  1. You have to be kidding? Bao-Dur's Remote helps? I have never seen that...Once I had T3 help, he must have been nearby to join in as in many other games it was just me. But then I never tried running around the ship. Sounds like fun!
  2. I was looking at some other gaming sites and there are other games that had that problem with the onboard sound but no solution was given except to get the drivers from your MB maker and update and/or flash the bios. I would highly recommend never using onboard video or sound for gaming. If it's a new rig it might be possible to get your seller to upgrade to a regular soundcard for little cost. (You can also tell them some programs won't run sound with the system as-is). Good luck to you, hope you get it worked out one way or the other.
  3. Appcompat.txt is just the report file that gets sent to MS when it asks you do you want to send an error report in? I don't think anyone except the folks at MS could decipher what the error information inside contains. You might try uninstalling, reboot, re-install. Check drivers
  4. It was the same with Carth. Too whiny many said. Of course if you played a female, Bastila was a cold fish to have to carry along for the ride, playing a male character she was fun to tease. As to Disciple; Perhaps the dislike comes from him portrayed as a straight goody-two shoes character and many play DS. Or even when some are playing grey/LS characters, his path/way of thinking is too light side? I thought Disciple was a decent character all in all, perhaps a little too righteous for my taste if anything but better than Atton for a romance option. (Sorry ladies I thought Atton was ok but he was no Carth or Han Solo). Bao Dur and Candyman should have been romance options...sigh
  5. Revan, yes...she has to reunite with Carth! :D
  6. They were aboard the harbinger that arrived at the mining colony.
  7. Make sure Norton Internet Security or Zone alarm security suite is off when trying to start the game. (It may not have anything to do with these type programs however there are a large amount of newer games that get a black screen/won't run or run slowwwww when these programs are running in background.)
  8. Beware Spellforce 2 it uses StarForce. Glad you enjoyed the game. I hope Obsidian makes a Kotor 3.
  9. Disciple...Modded would be Candyman! After traveling so long with jedi's the force had to rub off on him a bit/alot.
  10. Shame on you! lol Honestly tho, in K1 and K2 you can turn him into a melee monster. He was great even on the sf in k1. I'm not biased on Candyman...no really...
  11. Dxun/Onderon - I like mandalorians and candyman of course. Onderon seemed more like a real world than many others. I would add Kashyyyk except for the fact in-game it takes a wookie 5 minutes to say hello. gah
  12. I would have preferred to talk to party members before flying off into the void, but oh well.
  13. That was great! Thx for sharing! (w00t)
  14. Actually Kreia did say the council was the cause of the Exile's losing the force. (she lied to further her goals). I also believed from the beginning she lied about the force bond being fatal. Without that pull the Exile might or might not have gone to malachor later depending on alignment/temperment. Adlibbing here don't have the exact quotes: PC:Wait...the council did this to me? Kreia: What did you think? You suddenly lost all connection to the force for no reason? No. Imho as always... Cheers, FD
  15. I disagree. In fact Han had nearly the same line about c3po as did Atton with t3 when piloting away from a bad situation. Also your *except* is Carth's whole outlook on life, nothing like Han at all, imho. As to my K2 picks, I have no choice but to choose Candyman.
  16. I liked the settings, ranged, grenade, and jedi support a lot. I use ranged with many characters, and when a foe would get close they would melee, very well done. I like having an option to switch two weapon configurations a lot as well. The robes looked much nicer imho; in #1 I would not wear one, in this game I did. Creating items at the benches was really nice. There were many times I never found enough light sabers, parts or even ranged/melee upgrades to fully upgrade everyone
  17. Um...you were hatched I guess and don't have one?
  18. Ah, then you have learned nothing...(similar to what Kreia says to you) Even if I make a lousy ds'er I can see the reasoning, just as Kriea says, aiding them, taking on their challenges strengthens you and weakens them.
  19. Spot on...My family hated me playing kotor 2 to hear more where that came from constantly. The rest of the combat comments did not bother them at all. In fact if I play now its with headphones so no one is annoyed except me lol. I personally liked Disciple...His healing skill comes in oh so handy when playing the hardcore mod. there were times between his healing and force healing it was the only thing that saved me. The only thing I don't like is if going the darkside route even if you max influence the lightsiders still act/talk lightside. But that's a game mechanic problem not really a single character problem as they all are that way.
  20. Bah...I had to cheat to be evil...I make a terrible ds'er in both kotor games...sigh
  21. Canderous/Jolee On korriban, so many funny lines. My favs are when Jolee threatens to spank Candyman, and when Candyman threatens to wring Jolee's neck. lol
  22. Agreed. I had light side mastery and had killed only Vrook till the enclave where the remaining masters attacked me. Of course I tried all paths/conversations with Kreia as well and they all ended the same.
  23. Oooo TYTY...I didn't try that. Tricky trying to get influence with Kreia in the party all/most of the time. My crystal will explode soon from all the alignments hits and bouncing light/dark I have been doing. lol
  24. Is there anyway to gain influence with kreia (while in party), lying saying you will help Azkul take Khoonda and not have to kill Vrook and the administor at the end? I didn't mind killing Vrook at all but it seems to lead to having to kill the other Masters and Kriea then pronounces you are a total failure and force drains you. I am trying a game out to get max inf with Kreia (and a bit extra exp) just for kicks. I found it strange when lying to Azkul, Kreia said my outcome was very good (and got influence) and now I could play Khoonda/Azkul how I see fit. But I couldn't find a single path that allowed me to let Vrook or the administrator live. I could go back to Azkul and tell him I changed my mind but then lost all influence I gained with Kreia. Any experts out there have any ideas or is it a hopeless case to get max influence with Kreia in party at all times?
  25. I can't say for sure why I enjoyed K1 more. Maybe "darkness" is not my thing. I guess I'm still hoping for a Revan closure of somesort in K3. Don't get me wrong k2 was a fine game. Peragus however was just too repetitive for multiple run-throughs of the game for me. It almost made me cringe as much as the turret mini-game in K1. In K2- The good and bad guys were the same no matter what. The influence system was a nice thought but it didn't pan out. Sure you could change the alignments of a party member but they still had light or dark reactions based on what they started out as/scripted as- to whatever you did so it was kind of moot to bother except for Jedifing/backstory. I also felt the music was more starwarsy in K1 (at least for me) and set the tone wherever I went. Atmosphere, music, scenery etc., really sets an rpg mood for me at least. Maybe a list of what I didn't like might help: K1 - Turret Mini-game (As one who planet hops ALOT it got so annoying, even for friends who liked it got tired of that real quick). K2- Well I can't really list that here. Might be spoilers for some. But I can say it's more than one item. lol
