  1. I believe Aniken and Padm
  2. I want light-nun chucks. nun chucks! Mad Dog Nunchaku
  3. ... Not if you are an ardent fanboy. (Now, let's see, what''s all this character creation stuff ...? )
  4. Yes it is a higher purpose. Especially if she is correct She does what it takes to achieve her goal, not like she ever makes a secret of that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You seem to be arguing that because your character is a mindless psychopath, therefore your Exile was a "baddamuddafugga" than Kreia. Or not. Disseminating mindless pain and suffering may prove you are more evil, but using your intelligence to spread it even further -- like if Kreia was lying and the Force then she was much, much more evil than the Exile could ever be. I agree Kreia was certainly singleminded in her determination to , and if she sincerely believes what she spouts, then it is indeed arguable whether she is the epitamy of evil that she is being made out to be, or just a freedom fighter. As for how this relates to the two stories and their relative merits, I would agree the K2 had the potential to be a much better story: more complex characters and deeper issues, like the grey areas between Atris, Atton and Kreia. Unfortunately this potential was let down by shoddy writing. Yes, one had to read the dialogue more closely in K2; it didn't do any good, however, as under this scrutiny the script displayed no cohesion nor intellectual rigour. K1 wins by default. Even though the plot was one-dimensional and simple, it was a complete story. K2 was a dog's breakfast. PS Discussing plots should be done in the SPOILERS forum, and -- at the very least -- plot elements should be hidden with the conveniently supplied SPOILER tags.
  5. I disagree. 1930s Germany was a crucial turning point in global history. The interregnum in Europe had all the ingredients: extreme political views (Communism, Fascism, Totalitarianism), dire social circumstances (inflation meant that workers were paid every day, and the wheel-barrow load of notes were worthless, anyway), fear, mistrust, riteous anger, jealosy, ... you name it. Having a setting with a Fascist coup and an alternate future with a Communist government gives the two extreme political doctrines a sharp focus; the audience can clearly compare and contrast the two doctrines and see the impact on the human spirit. Fun and educational.
  6. Obsidian Entertainment have already confirmed that they will not be developing KotOR3.
  7. Surely you mean Unicron? In fact he died before they finsihed the movie...and if you listen carefully you'll notice Unicron's last lines were voiced by none other than Leonard Nimoy filling in for Orson Welles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are correct. My source of trivia will need to be checked for gremlins, however, because there is a further film listed in 1987, one year after The Transformers: The Movie (Beyond good. Beyond evil. Beyond your wildest imagination.), aka Mokushiroku Matrix yo eien ni. But if Orson died in mid sentence, then -- unless he was moonlighting at the time -- I guess that makes Unicron his last piece. PS Arcee was voiced by Sue Blue. PPS Orson Welles died in 1985 sparking rumors that Leonard Nimoy took over and provided the voice for Unicron. However, actress Susan Blu (Arcee) has since confirmed that Welles completed the voiceover work before he died. PPPS This film is considered the "bridge" between the second and third cartoon series, as several second-series characters are introduced here and several first-series characters are killed or altered (e.g. Megatron to Galvatron). PPPPS Many of the second season characters (Stunticons, Aerialbots, etc.) do not appear in the movie because they did not exist at the time the movie was written. However, they all suddenly appear in the post-movie episodes. PPPPPS Two Cyclonus-style robots are created in the movie; one from Bombshell (Insecticon) and one from Skywarp (Decepticon jet). Many fans have speculated which one became the "real" Cyclonus. Cyclonus was (apparently) originally intended to have many duplicates under his command ("and his armada..."), like Scourge and his Sweeps. However, only one duplicate was created on-screen and was never seen again after that shot. This has led fans to write fanfics about a character called "Armada". PPPPPPS The last film with Scatman Crothers before his death. PPPPPPPS The band who sings the songs on the soundtrack called "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way" and "Hunger" is listed on the soundtrack credits as Spectre General, but the band's name is actually Kick Axe. When the soundtrack was being assembled, they thought the name "Kick Axe" sounded too threatening, so they listed them as "Spectre General". The band was not notified about the change. PPPPPPPPS Almost all of the new characters that appear in the Movie were newly designed. The Hasbro toys were based on the Movie's character designs. The exception was Ultra Magnus, who already had a toy in the Japanese "Diaclone" line. His character model was based on the toy, and given new colors. PPPPPPPPPS Originally, Ultra Magnus was drawn and quartered by the Sweeps (his arms and legs were ripped from his body). This was changed a scene of his being blasted to death. However, the shot of the Sweeps firing at Magnus shows them using continous beams (almost as if they were ropes of energy), instead of laser blasts they are seen using in the rest of the movie. PPPPPPPPPPS The movie was being produced by the same company, and at the same time, as _G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987 video)_ . It had been agreed that both movies would suffer the loss of the lead heroes, Optimus Prime and Duke. Production had begun on G.I. Joe first, and was thus expected to be released first. During the production of the two films, G.I. Joe Got held up while Transformers finished production. Release dates were changed and Transformers got a theatrical release in 1986. Optimus Prime's death sparked some controversy and caused the writers to change Duke's death to a coma. G.I. Joe never got to the theaters, and was released to video instead. Had G.I. Joe been released first, Optimus Prime might have survived the movie. PPPPPPPPPPPS Some pre-movie characters have very short cameos: Huffer, Hound, Sunstreaker, and Snarl. PPPPPPPPPPPPS Grimlock's line to Kup, "Tell Grimlock about petro-rabbits" is a reference to John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" in which Lenny continuously asks George to "Tell me about the rabbits."
  8. But, there was any democratic event for Saudi Arabia? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Arab Idol": the power of capitalism has breeched the Iron curtain in the 80s with golden arches in Red Square, and the gloriously banal Pop Idol.
  9. Well, apparently so, as pictures aren't forthcoming. Still, if getting the office sufficiently presentable would delay NWN2's release by a month, then don't worry about it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, be careful what you wish for ... pointing a bright, camera-friendly light into the dank festoonery of wires, discarded computer supplies, miscellanous outer garments from seasons past, long-dead pizza boxes and their new, transgenic life forms ... I think if we just think it looks like Alex's room in Deus Ex:IW, or Eli's Lab in λ
  10. No, there is no homosexual romance in KotOR2.
  11. There is a test to become a Jedi Knight: Obi-Wan passed the test by killing the Sith Knight that offed Qui-Gon Jin. (Obviously that is not the normal test to accede to Knighthood, it just served the purposes of the Council at the time.) So I'm sure there's a bunch of tests that the orphans can try to pass.
  12. It's not an RPG, it's a FPS. The third one is the best, AFAIK, but I haven't played any of them yet.
  13. Start again. Or use the Influence adjuster on your savegame from Darth333's site.
  14. well, I think alignment is a misnomer. Force Sight should really be showing the hostility to the PC / party. But how is that possible?
  15. Yep I liked that too. "The Professional" or "Leon" depending on your country of viewing. Definitely not "Howard the Duck", or "Howard" as it was released later in the UK ... PS Optimus Prime was the last role for Orsen Welles.
  16. Wallachia sounds like it's in Poland! Moldova isn't that special ... except it's got Julie Andrews as Queen Clarisse Rinaldi. Ah, Duckula. Still doesn't beat DangerMouse.
  17. I would like it if the KOTOR games had 60 hours of content the 5th time you play. But not 500 hours of content! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it was 500 hours of interesting content, I'm all for it. Trouble is, it was pretty turgid stuff. You could watch the 24 hour Le Mans race live, in one sitting, too. But that's not what people do. Giving people a dictionary to read cover-to-cover is not content. Writers ought to be paid a lot more. A LOT MORE.
  18. That's not actually what I said. As I understand it, what's being suggested is that these experiments revealed the essentially evil nature of the participants, and I'm saying that the situations twisted essentially decent people into doing evil things. I haven't studied psychology, so what you've said is interesting to me. I'll reflect on it and try to meet some evil people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As my father was fond of saying to me ... "Everyone's nice until the money's on the table."
  19. Without the meaningless fed-ex missions and dribble dialogue of ES3.
  20. The first Matric film was and still is a classic. I often re-watch my boxed copy. The sequels are just Kung-Fu movies, there is no real philosophical content to get your teeth into. (Well, there is some there, but it's dumbed down. It's much more consistent that K2, however, which couldn't even decide or not. I didn't like the role they gave Morpheus in the sequels, in the original he was more the central character (like his name was meant to connote). The third one I thought was the worst. PS This topic should really be in the SPOILERS forum, for obvious reasons.
  21. I must say this topic is definitely bringing out the overactive (and undersexed) imaginations of the posters.
  22. The story of K2 was not thought out and had no foundation in any philosophy. It was just a bunch of cut scenes with talking heads speaking more gibberish than an early Star Trek TOS episode, spun together with meaningless fights and pointless dialogue trees. The characters, specifically Kreia, Atris and the Jedi Masters all contradicted themselves in their dialigues: some even in the same monologue, in adjacent sentences! It was like trying to understand a six-year-old's theory on the creation of icecream. Very poor.
  23. No,not really..the dacians were one of the thracian tribes..the biggest one actually... It was called Dacia as a province yes,tho the name is older and it's the way Romans called them, the greeks for example called them "geti" which I'm not sure if it exists in English.. After 106,the year in which the second war ended and Dacia was turned into a province,Latin is being used on a larger scale... It becomes the oficial language even after the Roman Empire abandons the teritory.. After that we get invaded a lot... But the now Roman-Dacian people remains there till this very day <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... And you even declared war on the Germans in WW1, for about two weeks until they overran your country. Thansk for the history lesson, Baley!
