2.

Does it really involve ? I hope that
-
It does seem like that to me, actually. That it has way better choice & consequence stuff than any previous game. Of course, it's really hard to tell until you've played it through at least twice to try all the other options, and I've yet to complete it once. Like I said in the previous thread, it's slow to start. You won't see any serious C&C stuff until you're 15+ hours in (assuming you do all sidequests).
-
Isn't that kinda contradictory? If you know about the good stuff before hand, then you won't enjoy finding them out in the game. Plus they're not nearly as good written down. In any case, a few examples. 1: Qunari philosophy. I rather like the stuff. If you hated everything Sten said in DA:O, you probably won't like them this time around either, though. 2: A more specific example, the one I've liked the most so far. I'd advise against reading, but you asked for it. Obviously, this might play a bit differently depending on what you choose.
