  1. This was allegedly fixed in patch 1.04 according to the thread I found. Make sure you're patched up to the latest version of the game and see if it still happens. Meanwhile, I'll link to the thread I found and keep looking for a bit to see if I can find more information. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76873-getthreadcontext-failed/?hl=getthreadcontext EDIT: I also found this dev post which might be helpful to you: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/75226-crash-on-start-up/?p=1641677
  2. Adino, you can put in spoiler tags by using the word 'spoiler' in brackets [ no spaces spoiler ] then, when you want to close the spoiler tag, just put /spoiler in the brackets [ / spoiler ] EDIT: while letting other parts remain seen.
  3. A similar issue came up recently. Here's a response to that topic: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/80342-stuck-in-raedrics-hold-dungeons/?p=1705986
  4. I don't really care about dice as a stretch goal, per se, but I'm with M and M on this one: dice are great. I used to have a big box of dice when I played PnP regularly. Sadly, scheduling is such a nightmare that I dropped the PnP games, but I still have a bunch of dice. Good times!
  5. Well, since Gorth okayed the thread, I suppose I can let you clarify. I don't think you can count on devs perusing your thread here, but there's always an off chance that a modder might see it and comment. I have to admit that I don't know how much of a modding community there is around New Vegas, but the game itself is stellar. One of my top five faves. Good luck with... well... whatever exactly you're trying to get.
  6. At one point there were official romance threads. I did a search and there aren't any recent ones. If my mod mojo is failing me, any of the other mods can wrap this thread into an existing one. In the meantime, here's another thread for discussing romance. Have fun, pro and anti romancers!
  7. As far as I know, this site isn't run by Obsidian. For my part, I'm a volunteer moderator and not actually employed by Obsidian. :Cant's wry grin icon: However, I did find the following webpage. I've never used the console, but then I also didn't have any game breaking problems. At any rate, here goes: http://orcz.com/Pillars_of_Eternity:_Console_Commands
  8. I was going to do a search for you, but it seems as if you've already poked around and didn't find a solution to your problem. The console commands I can recall offhand don't really deal with changing the quest states. Hopefully someone sees your issue and can give you a hand. Good luck, man!
  9. I found this issue posted. Hopefully you can find help in the following link: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/79186-solution-to-acommon-105-patching-issue-on-steam-missing-data-folder/?p=1686477
  10. I did find this topic which addresses patching the DVD version. This was just a quick search and I don't have time to thoroughly look for it now, but I'll come back tonight and see if I can find anything. If anyone else finds something, hopefully they'll post it here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/80142-patching-a-version-installed-from-the-dvd/?hl=%2Bdvd+%2Bpatching
  11. I didn't find your specific issue, but there was this issue with arcane assault posted from a member using patch 1.06: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/80059-arcane-assault-no-longer-working-since-106/?p=1700059 It looks as if they're looking into that issue and so hopefully this one gets wrapped into it. However, I can say that it's peculiar if you don't get verification by passing your cursor over the targets to see who was under the dazed effect. At any rate, good luck!
  12. Give it a little time, jodokast. When I first put through your thread, I did a search and I only found one post that seemed to pertain to the same issue. I did one again and it's still the only one: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71813-game-crash/?p=1614825 I did multiple searches, but only one yielded the same result from 'load mono,' although several threads cited the term 'mono.' Keep plugging away, but don't think that no one is trying to figure out how to help you. For Obsidz specific help, you can always try support@obsidian.net. As always, good luck, man!
  13. In terms of the wizard, if you want more than the joinable NPC, you could make your PC a wizard (of course :Cant's rueful grin icon:) Or you can also create a joinable NPC at an inn. Steam should autopatch the game unless you've intentionally prevented it. If you *want* to have Steam automatically update, you can select that option by... here, I'll just make some pics really fast and post them.
  14. I edited some of the comments. I didn't include the usual Cant EDIT, but the people involved should be able to see what edits I made. Basically, I simply tried to insert less inflammatory terms. Please, guys, keep it about the game. Don't poke each other in the eye. Don't wage war upon each other. Address the game, not the person.
  15. No, go ahead and put in all the info and I'll put it in a spoiler tag to make it take up less space if necessary.
  16. This might be related. It seems to be related to saves, but I hope it helps: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72780-crash-on-save-mac-os/?p=1664179 Since this thread was cited by one of the devs today: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/80032-crash-on-save-osx-developer-please-respond-to-us/?p=1699814 at least it looks like something they're investigating. Good luck, man!
  17. All is well. I'll make a point to keep an eye out also and I'll bump this thread with what I find... or don't. :Cant's wry grin icon:
  18. I merged your topics, grinh. When I approve threads like these, I always look to see if I can find an answer and when I do I sometimes find duplicates which always end up merged. Keep in mind that folks might not have an answer. I'm going to poke around to see if I can find something for you, but I can't always find something. If it keeps irking you, you could contact support@obsidian.net I suspect that you might be right and the best thing to do is go to a save before the assassin fight and be very careful about spell targeting and area effect abilities. Having done that myself, I can certainly sympathize. Like I said, I'll look around and see if someone more erudite than me has left a trail of breadcrumbs for the solution. EDIT: I can't seem to find your specific problem. I found a couple of issues regarding dialogue with Agosti that caused bugs, but none where he died/the player killed him. Let's hope someone with more information can give you a hand with this. :Cant's sheepish grin icon:
  19. This is how oblivious I am. I only have time to approve posts these days, so I tend to have tunnel vision when I come to the boards. I only found out about this kickstarter when I saw a video on one of the other moderators facebook pages. lol Well, it doesn't matter how I found out. It only matter that I pledge! EDIT: Okay, I'm royalty now. I thought about going for the... Duke? level, but I just have so much collectible stuff that I can't see getting more. ...But I'm also a sucker, so I guess I might upgrade. Still almost a month to go. Here's hoping I can get my wife into the game. That would be awesome.
  20. I did a search and it seems to me this issue should have been fixed the in the 1.05 patch. I'd make sure you're patched up to date. If that doesn't work, hopefully someone has a more useful answer to give you. Good luck!
  21. I merged your topics, Frrritz, but please give more time for responses. I understand the frustration, but you simply have to give this time. I did a quick search for your issue and was surprised to see you already had a thread out there. Don't take a lack of response as people ignoring you. Folks just don't have an answer. I'm going to do another search with your topics merged and hopefully I can find something. In the meantime, please don't bump your thread. You can also contact support directly. Support@obsidian.net EDIT: Here's a link to someone with the same problem. I see there's a developer response in there, so maybe you can find some good information rather than speculation about the issue. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/79672-105-main-quest-bugged-at-end-of-act-ii/?p=1693699
  22. I was going to edit this into your post for you, but then I realized that it would be perfectly legit as a separate entry. Thanks for taking the time to help out!
  23. I normally don't post in threads where the problem is resolved, but I would like to thank the cooler heads that prevailed. Tempers flare and people get invested in the arguments, so we give latitude, but, for the record, I actually *do* give a damn about the community here. So, I came expecting I might have to close the thread, but it's gotten back on track. Bravo! As to the weapons, I'm in act 3 and I'm trying not to get spoiled so I only skimmed, but I'm such a noob that I'm still using... Perseverance? Anyhow, on normal it's pretty hard not to do well, so everything is working just fine regardless of my noobishness.
  24. First, great Firefly avatar! :Cant's missing Firefly icon: I'm not a fan of multiplayer myself, but I try not to be aggressive about it. The fact is, however, it's never as easy to put in multiplayer as proponents suggest. It's not like you can just plop it in there. Apart from everything else, once you've put in everything necessary for MP, you then have to dedicate sufficient QA resources to test it. For me, there are so many other things that would enhance my enjoyment of the game more than MP. Forget new content, more story lines, more joinable NPCs. How about squashing the bugs that already exist. That, in and of itself, is more worthwhile from my perspective than adding an entirely new feature to the game. On the other hand, I'm not going to flame or bash someone who wants MP. I'm simply going to argue for the things I want, which is what I expect everyone should do, including the folks who want MP.
  25. Yeah, I knew I'd seen this somewhere. Hopefully this is already addressed. I would keep checking the blogs to find out more information. Here's the thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/77023-game-crash-on-every-change-location-since-latest-mac-os-update/?hl=%2Bmac+%2Bcrash+%2Blocation+%2Bchange Here's the latest patch blog by Darren Monahan: http://forums.obsidian.net/blog/7/entry-183-patch-notes-105-in-progress/
