  1. Really Flushentity? So far Ive been able to identify all the guns in the screen shots. At the very least they are making model replicas of really life armaments. They can change the name and the stats but the look is ripped directly from reality. It will be interesting to see what this will look like in the final game.
  2. My bad, guess my weapon recognition skills need alittle work. Then again I never was a big fan of FN even though they have been coming onto the gun scene more and more this past decade. I always forget that the SCAR, F2000, and P90 all come from them.
  3. If Im not mistaken thats a Galil right? Never was a big fan. I much prefer sub carbines like the G36C. As a matter of fact in Aliens v Predator some mercs pulled G36Cs out of briefcases. Wouldn't mind having that around during under cover ops in AP. Come to think of it, the briefcase W2000 sniper from Hitman: Blood Money was super useful too.
  4. Even though they scrapped the program, I wouldn't mind an OICW. As for desert eagles...I'd rather use a derringer.
  5. In all fairness your link barely covers the same topic. Sure some people put in their suggestions for weapons but that wasn't necessarily why the topic was started in the first place. Plus, I didn't see anyone make a list of the weapons that the screenshots already show in game.
  6. I did a search and I failed to find a topic solely on guns so I figured I'd make one. From what I have read there are going to be 4 main types of weapons: handguns, SMGs, shotguns, and rifles. I also heard that SMGs will always be duel wielded. After going through the screen shots here is what I have come up with as far as what guns will be featured in the game. Handguns: Smith and Wesson M&P Shotguns: XM1014 Auto SMGs: Mp7A1 Rifles: Scar L, XM8 Other: M60 Feel free to add to or debate my findings. As far as what I hope to find in the game. Here is a list of what I would like to see: Handguns: Walther P99 (James Bond's recent gun of choice), Sig Sauer P228/P229 (Jack Bauer's gun from Season 1), and HK's .45cal USP Compact Tactical SMGs: Mp5K (Neo - Matrix 1), Glock 18 (I know its a pistol but it just seems to belong here), Scorpion Shotguns: Classic Double Barrel or Sawed Off (Similar to the one Jason Bourne Used in the Bourne Identity) Rifles: PSG-1 (Im assuming snipers belong in this category), G3SG1, M110 Hope you all enjoy the topic. Post your own thoughts about the guns you want to see in AP.
  7. I recommend Fair Play by James M. Olson. Not only is it easy to read but it really encourages the reader to put themselves in the shoes of a CIA agent and look at things from their standpoint. As a matter of fact I'd be disappointed if no one at Obsidian read this while developing AP. Not only does it give you alot of good, realistic scenarios to put into the game, but it could be invaluable in developing all the different decisions you could make for any given scenario. Other than that, I highly recommend the movie Taken. I enjoyed it more than the Bourne and Bond movies.
  8. Shooting someone in the head is not included in my definition of nice. Good point. replace "nice" with "cool, ultra gory"
  9. You where right it is indeed American Kempo. Did some more youtubing and this stills looks like it will produce enjoyable results. Anyway, my issue with any lack of disarm capabilities is that the bad guy may recover from a hit quickly and then shoot you while you engage him (or another person) in CQC. Without the ability to disarm an opponent you cripple the usefulness of CQC especially if multiple opponents have been engaged. Say you came upon two bad guys one armed and one not armed as you round a corner. Immediately you engage the two attacking the armed person first with a couple hits then finishing the rest of your combo on the unarmed guy. Well what if that armed guy recovers? He'll get an easy chance to shoot u in the head! Now if you could disarms the guy to begin with (perhaps with the charged up attack) now you can perform your combos without worry. This is only one situation where disarms would be nice. I could think of many others. Now I don't think they should redo the CQC system rather I just think they should make it so that the charged attack acts as a disarm when the opponent you face carries a gun. Would actually be very enjoyable is you did a charge attack disarm that knocked the badguy back then you can do a takedown that involves a nice animation of you shooting the guy in the head (or something like that). It's just a thought.
  10. Did a little youtubeing of American Hapkido. Looks like it will be a very enjoyable martial art to kick ass with in Alpha Protocol. I was just curious...does anyone know if the devs plan to implement weapon disarms? how about counter moves? I am really looking forward to the CQC the devs plan to implement. I really enjoyed The Bourne Conspiracy game and after recently watching the movie Taken I can't wait to get in on the action of Alpha Protocol. Thanks
  11. Revenge of the Sith had the best lightsaber combat but KotOR I had the best story......I am so confused on what to vote for
  12. Coruscant, Alderran, Ziost or Byss (Korriban is getting old), Corellia or Naboo, and then maybe a new world
  13. I think a combo of the Revenge of the Sith Game's action and combat system mixed with KotOR RPG elements and story would make for a great game....perhaps even KotOR III.
  14. Well as for planets I would like to see: Coruscant Naboo Alderaan Corellia Byss As for the main characters: I think that a page should be taken from Final fantasy VIII and have a split main character with Revan and the Exile. I personally would like to see alot more apprenticeship stuff cause I want to get an apprentice and make him kick %$$. As for other characters, I still want to see what's up wit Bastila and wit Handmaiden cause they were my favs from each game. Maybe Jolee Bindo too cause I loved making fun of him in KotOR I.
  15. My Exile, Os Novarider: -He was a 100% Lightsider Guardian/Weapons Master. -He used a single blue lightsaber -I modded some Jedi Robes and made some specific for him (brown overcoat and brown inner tunic = very cool) -I also did a little modding to the beginning of the game and gave him a very cool sword(one he used during his 5 years of Exile) -Handmaiden is his hunny, and he is Handmaiden's Boo -Though Visas came onto him and let him "see" her (dont want to know what that means) -He never ever took any of Kreia's advice Basically, my Exile is a Warrior to the end, opposed to all things related to the dark side though with his experience from the Mandolorian wars he understands the dark side as well as the nature of the force. For these reasons he ignored Kreia, understanding that even though she was a figure of light she cast a dark shadow. He saw through her manipulation and used her to find out her true plans and secrets.
  16. I remember a specific talk I had with Canderous in KotOR I. When he was talking about the Mandolorian Wars and how they where started, he said that the Sith persuaded the Mandolorians to go to war with the Republic. And I think he may have even mentioned the Unknown Regions as the place the Sith where living.
  17. I loved Tales of the Jedi but have yet to read the Legacy and KotOR comics(mainly because I perfer to buy the TPBs) , but the premise of both sounds promising especially since I just read the book "Betrayal". Either way I am going to choose KotOR just cause I love the games so much.
  18. Force Abilities: Telekinesis- Throwing objects at people (as well as moving objects out of the way) is an important Jedi Power that should have been in KotOR I. note: The Telekinesis power would also be cool because it would be useful in situations where a jedi might lose his lightsaber and needed it back...furthermore the ability of a game engine that can have a jedi lose his lightsaber (perhap it was kicked out of his hand) make the KotOR II powers of Force Deflection and Redirection more useful. And although I cant come up with names of other powers I wouldn't mind one that is similar to what Yoda can do when attacked by force lightning.
  19. Now I like that, Exar Kun has a really good point. As does Vaxen, a very interesting observation of windu's lightsaber color!
  20. I just hope that whatever the story is that it wont mess up any of the choices I made in the first 2 games. I want to be able to continue the storyline with Revan being Male Lightside and Exile being Male Lightside. Oh but I do have a few requests for KotOR III: A. I want a telekinesis power! It isn't Star wars unless your character loses his or her lightsaber and then has to go and use the force to call it back. B. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated combat system, perhaps based off some consultation with Nick Gillard the farther of lightsaber combat as we know it.
  21. Personally I dont believe comparisons can be made between any of these characters because most are separated by different Star Wars Eras. Furthermore using books as a cannon source isn't a good idea cause there are just too many flaws and contradictions between the books and the movies. (example of contradiction: authors creating the 7 forms of lightsaber combat based off of Nick Gillard's Stunt work. Gillard himself said that the "forms" where a very inaccurate representation of his work. Sorry but that also means Vapaad is complete BS) I'd say if you want to make an educated decision you must do so based on dialog accounts of each characters power taken from the movies, or in the case of KotOR characters, the games. That being said using the games allows you to kick Nihilus, Traya, and all the other KotOR baddies, leaving only Revan and the Exile who never fought each other. Since Vader was more of a puppet and could not reach his full potential due to his injuries he is out but Anakin Skywalker is still in. It is hard to say who was stronger between Palpatine and Mace because of different theories of how that battle went down(some say Palp threw the fight to convert Anakin, others say Palp was fighting for his life). However, Palp did orcustrate an entire war under Mace's nose. Well I cant give arguements for all my choices so here is what I think it is even though this may be slightly based on favoritism: Revan The Exile Palpatine Luke Mace Yoda Anakin
  22. I have to say of all the Star Wars games I have played or currently own the Revenge of the Sith game was most impressive. I myself am a huge stickler when it comes to lightsaber combat and this game actually did what I would like to see in the next KotOR installment do. The ROTS game developers actually went to Nic Gillard (the guy who created those wonderful lightsaber battles in the prequal movies) and actually learned how he created the art of the lightsaber and added everything he knew into the game. That being said, Revenge of the Sith for the PS2 is #1 with KotOR I comes in at a close second place.
  23. Ok after reading a couple posts I have simply say one thing. There is very little point to trying to see who is the most powerful jedi when half of them come from a completely different era than the other half. There is really very little criteria you can actually compare them with and books (I hate to say it) are NOT canon in any way. They contradict the movies WAY too much. As for games, well lets just say the story is realistic enough for Star Wars but the powers/feats/combat can't really be used as any sort of criteria to compare against other jedi/sith from movies.
  24. This a KotOR II thread why all the KotOR I ladies. Of both games, Handmaiden is the hottest!
