am not an expert on such stuff, but developers has mentioned the expense o' things such as vo and translation. as such, full vo, for a game with considerable written dialogue, would seem to be a significant expense. one would need to get feedback from the developers, but am expecting the 2x vo stretch goal costs were not actual covered entire by the stretch goal amount. limited development money means more vo means less o' something else. so what does one wanna sacrifice to get more vo? our pov: excellent voice acting can make a good game better. excellent vo won't make a bad game good. dunno, but would rather have more money spent to ensure deadfire is good. HA! Good Fun!

Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
Gromnir replied to nstgc's topic in Computer and Console
you might be understating a wee bit "Some recent campus actions border on the surreal. In April, at Brandeis University, the Asian American student association sought to raise awareness of microaggressions against Asians through an installation on the steps of an academic hall. The installation gave examples of microaggressions such as “Aren’t you supposed to be good at math?” and “I’m colorblind! I don’t see race.” But a backlash arose among other Asian American students, who felt that the display itself was a microaggression. The association removed the installation, and its president wrote an e-mail to the entire student body apologizing to anyone who was “triggered or hurt by the content of the microaggressions.”" https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/09/the-coddling-of-the-american-mind/399356/ and the now (in)famous yale halloween insanity https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/11/the-new-intolerance-of-student-activism-at-yale/414810/ warning: video does get a little sweary just a couple examples. doesn't seem overstated for Gromnir, but am admitted older and have a different pov. the threshold for what we consider offensive speech/actions which demand a response is clear o' a different magnitude than many. to us, there is a ubiquitous problem with oversensitivity. we got free speech and with free speech is a moral responsibility to respond to offensive and hateful speakers. at the same time there must need be a recognition o' the fact that the only speech which requires Constitutional protection is speech which tends to offend. free speech is meaningless if every eggshell fragile listener's feelings must need be accommodated. none o' which has much to do with gender o' avatars in games so... typical we play male, but am kinda flexible 'bout such stuff. is a few games wherein the female avatars simple appeal to our sense o' aesthetics more than the male options. if we wanna see a somewhat stocky adonis, all we need do is look in the mirror, so opting for a female avatar is an infrequent change o' pace. HA! Good Fun! ps added warning... jic sweary triggers folks. Okay, so: I don't know that you're older than me. I remember you from the 90s on Black Isle and possibly Bioware forums. Without revealing our real ages, it seems to me that we're probably similar in age. You didn't demonstrate oversensitivity. You linked a couple things and basically said "See? Oversensitive!" Given that microaggressions (for example) are well known and well understood both academically and in the real world you're going to need a far more substantial argument than "look at this thing! It's an example!" It's not an example of anything but people trying to address real problems they face. Your post is an example of the oversensitivity that I was talking about, though. Are you really so fragile that these things offend you? That you don't even try to understand what they're saying or what's going on? so if Gromnir is baffled by the oversensitivity o' a person or group, it is an example o' nothing save our own oversensitivity? ... the first atlantic article is not representing one o' "a couple of things." is many examples. am wondering if you read it. "Jeannie Suk wrote in an online article for The New Yorker about law students asking her fellow professors at Harvard not to teach rape law—or, in one case, even use the word violate (as in “that violates the law”) lest it cause students distress." "Laura Kipnis, a professor at Northwestern University, wrote an essay in The Chronicle of Higher Education describing a new campus politics of sexual paranoia—and was then subjected to a long investigation after students who were offended by the article and by a tweet she’d sent filed Title IX complaints against her." "In June, a professor protecting himself with a pseudonym wrote an essay for Vox describing how gingerly he now has to teach. “I’m a Liberal Professor, and My Liberal Students Terrify Me,” the headline said." "A number of popular comedians, including Chris Rock, have stopped performing on college campuses (see Caitlin Flanagan’s article in this month’s issue). Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Maher have publicly condemned the oversensitivity of college students, saying too many of them can’t take a joke." "During the 2014–15 school year, for instance, the deans and department chairs at the 10 University of California system schools were presented by administrators at faculty leader-training sessions with examples of microaggressions. The list of offensive statements included: “America is the land of opportunity” and “I believe the most qualified person should get the job.”" "Nearly all of the campus mental-health directors surveyed in 2013 by the American College Counseling Association reported that the number of students with severe psychological problems was rising at their schools. The rate of emotional distress reported by students themselves is also high, and rising. In a 2014 survey by the American College Health Association, 54 percent of college students surveyed said that they had “felt overwhelming anxiety” in the past 12 months, up from 49 percent in the same survey just five years earlier. Students seem to be reporting more emotional crises; many seem fragile, and this has surely changed the way university faculty and administrators interact with them." "In a particularly egregious 2008 case, for instance, Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis found a white student guilty of racial harassment for reading a book titled Notre Dame vs. the Klan. The book honored student opposition to the Ku Klux Klan when it marched on Notre Dame in 1924. Nonetheless, the picture of a Klan rally on the book’s cover offended at least one of the student’s co-workers (he was a janitor as well as a student), and that was enough for a guilty finding by the university’s Affirmative Action Office." "Last year, at the University of St. Thomas, in Minnesota, an event called Hump Day, which would have allowed people to pet a camel, was abruptly canceled. Students had created a Facebook group where they protested the event for animal cruelty, for being a waste of money, and for being insensitive to people from the Middle East. The inspiration for the camel had almost certainly come from a popular TV commercial in which a camel saunters around an office on a Wednesday, celebrating “hump day”; it was devoid of any reference to Middle Eastern peoples. Nevertheless, the group organizing the event announced on its Facebook page that the event would be canceled because the “program [was] dividing people and would make for an uncomfortable and possibly unsafe environment.”" "Jeannie Suk’s New Yorker essay described the difficulties of teaching rape law in the age of trigger warnings. Some students, she wrote, have pressured their professors to avoid teaching the subject in order to protect themselves and their classmates from potential distress. Suk compares this to trying to teach “a medical student who is training to be a surgeon but who fears that he’ll become distressed if he sees or handles blood.”" a story linked in the aforementioned story which contains multiple further examples: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/09/greg-lukianoffs-story/399359/ and such is only a bit over 1/2 o' the article. and no, the validity o' microaggressions and trigger warnings is not "well known and well understood both academically and in the real world." such stuff is highly controversial. "However, there is a deeper problem with trigger warnings. According to the most-basic tenets of psychology, the very idea of helping people with anxiety disorders avoid the things they fear is misguided. A person who is trapped in an elevator during a power outage may panic and think she is going to die. That frightening experience can change neural connections in her amygdala, leading to an elevator phobia. If you want this woman to retain her fear for life, you should help her avoid elevators. "But if you want to help her return to normalcy, you should take your cues from Ivan Pavlov and guide her through a process known as exposure therapy. You might start by asking the woman to merely look at an elevator from a distance—standing in a building lobby, perhaps—until her apprehension begins to subside. If nothing bad happens while she’s standing in the lobby—if the fear is not “reinforced”—then she will begin to learn a new association: elevators are not dangerous. (This reduction in fear during exposure is called habituation.) Then, on subsequent days, you might ask her to get closer, and on later days to push the call button, and eventually to step in and go up one floor. This is how the amygdala can get rewired again to associate a previously feared situation with safety or normalcy." one article. we would be here all day if we included more, such as https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/liberal-but-not-tolerant-on-the-nations-college-campuses/2016/02/11/0f79e8e8-d101-11e5-88cd-753e80cd29ad_story.html?utm_term=.29c553a8f60e and the quick growing disinvited college speaker list. want more... intimate? hurlshot has mentioned how his students often confuse him with their observations concerning what is racism. there is a tendency for his students to see racism in things/events/speech which hurl finds innocuous. is there a number o' examples you need? if you is gonna turn this into an absurdist thing where every example we offer is nothing more than additional proof o' our oversensitivity, then am gonna simple bow out after this post as we are dealing with the kinda polarization dilemma we discussed earlier. ... gonna share an anecdote we partial shared previous on this board. is 'bout when we first started attending public school. the reservation schools were terrible, and our grandfather recognized how we were gonna need social skills, particular with non indians (aside: for years we were taught "indian" were cultural insensitive, but now am told by younger family how "native american" is actual a microaggression. who knew?) if we were gonna have opportunities beyond the borders o' pine ridge. so, we were going to local public school... which weren't particular local. Grandfather would drive us 40 minutes to where bus would then pick us up... and another hour + to get to school once picked up by the bus. at school, our young self encountered a new kinda bullying for the first time. sure, we had been 'round other indian kids and had suffered the typical kinda cruelty which is normal 'mongst all children o' every culture. sudden find one's self 'mongst so many openly belligerent white faces were unnerving to say the least. first day ends and Gromnir, tears in his eyes, tells grandfather he don't wanna go to school any more. no, we says we won't go to school no more.. Grandfather gives us a long and silent stare. finally, he says, "ok." a taciturn man were our Grandfather. next day we do not attend school. huzzah. however, we is worked harder than have ever worked before. hands is blistered and every muscle in body burns. literal am too tired to eat dinner, and though we smell o' horse manure and sweat, we go straight to bed after day's chores end. following morning, Grandfather asks us if we wanna go to school. "yes sir." on the way to dropping us off for the bus, our Grandfather and Gromnir discussed our school problem. we explained to the old man how difficult it were with so many white kids making fun o' us for being stupid and poor and indian. we were afraid we were gonna get beat up. almost as bad as the kids open hostility were the pity we saw in the faces o' the white adults who were teachers and administrators at the school. were a nightmare for us. grandfather asked us if we felt shame for being indian. "no." did we feel shame 'bout being poor? "maybe. a little." did we feel like we were stupid? "no. i am as smart as anybody at that school, including the teachers." so our grandfather shrugs. tells us there is no shame in being indian or white or black or chinese. just is. tell us if we is ashamed o' being poor, the best way to fix that problem is to get an education. tells us if we is so smart, then we should act like it and start by "fixing your own problems... smart guy." we both kinda chuckled. the old guy in patched denim jacket drove us to school in his ancient ford pickup. the weathered skin o' his face was dark and gnarled as redwood bark and his eyes bright and black as a crow's. he didn't talk much. he rare smiled. he was devout catholic but we had never heard him pray. he were well educated and taught us to enjoy books. he were our Grandfather. on that trip to school he gave us advice and we wish we could recall the exact words, but were a long time ago and we were young and tired and too stupid to realize how important were the things he were telling us. wish we could recall exact. the old guy told us we could never be given respect-- we would need earn it. we would need take it. we would need fight for it and once won, we would need battle to defend what we had earned. we would meet people who were hating or pitying us for no other reason than our being indian. we would meet people who hated or pitied us for no reason other than our poverty. complain to teachers or grandfather 'bout the injustice o' it all were pointless 'cause nobody could make people change their minds. tell a bigot he is wrong won't change his mind. punish a bigot won't make him less a bigot-- opposite is gonna happen. get you teacher to punish the kids for being bigots and those kids will hate you even more, and they will only be more bigoted with the next indian kid they meet. old guy told us to stop thinking 'bout "fair." were never gonna be fair for an oglala kid from pine ridge. respect o' white kids and white teachers weren't gonna come fair. perhaps we didn't need respect from such folks, but if we wanted it we were gonna need earn it. we were gonna need prove every day we deserved respect. were gonna be a lifetime battle 'cause even once earned, many would still believe we had lucked or cheated to succeed. wish we could remember exact, but his wisdom weren't unique. have heard similar from mlk and others. older generation. different times. nowadays is microaggressions and triggers rather than personal responsibility and manning-up... which is, no doubt, a microaggression. we want a relative level playing field for jobs. we want an honest chance in courts. we want fairness we know we ain't ever gonna complete get. halloween costumes at yale? they, the previous generation, fought for the civil rights act and nowadays it is "safe places"? clearly Gromnir don't condone bigotry, but again, the First Amendment protects offensive speech. is axiomatic that there is no need to protect speech which fails to offend anybody. allow self to be affected by every marginal or imagined offensive utterance or condition is pretty much the definition o' oversensitivity, particular in a society which also claims to value Free Speech. longer response than deserved. could tell you didn't read the atlantic article when you observed how we linked "a couple things," or if you did, you weren't gonna budge from your pov-- no how, no way. am suspecting this is a polarization dilemma, but can't fault us for lack o' a full response. done. ok, am not a bon appétit fan, but the tater tot waffle is an inspired idea. ingredients as follows: 4 scallions, cut into 1-inch pieces Flaky sea salt 8 ounces thick-cut smoked bacon, cut into ½-inch pieces 1 32-ounce bag tater tots (preferably Ore-Ida), room temperature 3 ounces sharp cheddar, coarsely grated (about ¾ cup) Sour cream and cilantro leaves with tender stems prep found at link. http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/loaded-baked-potato-tot-waffle HA! possible con we overlooked. is the Paris agreement. is understandable for reasonable people to reject being associated with the french. if the SPDT (society for the promotion of dwarf tossing) came up with a brilliant plan for increasing jobs and curing cancer and saving abandoned puppies, we still might hesitate to join their association. same sorta appeal as licking an ashtray. HA! Good Fun!
-
as we noted earlier, the nfl bungled the appeal process for elliott, which will ultimately not matter, but will substantial delay the inevitable. is a bit like deflategate. HA! Good Fun!

"Withdrawing from the Paris Agreement In June, Trump pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement on climate change. In doing so, the US joined Syria and Nicaragua as the only two countries not participating in the agreement." I like the short careful assessment of pros and cons of this decision. How is "he not doing what everyone is doing" an argument. It only shows how left is in love with group-thinking. fair. we will now go into an in-depth assessment o' the cons o' the paris agreement. . . . . . . . . . . . . trump's base is tending to be under-educated and they impulsively reject any sorta environmental protectionism as anti-jobs. while the paris agreement is complete voluntary and most studies has shown how the move towards renewable and environmental conscientious sources o' energy will actual increase jobs, removing the US from the agreement does appeal to the complete emotional, but irrational, preconceptions o' the people who most helped get trump elected. regardless o' facts, remaining part o' the paris agreement woulda' been seen as globalist and un american by the ~20% of voters who is best described as wingnuts. trump's standing with alt-right conspiracy nutters and coal miners in west virginia woulda' diminished if the US had remained as a voluntary supporter o' the paris agreement. . . . . . . . . . . . . there you go. we covered all the cons. HA! Good Fun!

yes. is old and much-worn terrain, but josh has a pinned post at twitter/tumblr addressing sp game balance. https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/161302725596/balance-in-single-player-crpgs#_=_ HA! Good Fun! ps is worth repeating, as we ain't stated in a while, but goal o' balance should be equivalent viability and usefulness as 'posed to equality o' power. try and make everything equal power is doomed. if a particular multi class is underpowered compared to a single class barbarian with sub class ______, we don't much care. as long as the multi class feels equivalent useful during encounters, am satisfied. even so, can't have you-win builds w/o costs. can't have classes/multi classes so weak that only the hardcore role-player or folks looking for a unique challenge will play such a build. goat and underpowered is to be avoided.
-
our main concern with sub classing and multiclassing is balance issues. in d&d, pre 3e multiclassing were advantageous. the level lag were not particular onerous pre 3e. unfortunate, particular with bab and the importance o' caster levels, effective halving potential 3e level advancement were crippling save for in the case o' prestige class advancement or 1-2 levels o' X and 18 levels o' Y builds. subclassing were, particular in 2e, broken. a handful o' kits were so ridiculous overpowered we typical simple said no to anybody wanting to use kits in our campaigns. were more fair to say no to everybody than to explain why bladesingers and priest o' mystra were verboten. am thinking obsidian is aware o' the systemic power level issues o' multiclassing. systemic issues will be addressed, and taken as a whole, multiclassing will not be more or less beneficial than single class. am also confident subclasses won't be ridiculous over-the-top powerful. am recalling iwd2 development and how conscious were some o' the same developers now working on poe: deadfire regarding munchkin kits. ... the thing is, game busting exploits don't happen so much at the systemic level in these kinda number based games. like it or not, there is gonna be synergies o' spells and feats and class abilities which make for unexpected and excessive op builds. to be able to adequate anticipate all such game busting builds strikes us as an improbable task for standard qa monkeys. is simple too many possible combinations for qa to test, particular as the testers ain't necessarily hardcore build craftsman. am concerned, but will wait for the beta before making alarmist chicken little predictions. HA! Good Fun!

Not a big surprise. I spent a ton of money with B&N over the years, but now that I have a kindle, I just don't have much reason to go in there. I'm more likely to shop at my small local bookstore for anything not on the kindle, too, because it is easier. am tending to buy used or new books instead o' kindle or nook. as such, am kinda doing an even split on amazon v. b&n. there is always a coupon or deal going for b&n, so, particular for new, physical books, amazon is a second choice. am liking the tactile sensations which accompany physical book reading. am also wanting to help authors and thus sometimes pay/over pay for a hardback edition from b&n when it would be making more sense to buy used from amazon or elsewhere. aside: our local public library system is admirable. the county library has a weekly bookmobile 3 hour scheduled stop in our community. can reserve books and have 'em delivered. am rare able to pick up the books our self, but we got neighbors who help us out when the need arises. is kinda an amazing service considering how geographic remote we is. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/deadly-1991-hamlet-fire-exposed-high-cost-cheap-180964816/ am not knowing if the incident has been added to current history books. am thinking it would be useful to teach along side triangle shirtwaist factory fire o' 1911. "those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them." HA! Good Fun! -
What I heard was "dhow", although it looks very large for such a craft. Maybe it's just a "we need size X to allow for boarding combat" type of thing? A dhow would make sense. Given that Rauatai has Polynesian and Asian influences and the Huana have similar influences, they'd have ships which are more Polynesian/Asian based rather than European. gotta be careful how much one chooses to extrapolate from developer claims o' inspiration and influence. setting o' first poe game were 'posed to be much influenced by north american colonial. one could see influences o' american colonial if one were looking and knew the espoused influences and inspirations, but there were at least as much 'bout defiance bay which were clear Not american colonial as there were. examples o' inspiration and influence will be tidal-- will come and go. in any event, am expecting graphic and gameplay considerations will be the most significant deciding factors regarding ship design. ships will need be shaped and designed to accommodate the kinda squad-based, tactical combat battles the game engine makes possible. if such don't work cultural or historical, then am suspecting cultural and historical is gonna need surrender to practical and economical. given the nautical theme, am simple embracing our inner captain obvious. haven't played since late 2016. the command xp complete killed the fun for us. am likely to final kill our subscription, though maybe wait for the next big event and try to get back into the mix. 'course, we ain't been playing much o' anything these past few months. played a bit o' battletech beta, but little else, so maybe is a Gromnir problem more than swtor. but again, command xp grind has been our penultimate nail in the coffin for swtor. couldn't let it die, eh? well, we see, you understand us well enough to respond multiple times, without much difficulty in discerning our meaning. so am calling your bluff on the aforementioned complaint. again, we has seen the misunderstanding ploy so many times it is genuine sad at this point. typical we not even need respond before some other longtime poster on these/other boards chimes in and predicts ensuing inevitabilities. *yawn* and yes, one can observe how perfect you captured the hulk/Gromnir parallel with, "Lastlt, sorry, I did nut mean to offend Gromnir. Gromnir sad. Gromnir have cookie. GROMNIR GETTING ANGRY!!!" not even one "Gromnir smash"? no, "don't make Gromnir angry. you wouldn't like us when we are angry"? classic stuff. maybe espanol hulk has no catchphrases, but am doubting, "hulk have a cookie" is one 'o them, eh... unless hulk filled in for the cookie monster on sesame street? is possible. "also love how you're in a loop about "getting this thread back on topic, why make it tougher for mods?" but keep replying in ways to derail it further and encourage to derail the thread in the same breath. Irony. And the fact that you always question the genuine nature of anyone who opposes you is laughable. Yes, Gromnir, get some sleep... all that lack of sleep has costed you." see, now you finally are understanding hypocrisy, though one suspects you ain't turned the mirror on yourself. if you honest think we could single-handed derail a thread, you are being naive. can review thread if you wish, but Gromnir made a general observation, in agreement with others, 'bout the state o' a thread on this board. no individuals criticized. so how did we get here, in the computer and console section o' the board with you chasing your tail and our happy encouragement o' the antics? in any event, successful education is a wonderful thing. you are inching towards understanding o' hypocrisy. you are making progress. good for you. btw, belle sorciere did actual move the dumpster fire subject matter to the relevant thread. this sm experience (bad pun) hasn't been least bit novel. am done with sm, so knock yourself out with anticipated and predictable reply. as an aside, am wondering how the recent hurricane in texas affected game developers. houston has, in recent years, aquired a considerable developer footprint. most such game developers don't pop up on our radar, but sudden having numerous titles delayed (at the very least) can have widespread impact on the industry as a whole. example: publishers sudden need fill the void left by anticipated houston releases by rushing other complete unrelated titles so as to keep quarterly report from looking anemic. HA! Good Fun!

is a serious question? answer is obvious a "yes." you got an opinion that widgets made by Generico is the worst widgets on the market. furthermore, you share opinion, with any who will listen, that Generico is a monolithic and evil corporation which exploits slave wage labor in south east asia, pollutes the environment, and hates old people, children and dogs. oh, and you work for Generico. of course you can be fired for voicing legal but distasteful opinions. as an at-will employee (am assuming no contract) chances are you can be fired for any reason, or no reason at all... just as long as the reason itself is not violating a law. e.g. whistleblower statues, and civil rights violations. as we noted already, there is a valid question 'bout whether a business should fire folks for their offensive opinions, but able to? able is not actual at issue. HA! Good Fun!

They aren't all bad but that thread was pretty terrible is funny on a certain level. 1/2 posters saying they see nothing wrong with ______. other half saying you gotta be blind to not see the wrong. complete absence o' any middle ground where reasonable discussion can take place. unintended hilarity ensues. Don't be misleading. When you say they see nothing wrong with "blank" the blank in question is racism and sexism. They see nothing wrong with racism and sexism. What exactly is the middle ground between being racist and sexist and being against racism and sexism? Why should there be a middle ground? Is there anything at all redeemable about racism or sexism, or arguments in favor of either? What is the reasonable discussion that involves compromise to allow for racism and sexism? am not thinking we need go viral with the thread in question. better to keep the dumpster fire burning in one place rather than spreading it around the board. seems sm117 is stuck in a loop. repeat the claim o' misunderstanding. repeat, "you seem somewhat offended," stuff. only thing new were a non explanation o' a "reference to something"? okie dokie. ... if sorciere genuine wants to discuss the aforementioned issue, repost below in the dumpster fire thread, and we will address tomorrow. am not being condescending. honest. is late. am tired. am gonna get 4 hours o' sleep. the mods will chastise if we spread the garbage o' a thread they already locked once. why make their job tougher, eh? HA! Good Fun!

well, in the US, getting charged for a hate crime based on a twitter or facebook post is almost ridiculous unlikely. first amendment protections is a bit different than eu or german free speech protections. even so, am in agreement 'bout social media, but Gromnir has never quite grasped the window/mirror o' social media. our need for external validation is almost non-existent, and our curiosity 'bout the day-to-day thoughts and doings o' people outside our immediate circle o' friends is negligible. even so, am conscientious o' the fact that posting as Gromnir has effective killed any chance we will ever be a judge. is not simple 'cause o' the Gromnir persona, but on such boards as these we admitted, more than once, we ain't a fan o' the law of Brown v. Board of Education. the Justices did the right thing, the moral thing, by ending school segregation, but the legal reasoning for the decision were weak and having a Court make law, instead of leaving to democratic process, arguable resulted in a decade o' blood and fire. no doubt you couldn't care less 'bout our feelings regarding brown v. board, but if we were ever being considered for a place on the bench, somebody would go through our history with gusto looking for any possible references brown v. board or roe v. wade. kinda wacky to think how posts on a game board from as far back as the mid 90s could handicap our career, but am not naive 'bout the reality. HA! Good Fun! Well thi is nice attempt at derail. where exact is the rails on this crazy train o' a thread? to be relevant to deadfire we somehow gotta imagine a domino effect or slippery slope or absurdist extreme evolution whereby the loss o' one freelance developer, who's contributions to the project were largely unknown by folks following this board, somehow has noteworthy impact on the subject matter o' this forum, i.e. deadfire. Sherman's march to the ocean caused less derailment than were inherent in this thread from the start. that being said, kdubya actual posed an interesting query, even if it weren't specific game related. the internet never complete forgets. what you post online can theoretical follow you forever. if you wanna be a game developer, then you gotta be conscientious o' the fact your words will follow you. particular if one posts at sites o' dubious integrity, one should understand the peril in such behavior. is possible the only thing o' value to be learned from the incident in question. hc svnt dracones. as we noted already, responding to Gromnir's posts as you have clear undercuts the claim 'o an inability to understand our particular posting style. oh sure, maybe a few details elude your comprehension, but you clear got the meaning. fibbing is muy malo. in any event, am far from angered by this byplay. disappointed? a bit. you got no idea how often we has seen folks follow the same exact script. if you had shown any kinda originality or creativity, we woulda' been appreciative. perhaps mighta' had us smile or chuckle. instead we got feigned lack o' comprehension and absurdism. am knowing how the script goes from here, but we wouldn't wanna ruin it for you. oh, and there were a new pathfinder update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/owlcatgames/pathfinder-kingmaker/posts/1979607?ref=backer_project_update HA! Good Fun!

well, in the US, getting charged for a hate crime based on a twitter or facebook post is almost ridiculous unlikely. first amendment protections is a bit different than eu or german free speech protections. even so, am in agreement 'bout social media, but Gromnir has never quite grasped the window/mirror o' social media. our need for external validation is almost non-existent, and our curiosity 'bout the day-to-day thoughts and doings o' people outside our immediate circle o' friends is negligible. even so, am conscientious o' the fact that posting as Gromnir has effective killed any chance we will ever be a judge. is not simple 'cause o' the Gromnir persona, but on such boards as these we admitted, more than once, we ain't a fan o' the law of Brown v. HA! Good Fun!

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/pillars-of-eternity-the-white-march---part-1 http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/pillars-of-eternity-the-white-march---part-2 am not one for using reviews, but since you brought it up, might as well use metacritic, eh? so few user scores is almost pointless to mention those. as for tyranny, we still ain't managed to work our self up to playing the game. we bought it, much encheapened and with a coupon from our deadfire backing. were thinking o' playing a week ago, then we heard 'bout the expansion. am now gonna wait at least a month for the predictable patching o' the expansion 'fore we indulge. expansion feedback from folks would be appreciated. HA! Good Fun!

"I don't speak Gromnir or Ogre." oh dear, another one. can't imagine how many times we has seen folks retreat to that bit o' desperation. we will observe how continued response will obvious give lie to the proclamation o' inability to comprehend.*shrug* regardless, as is our custom, the first one is free. "why am I getting scorned for not judging them for something that everyone here is guilty of?" being perhaps a bit narcissistic. Gromnir responded to shady, in agreement, that the thread in question were "pretty terrible." you wanna make this 'bout you somehow? how you get from such a point A to your current point KHGESCTZWIL eludes us. the rest o' your response just kinda trailed off into nonsense, which if intentional were perhaps more clever than your previous post. am expecting a warning, soon, to keep this 'bout topics rather than persons. is good advice. to stay on-topic, kinda, am almost nostalgic for the objective xp will be the death of pillars threads. as mind numbing repetitive and pointless as such were, at least they were sole 'bout games. oh, and most o' the random blogger reviews we has seen suggest the game needs polish. as we wait six months before buying such games anyway, am moderate looking forward to februaryish. HA! Good Fun!

They aren't all bad but that thread was pretty terribleis funny on a certain level. 1/2 posters saying they see nothing wrong with ______. other half saying you gotta be blind to not see the wrong. complete absence o' any middle ground where reasonable discussion can take place. unintended hilarity ensues.I think it's hypocritical for anyone on this forum to look down on the people on those thread for arguing. A few months after I joined this forum, people encouraged arguments and blunt opinions. I even got blocked by a few for saying "I don't want to post my proof, I don't need your validation, I don't want to argue", add to that the cancerous political discussions in the way-off topic that always gets heated so yeah, it's quite silly for anyone here to act as though it's more immature or anything along those lines. is hypocritical if you mock such discussions when they happen regardless o' the fora? lord knows we personal has lamented, ad nauseum, the increasing predictable polarization o' perspectives on these boards, and Gromnir is hardly alone. point out how folks in arguments is complete talking past each other is a common critique 'cause such happens with great frequency and is not limited to any particular portion o' the board. sure, has always been an issue when discussing gaming issues to have folks with comical myopic viewpoints refusing to consider any argument but their own. weren't any different in 1999. however, wannabee social engineers throwing themselves into the donnybrook has become more common in the past couple years. is unsurprising folks is even less open-minded 'bout cultural issues than they is 'bout games. in any event, your rush to defense o' the masses is cute and all, but perhaps a bit misguided. HA! Good Fun! ps in our post we specific mentioned the amber scott brouhaha, which occurred, for the most part, in the computer and console portion o' this board.
