  1. Actually, as I understand it, that is the Exile's effect over her as you gain influence. It works the same way if you play DS. Your LS characters become more evil.
  2. I didn't look through the entire thread, but this may be a new glitch. Lightside Consular/Watchman in the cave on Korriban. I beat the shades of Kreia, my group, and Revan, got the speech about it being a reflection of my past and a possible look into the future, blah, blah. I get a lightsaber. I open the tomb, walk in and inspect/loot the body. The tomb doors close again while I'm inside. I can still get to the selection area to reopen the tomb, and I do. Once I do, Kreia contacts a second time, giving me the same past/future speech. When it was over, I got a second (short) lightsaber. Sum up: The glitch was getting the second dialog and lightsaber.
  3. I personally wouldn't call it close, not even with "sorta's", "kinda's" or "almost's". The Essential Guide for Droids shows this rendition of a Basilisk:
  4. It is - maybe. In KotOR 1 this situation was a loose, not a win. All card slots full = you loose. Either they changed the pazaak rules for KotOR 2, or it is a bug. I lost several pazaak games which I would have won in KotOR 1 - so I guess it's possible they changed the rules... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. I too had lost on that account in the first game, and thus therefore assumed that the rules would be the same in the sequel... though I'll have to admit that not once did I look at the rules in KotOR II... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I remember winning that way in KotOR1 on at least 1 occasion.
  5. Alright. Thought I read that (about keeping the abilities you picked) somewhere.
  6. Not that I need to do this, I'm just experimenting. I beat the game once just fine. In my most recent game, I have not leveled up Kreia since level 4. So, she's got about 50HP and 4 force powers. I never really needed her after Telos. Anyways, I'm sure when I face her on Malachor V, she'll have hundreds of HPs, but I thought I read somewhere that she uses the force powers you give her during the game. ... Does this mean I'm might get hit by a Stun, or something low-level, making it far easier than my first game when she started hitting me with some very painful Life Drain?
  7. Its just a plot device. By having the battle start and you being forced to land on Dxun instead of Onderon, you are forced into the situation of helping Mandalore and investigating your past (as Kreia says, Dxun is where the Mandalorian War began, the Exile fought there).
  8. yeah, this game has proven to be a distraction for me. Time really flies when I play this game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Every game I enjoy playing does this to me. Back about 4-5 years ago, Star Wars Rebellion did this to me. I'd get home around noon from college, start up the game and I'd be playing until dinner. Then I'd pause it and come back after dinner and play for a few more hours.
  9. IF the files are formatted similarly to the one's in KotOR1, the following works: 1. Download the DB PowerAmp music converter 2. Backup audio files or copy them to another folder 3. Rename sound file(s) to have a .mp3 extension instead of .wav 4. Using PowerAmp, covert these files from MP3 to WAV format. 5. Double-click. They should play normally in whatever software you want. 6. *Optional* You can now convert the files back to MP3 format and play them normally as well.
  10. This is what I do as well. Just grab the explosives and blow the door.
  11. Perhaps in game voice-acting, but not overall. Biggest name involved with KotOR 1 has to be Frank Welker. Yes, bigger than Ed Asner or Phil LaMarr. Welker can be heard as: Orbity from The Jetsons Fred Jones (Freddy) From Scooby-Doo Jabberjaw Dynomutt 5 different Smurfs 4 different G.I.Joe characters Dr. Claw on Inspector Gadget Stripe/other Mogwai/other Gremlins in Gremlins 23 different Transformers 3 Muppet Babies Duck Tales, Ghostbusters (cartoon), several Disney movies (voice of Abu from Aladdin), Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Captain Planet, Mighty Max, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, Freakazoid, Dexter's Laboratory, etc.
  12. Favorite Armor: Jal Shey Advisor Armor I my first game, I had this stuff by the end of my first choosen planet (after Telos), which was Dxun/Onderon. I usually add a Biorestorative Underlay and whatever Overlay I can find to fit it.
  13. I'm bored, so I fell like starting a random discussion: What's your favorite _________? Favorite force power: Force Scream-tree No matter what kind of character I have, I use this power. It let's me keep Force Whirlwind for immobilizing an opponent (I actually DON'T like Force Wave). It deals damage, it keeps my enemies close and it reduces their stats, making them easier to kill. Force Wave deals damage, but it pushes enemies away, making you run after them to attack. When you could be attacking, instead you're running to get in range of an enemy. Favorite animation: My Guardian/Watchman, after I gave him a second saber, started doing this. On Master Flurry, he'd take the sabers, and kind of figure-8 them through enemies (but with more loops). I noticed it particularly if the enemy was under the effects of stasis/stun. Favorite NPC: Probably Bao-Dur. If you build him up enough, he makes an effective fighter, and his skills are amazing. Also, he brings along the remote, which practically gives you another blaster.
  14. I think it was "Eat Schutta"....maybe that would explain something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The phrase was "E Chu Ta". I believe it is Huttese, and according to the Star Wars phrasebook, the translation is not suitable for a mass-market book/audience.(Note: I found that phrasebook explanation online, however I have a copy of the book at home. I shall double-check it when I have a chance.) My guess as to the translation is that there probably isn't one that would make sense to us. Its just a cultural gap we cannot cross.
  15. I've had a bug where, even if I give an attack order, the PC just stands there taking hits from the enemy. Usually, to try and fix this, I cancel combat completely and restart. Sometimes even then it doesn't work.
  16. I hope they offer it as a stand-alone download in addition to download through the game interface. I've only got a 56K modem at home...doing 20MB downloads is a pain. But I've got T1 access from work and a 4GB USB drive to store stuff on.
  17. Rapid aging is an effect of use of the dark side. DS kind of burns you out, so to speak. If you investigate the comic book collections called Dark Empire and Dark Empire II, we learn that Palpatine had a number of clones of himself. Once one body got too old for him to use, he'd use a Sith force method to transfer himself into a new body. He kept a storehouse of fresh, young bodies in a citadel on the planet Byss.
  18. I have a kind of similar problem. Its not that I feel petulant and snotty vs. cold and manipulative. Its that I, in general, am a good person, and being evil just doesn't come naturally. I had the same trouble playing KotOR 1. Out of my 7 games, I was onlyevil twice (see signature).
  19. My mouse isn't terribly sensitive, but I'm with Gman2, I just prefer the keyboard. Let me map the jump to ALT and the gear shift to SPACE, and I'll actually try the Swoop Races.
  20. I just have to say this: Hopefully, its not coming SoonTM*. *- SoonTM is a term originating from an amateur Star Wars simulation called Star Wars Combine. It began when a new game function was promised, saying it "would be done soon", but the function was finished and added 6 months after the initial statement. SoonTM was a term developed as a way to say that something could be ready anywhere from 5 minutes to 6 months from now.
  21. Ahhh...I wondered why it seemed like I wasn't getting enough of a bonus from that crystal. Too late for me to fix in my current game, but now that I know...
  22. I've never heard this said before. What I found peculiar about that, is that if Lucas supports KotOR as being more than EU, by referencing EU in the game, isn't he, by extension, supporting EU as well? Know what I mean? (Hypothetically, what if Thrawn appeared in EP3. You could say that Lucas, by including an book character in the movie, is acknowledging that book, making it more canon than it was previously.)
  23. Most of my first game was with a single green saber (well, when I got it I mean). I eventually changed to purple. For Darth Nihilius, I added a purple short-saber, and I've stuck that way since. But I'm disapppointed because I didn't get any non-KotOR color crystals (cyan) until after I left what I'm guessing was the last of the workbenches.
  24. On the contrary, as I recall, there was far more detail to KotOR videos. I believe I run both games at 1024x768, and I see a massive difference. Maybe I'll do some screen grabs and compare them.
