  1. It's not as bad in KOTOR2 as in Deus Ex 2 though...
  2. Yup. Any way for us Merkins to get the high-res music?
  3. I've just patched the game and there's nothing in the readme about higher resolution movies or music. It was also 11.2mb in size, not 16.
  4. I would actually say the Exile since s/he truly uses the force and is not used by it. However, failing that then Revan, Yoda, and Vader in that order.
  5. Proud Recital: The HK series of protocol droids have fully opposable thumbs designed to emulate a plethora of organic meatbag abilities. Querying Response: The only chopper in this area, Drabek unit, is the vibroaxe oh so near your behavior core. Mockery: Oh dear! That vibroaxe fell out of my hand, and damaged the Drabek unit, Master. What an unfortunate predicament...
  6. Though a KOTOR movie wouldn't work well due to the amount of plot that would have to be cut, etc. doing prequel games would work. To an extent I was surprised that The Sith Lords wasn't turned into "Episode V" of Knights of the Old Republic. The way the story is written, making a war against 'The True Sith' last for four games would be dragging it out. However, concluding the story with the next game and then having a prequel trilogy would work well. Episode one deals with Revan's training and adventures as a padawan. Revan's unorthodox training and journeys lead to his discovering the imminent invasion of the Mandalorians. There are also sub-plots such as Jedi Master Kae's romance with Yusanis, who Revan befriends at this time. Episode two deals with a young Jedi Master Revan's deciding to go to war and Revan's battles against the Mandalorians and the desperate attempts to discover what is the true cause behind their invasion. This leads to the discovery of Malachor V and Korriban, where the ending occurs when Revan discovers the purpose of Malachor V. Episode three would then be the Exile's point of view, dealing with some major battles towards the end of the war. The Republic's fleet is collapsing, the Jedi are losing, and Revan is no where to be found. The climax would be the battle at Malachor V, and the Exile's connection to the force being severed. An ending montage showing the more terrible moments of the civil war drives home how far Revan is taking this war. Of course on the surface it does seem pointless as "you already know the ending." But it would allow for the roleplaying options of whether or not Revan actually fell to the darkside, and investigating Revan's relationships with Kreia as well as Malak. It would also deal with the sacrifices that the Exile had to make during the war, which could lead to some very nasty moral decisions where there is no clear cut right or wrong answer. Do you let Sirocco burn? Knowing that the Mandalorians won't realize that you cracked their communications, allowing you to reinforce fortress worlds despite the civilian cost?
  7. Ahh... this thread brings back memories. Next up: Bumblebee v.s. Marka Ragnos!
  8. Yeah, it got split into the "NTF Rebellion" and the "Battle of Capella." Sort of a rip-off for poor Bosch in the history books
  9. Personally I would have had the Nihilus fight be done entirely through dialog. It could have been pretty interesting. Also tying in an event such as his slowly draining Mandalore and Visas would have shown that he's a threat to pretty much everyone but you.
  10. Maybe we should petition for a KOTOR2 cheezit box. There could be the darkside box with Nihilus sucking up cheezits and putting the salt into Sion's wounds. ...and a lightside box with Atris putting them up her nose, and Vrook (looking as indignant as ever) stealing some while she's not looking. All proceeds go to a content patch?
  11. Fallen to new depraved depths Lucas' liscensing has. On the bright side, it's not the Lord of Hunger Darth Nihilus on the box
  12. Here's my character on Nar Shadaa.
  13. Your #2 option would have been very interesting. Especially if you had a darkside Revan and asked: "But isn't he dead?" "No. There are many that the Force does not surrender until they have played their parts." I also think a few small changes on Malachor V would have polished the game:
  14. I'm betting that at the very least we'd see Ziost and Stennis (from EP3) as they are in the Unknown Reaches and are "super evil Sith planets."
  15. Thanks for the reply I was sort of hoping that there was an official channel that people generally contacted to clear things, especially after hearing about how... picky Lucasarts is with fan projects related to their liscenses.
  16. What we discover in KOTOR3 is that the Ewoks are the true Sith, and the Sithari turns them from their previous darker path to more martial persuits to prepare for the great war thousands of years away...
  17. Especially with the whole Jesus turning to the darkside and later being redeemed by his son thing "Join me... we can rule the Roman Empire together!"
  18. Overall it seems like- Avellone: Gameplay and story are things that go hand in hand for good games. Kojima: I don't write stories... I make game and story come in... Yes. (Not meaning to insult Kojima, but either the translation Gamespot used was poor or he really couldn't wrap his mind around the idea that anyone would want to ask him about the plot of his games) Levine: Gameplay and stories both go hand in hand. ...and I hate cutscenes. EMERGENT GAMEPLAY!!!111 TEH WARREN SPECTORZ!!! Tim Schafer: Game stories suck. Why am I here? You thought my games' stories were good? Ragnar T
  19. Well with some of these planets, the city is all that's there. Telos just has the citadel station, you're not allowed on the surface. Onderon just has Iziz and wilderness. Nar Shadaa is one massive city, and the whole place is a pit. Dantooine just has the Khoonda settlement and some farms. Korriban is a pit. Malachor V... why would you be living on Malachor V unless you were a Sith Lord?
  20. The big problem with the idea Majin is that Sion lost all will to survive after confronting the Exile. It was a battle of will, not a battle of bodies. Sion realized that Traya hated him and he was a failure in her eyes, so he lost the will to live. However, this could be used as an interesting thing. Sion being brought back by the darkside against his will, hating what he is even more than before now, and forced in a scheme of events by the force when all he wants now is release. His pain no longer is coming from inflicting suffering on others, but the suffering of his continued life knowing that he failed to give up the force and is unable to.
  21. *Dwooo*
  22. The Rakatan and the Infinite Empire aren't related to the Sith.
  23. Let's see: - Visas and Mandalore's conversation on the Ravager - The HK factory (though possibly edited a bit to hint at the droid planet possibly being in KOTOR3?) - HK-47 confronting G0T0 on Malachor - The party member related events on Malachor V (confronting Traya, the possible rescues/encounters) - Genoharadan references/explosion on Nar Shadaa/Sion and Nihilus' conversation
  24. Eisu, would you be interested in drawing up these "what if?" dialogs from the Kreia/Kae thread as short comics? #1 Handmaiden, *I* am your mother! <if Exile male, to Handmaiden> Think. Think before you throw away your life for him. Think of everything you will lose by dying.Your lusts unfulfilled. A dance, unfinished. A love, requited. Think before you give it up so quickly. Handmaiden: By putting my weapons down I will dishonor the Exile. I cannot dishonor the Exile anymore then I can dishonor the memory of my mother. Kreia: Foolish words. Perhaps I could simply marr your face to show how foolish your clinging to a memory of her is. Or perhaps the truth would leave a greater wound... Handmaiden: Your words are hollow Traya. Your lies will end here today. If not by my hand, then by the Exile's. Kreia: Hollow? {[Kreia gives a wry smile]} Then know the truth and suffer for it. Arren Kae did not die at Malachor, or at least not in the way you believe... Look into your feelings... Handmaiden: {[in despair]} No... it... {These last words are said in pure anguish} it cannot be... <presumably the Handmaiden collapses at this point> Kreia: {[Gameplay Programmer: Kreia turns to Visas.]}And you, blind one, you have hungered to strike me down ever since you saw the bond the exile and I share. #2 The Redemption of Kreia <The Handmaiden slowly approaches the Exile and a dying Kreia> Handmaiden: Exile, permit me to ask her one last question. Exile: Brianna are you... Handmaiden: <Dodging the question> My body will heal. <With a mixture of impatience and fear> My question? <The Exile Nods, the Handmaiden kneels down by Kreia> Handmaiden: I have now seen you fight. Did you ever care for me as you care for him? Kreia: If you do not know the answer for yourself, you are as much of a fool as Atton. Handmaiden: <Irritated, but her voice is full of fear> You did not answer my question, did you ever... care for me? Kreia: Do you ask for the same sheepish worship that Yusanis gave Arren Kae from me? Or do you ask for love? The love that no... Jedi can ever know... or give. <Kreia releases a breath and looks almost relieved> Know this, your mother never knew love until it was too late. She did not know love when she was no longer a Jedi... She did not know love even when she could no longer be even a Sith. She did not know love... <Her eyes begin to close, the Handmaiden holds her hand, and her last words are a whisper> ...until now. <The Handmaiden stares at Kreia's body for a moment, and under her breath says> ...there is no death... there is... Exile: <holding the Handmaiden's hand> the force.
