  1. Tyranny is set during the bronze age, Pillars of Eternity are in the Renaissance/Early Modern period. No way they are happening concurrently. Even if the universes were the same, Tyranny would be happening at the time of the Engwithans, if not earlier.
  2. You mean, bronze swords actually look like real bronze age swords? Amazing, I know! https://gizmodo.com/this-3-000-year-old-bronze-age-sword-is-absolutely-incr-1792434329
  3. True, but there is no difference between what the Rauataians want you to do and what they want Maia to do.
  4. The former are military/navy and the latter are innocent civilians? There are no bounties to murder civilian targets, or political figures. Except queen Onekaza
  5. It's Obsidian. Be thankful that wearing a hat doesn't break the main quest, as it happened with a certain other Bugsidian game on release.... Or that double clicking on an item in your inventory would make that item disappear forever, like in PoE1 on release (anyone remember that bug?)
  6. Also, the Steward was an adra statue- adra being the material for holding souls. So, it's fairly easy to transfer souls to adra, as the game shows you repeatedly. It's much harder to transfer souls to a metal construct and have them intact, as opposed to just some essence powering a metal robot (like the other construct). Possibly the only thing harder is to transfer them into another body- we know how THAT turned out.
  7. You mean, other than the stacking boost to recovery on hit, up to -20% recovery, so it eventually matches dual wield-recovery rates while being able to attack multiple opponents? That sword is the best weapon in the game, bar none. And you can get it for 3000 gold as soon as you reach Neketaka. It's insane. It's still bugged afaik, so you can only get it if you put it in your game yourself. I'll just wait, my current character is a devoted fighter with longswords anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it really isnt bugged tho. Are you supposed to get the sword fragments if you forged the sword in the first game or if you left the parts you found from PoE1? Because if you choose in generator you did not reforge the sword the parts are present on your ship. Ive tried three different self made PoE 1 savestates every savestate I choose i didnt reforge the wep I have the sword parts on the ship That's the bug. In my PoE1 game, I reforged the sword, and the fragments were there. The swords are in pieces because Eothas broke them, if you hadn't reforged them, the games assumes they're still in the Endless Paths somewhere (except there are no more Endless Paths now).
  8. Make a custom party formation putting them in the back row. Give them protective spells (Arcane veil and other deflection raising spells for Aloth), and park them on AOE heal spells like Moonwell. Give them items to raise their deflection so the AI targets them less. Raise their athletics skill to give them Second Wind (or whatever that heal is called).
  9. I got 3 random encounters in Neketaka so far 1) The girl being attacked by the Skuldr 2) Arsonists setting fires 3) Principi trying to sell you a figurine, then ambushing you.
  10. It's still very useful for taking a powerful opponent out of the fight. I've just been going through Arkemyr's mansion, and thanks to Whisper of Treason, instead of fighting 3 Iron Constructs at once, I was fighting one, while the other two stood around like idiots occasionally helping me by throwing a punch at the construct I was ganging up on

I'll just wait, my current character is a devoted fighter with longswords anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Nope, it's there if you import a PoE1 save file. It's only bugged if you use the story generator. I've never had any problems getting it.

  13. So, apparently, Whispers of the Endless Paths applies Soul Annihilation to every single target in the AOE cone, but also gives focus backs from the attacks after the first. At level 8, my Psyblade was able to one-shot three pirates in a single hit and still get 50 focus back? I'm not sure if it's an actual bug or working as intended, but it's insanely overpowered right now. For a melee cipher, there is absolutely no reason to use anything else.
  14. You mean, a wiki that is done by random people on a web forum contains inaccuracies? Who knew? But honestly, it seems that the problem here is not bad writing, but bad reading comprehension.
  15. All gods being massive hypocrites and their attributes having nothing to do with how their act is.. *drum roll* .. is bad writing. The attributes of the gods are not fancy letters on their robes. They reflect their personalities. You don't read Greek mythology and then about how Athena was a pupil with "special needs" in school. Either gods really do have some attribute, or others believe they do, and thus they are considered a "god of x", but here neither is the case. Alright, thanks. So tl;dr version is that Eothas is a sort of a good guy who is trying to destroy the Wheel, or at least he's better than the others. If I remember correctly, in the end you can convince him to destroy Eora as well, although he doesn't like that idea (which makes me like him less. Still, that means there's at least one "good" / semi-good god. As for Eder, I suppose I'm being too harsh on him because he's just a farmboy. What does he knows of the gods. He thinks "god of life and rebirth.. oh that must mean he wants everyone to live.. but then what can be reborn uh.. my head hurts." and "rebirth hmm.. does that include destruction of one world and creation of another.. ah I should lay off metaphysics and go tend my fields" and furthermore "oh god of life, so he must like the necromancers because they make sure things are always alive.. sort of". Ah Eder.. you are a fine punching bag as pure Fighter, just let the others do the thinking. Yes, well Athena is a "real" god, and Eoran gods are just giant soul-robots created by the Engwithans. They have absolutely no bearing on the actual thing they claim to be a god of- i.e. justice existed long before Woedica, and will continue to exist long after she's gone. The only god that seems to be actually connected to something is Berath, because she is in charge of the big reincarnation machine that the Engwithans built. Discovering that the gods are impostors is literally the plot of PoE1, so if you didn't finish it, you missed it.
  16. Had you finished the first game, you would know that you had to make a promise to a god to reach the boss. And "and thus for example Woedica seems to be a goddess of justice but she doesn't act like it at all, not in the least (bad writing is what it is)." Is not bad writing- all the gods are massive hypocrites and are portrayed that way. It's even stated outright in the first game that despite being the goddess of justice, Woedica is the goddess who is most willing to break her own rules (just as Rymrgand wants to annihilate all souls- except the souls of his followers that sustain him- those he preserved forever, thus denying them the Nirvana they seek).
  17. The lift only stays there for 12 hours, as the overseer warns you.
  18. Durance was written by Chris Avellone, and Avellone is no longer with Obsidian, so it's highly unlikely Durance will make a comeback
  19. Well, that's what they get for blabbing about the gods where others (like Iovara) could overhear them
  20. I haven't played either of those two games, so that's not a discussion I can contribute to EDIT: Well, ok, I played the PoE2 beta, but that's hardly a meaningful game experience
  21. Good point. I concur. I had a similarly funky experience with Kana. I was convinced that making him see both the good and the bad of Engwithans would be the best outcome for him, and the story seemed to follow that train of thought. At the end of the game, I really enjoyed the point he made to Thaos' face about Engwith being a cautionary tale-slash-case study for the younger cultures and not something to be venerated blindly. Then the ending slides start to roll, and I'm all ready to be proud of my fancy-hatted, shark-toothed boy. But no, he ended up being some kind of hobo philosopher with zero academic relevance. What? I suppose this is only fitting with PoE's insistence on avoiding definite answers and definite endings, but boy was I confounded. Doubly so when I discovered later that the best outcome for Kana basically requires the player to forge a false narrative based on the completely worthless tablets and omit everything negative the Builders have ever done - or, in other words, to have your resident scientist man present blatant lies before one of the most prestigious lore colleges in the world. Talk about a rollercoaster of unexpected events. That depends on your definition of "best." Is Pallegina's best ending the one where she is honored by her ducs for sacrificing her own principles? Or the one where for the first time in her life she stands up for herself and does what SHE thinks is right, and suffers the consequences for it?
  22. The way I see it, "Might" refers to the power of your soul. I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned somewhere that warrior classes get their superhuman fighting skills from the might of their souls.
  23. It makes sense. In PoE2, the banter is based on the relationship system (so you don't get the standard dialogues of PoE, but multiple versions depending on how the characters feel about each other). Sidekicks are not included in the relationship system, so they cannot have banters. Giving them banters would involve including them into the relationship system, and that would make them full companions.
