Shame, they were amusing posters, really. Forum was a lot more fun with them around watching people getting spun up over them. Trolls need to evolve with the times hmmm. 1999 is not braggadocio, 'cause who would take pride in being a presence on crpg message boards for almost two decades, but we will observe how our personal shtick has remained unfiltered and consistent since we first adopted the Gromnir bit. less frequent shakespeare quotes? *shrug* HA! Good Fun!

have seen this complaint many times, and unfortunate it misidentifies the problem. actual problem: skill bonuses tied to classes. any sorta skill bonus tied to classes is stoopid. is not only anachronistic, but it limits the kinda player customization the developers claimed to wanna maximize. am not a huge fan o' poe trap implementation to begin with, but if Gromnir wanted to have a party member who were +90% likely to be able to disable any encountered trap, we would be compelled to include a rogue in the party. even with background bonus, the rogue were a necessary addition to the party if trap/lock events were to be a forgone conclusion. OR we could make certain we discovered the gloves o' manipulation. gloves of manipulation prevented the need for a party rogue. could have a priest with a background which included a mechanics boost, and equipping the gloves o' manipulation would more than suffice to be making the priest as good as any rogue o' similar level. ... traps is mostly in the game 'cause they is expected. obsidian developers has, more than once, commented 'bout the rather anemic reasons for including traps and lockpicking in poe/poe2. fine. there is gonna be traps and lockpicking in poe2 as there were in poe regardless o' arguments 'gainst such stuff. moot. the thing is, there is no reason to tie success o' such skill checks to a specific class. do the classes lack unique qualities such that class-based skill bonuses need make 'em differentiated? no. am admitted surprised by how well the poe developers handled their classes. create 11 genuine unique classes is much more difficult than it might sound. sure, there were some slippage during the beta and with the release o' the expansions as class roles began to blur a bit, but for the most part, each class played unique, and the skills were almost a complete non-factor in promoting diversity. do the class-based skill bonuses promote character customization? 'course not. class limits is, axiomatic, limits on customization. am not a fan o' classes to begin with, but as noted already, the developers o' poe did, in our estimation, a fantastic job o' creating their unique classes. however, the more customization options you link to a class, the greater is the Decrease in player customization. why can't your rogue be having the best possible lore score? why can't your wizard be the best mechanic? is no good reason for such limits. let the player be unique. remove the class-based skill bonuses. make player backgrounds more significant and diverse to account for the missing bonuses. do as we suggest and gloves problem is solved while simultaneous increasing the freedom o' a player to customize their character. win-win. HA! Good Fun! I'm not sure I agree here... I think class-based skill bonuses make sense because they would normally result from the character's experience in a certain discipline or other. *sigh* see this so often and is so limited... and mostly wrong. who is to say your priest weren't a clockmaker or locksmith before, or as part o', his religious observances? stewart the grimm, as part of his adoration for hylea, created cuckoo clocks of extraordinary beauty and sophistication. unfortunately, hylea turned her back on stewart when she learned her favored craftsman were killing beautiful little songbirds for his clocks. stewart, to all outward appearances, continued his veneration of hylea as well as the crafting of his marvelous clocks, but in secret, skaen had won for himself a grimm and determined new disciple. etc. tell us what "makes sense" as regards a limit on player customization is no more than an admission o' lack o' imagination. rationalize the existing scheme is not the best way to approach such issues. question what is purpose o' the limit. ask how the mechanic advances the purpose. ok. but tell us the mechanic, which w/o question limits character customization, "makes sense" is complete absent any compelling quality. lacks imagination and ignores fact we are talking 'bout a game. "it makes sense reticulated plate amour should be almost 10x superior to hide armour and such plate isn't actually as cumbersome as people suppose." "it makes sense a fireball the size of a mastodon should be doing more damage than a rogue with a glorified steak knife." etc. makes sense would have our characters dying horribly w/I the first 30 minutes of gameplay. is best to not go to such a place. HA! Good Fun!

there is more to the story... but not much. two girls, in an attempt to publicize their new burrito biz, tell the tale o' how they learned the tortilla making trade. 'posedley they "peeked in the window" of every abuela they could find, and asked every hispanic woman they could, for the secrets o' tortilla construction. most o' the Latinas our intrepid millennials met were less than forthcoming, but slowly the girls unlocked the secret o' the perfect tortilla. now obvious the story is a whole lotta hogwash, and Gromnir mighta' added a little pt barnum (not much) to the tale, but then one person responded to the girl's story o' tortilla mastery by questioning the ethics o' their quest. taking the cooking secrets o' these Mexican women for profit, w/o any kinda compensation, seemed rather exploitive to one observer. ... next thing you know, the girls and their tall tale has landed 'em smack dab in the middle o' the kinda petit civil rights battles which happens so frequent these days. "Some recent campus actions border on the surreal. In April, at Brandeis University, the Asian American student association sought to raise awareness of microaggressions against Asians through an installation on the steps of an academic hall. The installation gave examples of microaggressions such as “Aren’t you supposed to be good at math?” and “I’m colorblind! I don’t see race.” But a backlash arose among other Asian American students, who felt that the display itself was a microaggression. The association removed the installation, and its president wrote an e-mail to the entire student body apologizing to anyone who was “triggered or hurt by the content of the microaggressions.”" Atlantic, September, 2015 *shrug* the headline gd shares leaves out the actual exploitation complaint which were central to the brouhaha in question, but ultimately the battle were still kinda silly. am personal left flaccid by triggers and microaggressions and the majority o' similar such nonsense. is so minor and ridiculous considering the actual racial problems which persist in this country. in any event, there is more to the story, but not much. HA! Good Fun!

as an aside, when Gromnir played, the big issue were pills: steroids and painkillers. abuse painkillers and chances o' a crippling injury increases. fear were not being able to get out of bed w/o help by age 40. on the other hand, steroids were potential killers... literal. not only were steroids banned by the ncaa, but they were illegal and they had all kinda side effects. suicide and inability to control rage were at the top o' the list. death, albeit likely a eventuality to be confronted decades remote, were also a possibility for the steroid user. we never took steroids or abused painkillers precisely 'cause we knew we would never play nfl, but we likely would have done so if we thought we had a serious shot at being drafted by an nfl team. the brain injury stuff is different. do everything right. avoid pills. still you possible suffer brain injury. back when we played, recurring concussions were something to be concerned 'bout, but a concussion were when you actual lost consciousness, yes? concusions were something to laugh 'bout as long as the concussed player managed to get up off the turf. *chuckle* you really got your bell rung on that one, eh? the thing is concussions weren't necessarily what we thought they were, and brain trauma clear occurs even w/o concussions. we delivered (and received) more than a couple (hundred) decleaters. we hit guys with the intent o' knocking 'em senseless. we received helmet stickers for particular brutal tackles. we were batman concussed once, but am unable to guess how many times we likely exposed self and others to brain trauma. we avoided all the stuff we were s'posed to avoid. no painkillers other than tylenol. no steroids. heck, we even avoided sleeping with the starting qbs girlfriend when the opportunity presented itself. we thought we were being careful. we didn't know... not really. HA! Good Fun!

you would be wrong. we had a recent reunion with our college teammates, and we played football with a number o' guys who went on to the pros. (actual, as hard as it is to believe, we played high school with 2 guys who eventual played nfl.) this is news, and is increasingly discussed by those who played. the guys on the team who hit so hard they broke helmets were heroes back in the 80s. today, most o' us look back and say, "how could we have been so stupid?" think 'bout it; the guys we played college football were already representing the top .05% athletic gifted people in the US. in general, these were some o' the healthiest guys you would ever meet, and they exercised strenuous and regular for most o' their lives. our reunions is disturbing for the myriad health problems we display as a group. beyond the expected orthopedic stuff, our reunion were marred by more than a couple missing suicides. folks with mental health problems and persistent/terrible headaches who showed at reunion told us o' the numerous folks who did not make it to the reunion and how the absent folks were often far worse off than any o' us present. and yeah, we is honest to admit how if we were 20 years old today, chances are if we thought we had a real chance to play pro ball (we didn't btw), we would take the risks even knowing the future consequences... consequences we didn't fully realize at the time. the thing is, at 48, such a choice has far different calculus. most o' the guys we played with were the best-o'-the-best athletes in the nation. no joke. they woulda' excelled at soccer or lacrosse or baseball or whatever. chances is good most o' the guys we played with woulda' been able to get a scholarship to play any number o' sports if they coulda' gone back in time and started _______ when they instead started playing football. at 48, the notion o' receiving a scholarship to Cal for soccer instead o' football has appeal we couldn't possible have comprehended at 20. even so, the new brain study stuff is news, and it is discussed. is a constant fear for any guy who played college or pro football and can't find the tv remote or his car keys a bit too frequent these days. is craig's emerging temper issues a personality/character problem, or is he gonna end up like mike webster in 10 years? this stuff scares the p00p outta many nfl players, and more than a few college players, and is not something which were discussed much even back in the 90s. is not particular funny.

Should they have less say? It's obviously a very tricky situation. Right now there is a decent argument for everyone being unhappy, which probably means something is being done right. You said California isn't marginalized and then justified why it should be marginalized. That's all I'm saying, let's be realistic about what the electoral college does to populated states. I don't think it is that big of a deal, I could always move to Wyoming if it really bothered me. Also I'd argue with California being some liberal wonderland. The reality is it can be quite conservative. CA booted Gray Davis out of office and put in a Republican and it voted to pass Prop 8. I'd argue the problem lies in a weak Republican leadership structure. This the state that produced Reagan, afterall, and he is probably the most popular Republican in recent history. True, sadly I have no way with words. How bout I say this about the marginalization. I'll say it doesn't because it's not a system to grant power to the majority, it's a system that grants power to everyone. To do so, there is a limit of resources and because of that there is a cap to prevent total power. So states with much bigger populations may seem like they are being marginalized, when in reality they have basically surpassed the high score long ago and get no higher. It's not a system to reward high scores (even though higher population does grant u more power than others), it's a system designed to keep everyone playing instead of one or a few people to keep deciding what game we gonna play. Make more sense? Agree. Except for one thing. California can have more electoral votes if they want them. All they have to so is stop running off the middle class. They are losing votes, not gaining them. If I was Hurlshot I'd have packed up the family and headed east long ago. population in ca has increased steadily (+5.36% since 2010), and while it is not top ten for rate of increase, it still beats, amongst many others, tennessee (+4.81% since 2010... 'ccording to us census bureau). *shrug* the perception o' ca rare matches the reality and the political identity o' the state is one such misapprehension. get out of a few o' the major urban areas and you is gonna see much conservative. largest industry in CA is still agriculture, and the farmers and rural californians are much tending to be conservative voters. the community where Gromnir lives, near sacramento, had overwhelming numbers o' trump signage visible during the 2016 elections. gated community with a significant number o' former military folks. etc. sure, the overall population skews towards liberal, but is no shortage o' extreme conservative communities for those looking for likeminded folks. 'corse, things have changed considerable since late 80s when we first arrived in ca. today we do have educated friends (more than a couple) who honest believe all crazy/wrong people is conservative. sure, not all conservatives is bad people, says our liberal friends, but all the nutters are voting republican. really? back in the late 80s, the bay area, humboldt county, a few outlier hippie communes and a handful o' coastal/urban neighborhoods in so cal were genuine liberal bastions, but the state as a whole were hardly a liberal wonderland. even when we had democrat majorities, it were hardly an overwhelming majority. in recent years, conservative has become a dirty word in many locations 'round the state. even so, the reason for leaving ca is not politics per se. you wanna live in a community o' like-minded conservatives in ca and you not need look hard to do so. move less than 50 miles inland from the coast and places such as davis become almost islands in a conservative sea. sure, folks leaving ca will bemoan the politics, but the real reason for most people leaving the loopy state is the cost o' living... and ca cost o' living were disproportionate high compared to the rest o' the country even when the conservatives were in charge in the 80s and 90s. better job prospects and lower cost o' living has resulted in a kinda mini-exodus from ca, but overall growth rather is still top 20... and better than tn. HA! Good Fun! ps the sierra nevadas is superior in all ways to the smoky mountains (tongue-in-cheek), and the tallest mountain in the contiguous 48 is in ca's sierra nevadas, not the rockies. ansel adams came to ca to take a few photos o' the sierras. stuck around for the 75 years.

as a libertarian, gd should be, at the very least, conflicted. is the individual STATES which decide how to apportion votes. maine and nebraska, for instance, is not winner-take-all. in the aforementioned states, 2 electoral votes go to overall state winner, and rest of votes go to the winning candidate based on victory in popular vote in each district. can't bring 'bout universal change w/o abridging state rights. HA! Good Fun!

beta weren't as long as many recollect, given the original release target. beta started late august 2015(2014) for a game projected to release late 2015 (2014). sure, in part 'cause o' the beta feedback the game were delayed, but if one were to assume a similar 3-4 months before projected release, then a analogous schedule for poe2 as for poe would have earliest beta starting in late november or december. needs be patient. HA! Good Fun! edit hmmm... am thinking we missed a full year o' poe beta somewheres. 2014 august, no? edit 2: mixed up years... still, beta were short(er).

There's no chance either Libertarians or Greens will ever become a viable party, I wouldn't bet on that. The numbers are going up every election since 2000. Too slow for my liking but heading in the right direction. http://independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/12/growth-in-libertarian-vote-percentage-in-us-federal-races-2004-2016/ numbers can be misleading. http://www.ballot-access.org/2001/0101.html compare http://ballot-access.org/2017/01/29/january-2017-ballot-access-news-print-edition/ libertarians as percentage o' the overall popular vote for house, senate and/or President ain't actual changed much since 2000. got a few more seats, but actual % increase in people voting libertarian has changed less than a full percent. throw you a bone and say for the sake o' argument that libertarians has increased as representative o' a percentage o' the voting public by one full % point. hopeful you ain't prognosticating another 1% every 16 years. to makes meaningful impact, probably need to be in the ~20% range, yes? so, at the current rate o' increase we should be anticipating a serious libertarian presence in... 2321? HA! Good Fun!

depends on your metric, but if you are going by party affiliation o' Congress, President and state governors, then early 1930s would likely be the last time we saw similar %s. herbert hoover and the 71st Congress gave the republicans overwhelming numbers in Washington, although their extreme short-lived dominance might be a historical lesson for those current in power. so, 1930s. 'course the 1930 democratic party would be unrecognizable to most folks today. red state v. blue state nomenclature, which actual only got started 'cause o' tv coverage and arbitrary color assignations by networks on their visual display/maps (color designations actual changed a few times in early years) were largely reversed back in the early 30s, and for decades to come. heck, such inversion were commonplace well into the 60s. the cornerstone o' Kennedy's election platform were not civil rights. Kennedy were a hawk who were primarily running as the Stop-Russian-Menace alternative to his republican opponents. were kennedy who created the "special relationship" 'tween the US and Israel. heck, were kennedy who approved and executed the bay o' pigs. point is we believe it is more likely we see an evolution o' the existing parties rather than an emergent 3rd party. short o' drastic/cataclysmic economic circumstances or a party-wide scandal o' brobdingnagian proportions, evolution o' the parties makes more sense and has more historic basis than does extinction level events. HA! Good Fun! ps keep in mind that summer o' last year, the prediction were the republicans were the party which were gonna be nadir. after the forgone conclusion o' a democrat President being elected in 2016, along with likelihood o' democrat control o' the senate... not to mention the likely prospect o' a more sympathetic Court, the pundits were already calling for republicans to do some deep soul searching. less than six months pass and everything changes.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/30/sports/espn-ed-cunningham-football-concussions.html?smid=tw-nytsports&smtyp=cur&_r=1 am personal inching closer to a similar decision regarding football. why the delay? lack o' character on our part. as an aside, we do believe Ezekiel Elliot's appeal were handled poor. ultimately the appeal shortcomings will be a non-issue, but such will help further delay the process as the nfl once again fumbled (yeah, we went there) the arguable easiest part o' the elliot situation. HA! Good Fun!

evidence tekēhu is a bard? stance pretty much screams ak-tor. rosbjerg might not think it is funny, but... video HA! Good Fun! Aren't the two choices for his starting class chanter and druid? Chanter is PoE's version of a bard. am aware chanter is poe bard, and yes, most characters get 2 start options, but we suspect tekēhu will be written as a chanter/bard, regardless o' mechanical starting class options. edit: kana, for instance, were a chanter, but he were less bard-like than black isle's grobnar. kana were a scholar. tekēhu appeared to have a flute in concept art, and his stance is... dramatic. bard. HA! Good Fun!

"I don't believe anything ritten in support of the NFLK or their decisions when it comes to stuff like this." which is precise why your opinion is easily ignored. you made your decision based on nothing save for the fact the nfl were involved in the process. "Every single person listed there are biased pieces of crap." provide support. explain to us how ken houston and peter harvey woulda' been biased so as to make 'em incompetent to deliver a useful opinion regarding elliott? you got a couple o' the most respected lawyers in the country. got an nfl hall o' famer with an unimpeachable reputation. got a diverse group. even if you could convince a reasonable person o' the bias o' one o' the four, you is looking darn obtuse trying to suggest all four were incapable o' giving meaningful feedback. https://nflcommunications.com/Pages/CONFERENCE-CALL-RE---EZEKIEL-ELLIOTT-DISCIPLINARY-DECISION-.aspx http://www.latimes.com/sports/nfl/la-sp-cowboys-elliott-suspension-20170811-story.html comments, particular from mr. harvey, is not hard to find. > this is what conservatives actually believe image well, no. for the most part, Gromnir is conservative. am actual in favor o' considerable deregulation efforts. you got no idea how difficult it is to get any kinda major development project going in the US these days. environmental impact studies and community impact studies and water use studies and dozens more, all which take considerable time (often years) and may be expanded during course o' a project. am not 'gainst such studies per se, but some serious streamlining needs to occur. am in favor o' judicial restraint and state rights. am in favor o' lowering taxes on business-- is a persistent myth that US businesses don't pay much tax. converse, is far too many ways for the top 1% to avoid paying personal taxes. am in favor o' strong national defense. etc. up until a few years ago, folks woulda' been content to categorize us as a fiscal conservative with hardcore libertarian leanings where fundamental constitutional rights is concerned. am mostly conservative, and we thinks the quoted wod bit is, at best, eye-roll worthy. ... even eight years ago, folks such as wod woulda' been dismissed as being nothing more than a lunatic fringe element on the far right o' the political spectrum. the majority o' americans, including politicians, were centrist. is one o' the things which baffled europeans 'bout obama. sure, obama talked like a european socialist, but he weren't in any meaningful sense. for more than 60 years, conservative and liberal has had different meanings in the US compared to the rest o' the world, but such is changing, and the degree and speed o' the change has been dramatic. wod were lunatic fringe. nowadays, we suspect he is +20% o' the total population and near 40% o' conservatives. is still not fair to color all conservatives with wod crazy paint, but he is no longer easily dismissed as aberration. even so, wod is not representative o' the breadth and depth o' American conservatives any more than antifa nutters who attack abortion clinic protesters with thrown bottles and swinging baseball bats represents liberal or libertarian. don't make same hasty generalization mistake sharp and wod is wont to do. am suspecting you were mostly joking, we did see the image after all, but it is too easy to get into the habit o' making categorical condemnations. HA! Good Fun!

And that is an alternative fact. There are carbon sequestration technologies that could make coal plants cleaner than natural gas. It's the expense that makes it questionable. you didn't read the article, or the quote. sequestration doesn't actual emit and is addressed in the article. again, "Only one coal plant in the United States, the Petra Nova project in Texas, actually captures CO2 in this fashion, having come online in January with the help of $190 million from the Obama administration." the quote you selective reply to is in reference to actual attempting to scrub or clean coal to reduce emissions. HA! Good Fun!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-25/yellen-gives-more-swan-song-than-job-audition-in-jackson-speech other than the hurricane, this might actual be the most important news o' the last week. no doubt some folks recollect Gromnir complaints 'bout clinton era bank deregulation. bush attempted to reign in some o' the freewheeling bank excesses and lost a battle with gop congress from which he never fully recovered- he never again went 'gainst his party in Congress. bank deregulation is, in our estimation, one o' the more terrifying ideas being advanced by trump. we has noted how Presidents don't have near as much impact on the economy as many believe, and the ways in which Presidents do significant impact the economy is rare comprehended at the time pivotal choices is made. yellen is correct, but she is hammering nails in her own coffin. am hopeful she can find a way to maintain the federal reserve chair, 'cause the alternative has us likely repeating 2008 economic meltdown... albeit long after trump is outta office. HA! Good Fun!
