Shock horror an orginal game
metadigital replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
I share a similar reticence when it comes to Japanese games, as I seem to have played all the same ones as you (or are they all like that -- no Donkey Kong had a gorilla and two Italians). What's ICO? And it sounds really interesting. I don't have a PS2, then again, they're about -
So Adam Miller et alia are on some sort of suggestions programme for NwN2 ? Any gossip?

I think it is a general evolution rather than a specific revolt ( :D ). Certainly, it has been so for as long as I can remember ... all that "work hard, do anything" ethic since WW2 probably tipped the balance, though ...

Are you sying you cannot read the writing as it scrolls too fast across the screen? Or are you unable to see any writing as it is flashing past until a pause for player input? The latter is a memory bug, and is random; it can be fixed by restarting from the position you are in (you can comfortably save whilst it is happenning, assuming you don't want to read the bits that have only just flown by.) If your problem is the former, i.e. your reading skills are not sufficient to keep up, I don't think there is much you can do -- there might be an .ini file parameter to change, but I don't know it. (I doubt this is your problem, because you could always close your eyes and just listen: audible memory lasts for about 6-8 secs, as opposed to visual memory of a fractions of a second.) HTH

but that is the underlying formula that I think you will continue to see: * get 4 clues * endgame is triggered after you have the 4th clue one way to make it less predicatable is to keep the 4 clue thing but have more than 4 worlds you can navigate to (in addition to the introductory worlds, obviously). the location of the 4 clues changes every time....but it is not a wasted trip if you end up on a "non-clue" world because there are always sidquests to do and unique merchants to visit. I realize that creating the worlds is probably the most time-consuming aspect of this but one can dream anyway. MORE REPLAYABILITY!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen.

Did you read "The Best Plot Summary so far"? (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>)

hk 47 help
metadigital replied to The Sith Lord-- Darth Brodish's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It is possible to get HK-47 into a confrontation, despite all the cuts. Check out CanterwoodBoy's thread on Finishing K2 in 7 hours: (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>) -
It did feel like that, didn't it? I guess the argument would be that KotOR2 had deeper characters and an influence system to interact with them better. Well, that was the plan, I'm sure.

I sense a disturbance in the Force...
metadigital replied to Centaur's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You are just another sheep in the flock that end up in the larder of the Force Sensitives. PS Socrates is attributed with saying: The unexamined life is not worth living. I wonder what he meant ... -
Another end-game cut-plot stuff thread
metadigital replied to Cathari's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would add that it was told like we were watching a "what happened previously in KotOR:TSL" ... PS I thought Cathari's plot synopsis was sooo good it needed cpr! -

metadigital replied to JediMasterNalik's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ion Storm (male and female). Then to avoid confusion on later games I use the random function. -

Ah, the only power greater than evil self-interest: teenage lust!

Yeah, I think the calculation is all the energy produced by our sun for a few minutes just to power the transporter: that's a lot of juice! Other impracticalities are the focusing mechanism: obviously Heisenberg's Uncertainty makes it very difficult with any modern technology, however there is a possibility of using quantum "twin particles" and identifying one twin from each pair ... of course that means you have to create a pair of quantum particles for each existing single one, then use the copy particles to work out the map of particles, then convert and send the other particles to the target site (not overloading it with all that energy) and then re-create the creature using the map ... and the map would probably be larger than the beam of energised matter, as it would need all the administration data (like location and order and such). Phew. I think I'll walk. Incidentally, I forgot to mention that Gene Roddenberry only threw in teleportation in Star Trek as a device to avoid spending the entire episode landing the space craft and taking off again (remember this was before the Gemini test flights and Apollo Moon landings).

Where did you get this information from? Soylent Green are pure algae. I eat it for lunch every weekend. Man, if I wouldn't know better you'd just have spoiled my appetite... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It'sokay, they clean them up first. " (And I'm not so sure about Soylent Red and Blue ...)

Yes.

I wanna play. Can we play by email?

How do you define "evil"? Is it purely self-interest, or is it willful hurting of others for no gain, or something else ...?

... When will it be finished? " (Y'know, the whole series, from part I - XXCVII?) Also, what were you doing here? "

It's not uncommon for japanese adolescents to whip out and read some hentai on buses and trains, so... Of course now, when you hear the screams of cartoon virgins begging tentacles to stop what they're doing, you get to know what kind of hentai they're playing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Oh, no -- Chief, we've got a maniac on the loose and he's threatened to kill any Japanese school children he can find! What will we do?" "It's okay, detective: I have a plan. Listen to the virgin screams for the tentacles to stop ..."
