  1. Perhaps this confrontation was meant to be at the Telos polar installation? If Atris was initially going to be Darth Traya under certain circumstances, then it would make sense to have the dialogue read by both actresses; this would support the hypothesis that the plan was scrapped pretty early on in the development cycle (before Kreia's voice actress had read that piece of the script).
  2. Actually, there's a file in there with Atris talking about her "bond with the exile" to Visas (907904KREIA212.wav) - makes me wonder if there was supposed to be a possible Keyser Soze moment where we find out Atris/Kreia are the same person or something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean, sort of like "Fight Club"? :D Still, that would have been a nice ending to have... wonder if the restoration people plan on putting that back in? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thats a good idea... i was thinking of that during the game too... was wondering wheter kotor 2 broke the no time travelling rule of starwars. also i was looking for any hints that she was a force ghost or doppleganger of atris... anyways, back to the topic... has anybody asked the developers or the distributors to tell the whole story? i mean if they cant wholy explain the happenings at the end that should equate to an unfinished product. also, the presence of tons cut material and modding should evoke some kind of response from them... even the petition isnt raising anykind of licensing heads... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cathari has done a pretty good job right here: (<{POST_SNAPBACK}>) Perhaps Atris was a discarded love-interest of a male PC ? I certainly noticed some pretty heavy hints of this in the dialogue.
  3. So nothing much to report from E3, then?
  4. Is Yann Mario or the toad? "
  5. Sounds like a good party member to have if you are a magic user ...
  6. The US has demonstrated a willingness to approach the complex political scenarios of the Middle East with all the subtlety of the metaphorical sledgehammer to crack the walnut. (The UK is not blameless, either, but at least their is an appreciation that some political situations can't be fixed within a presidential term of office.) The Middle East became the sewer of satraps because the West was too lazy and self-interested to get involved in any meaningful way, choosing the easy option to prop up whatever convenient despot happened to be in government in order to maintain the status quo, rather than implement decent foreign affair initiatives to encourage democratic processes and prevent concentration of too much power in the hands of too few of the wrong people. (Can you say "President Marcos was propped up by the US to maintain a military base in the Philippines, just near China" with me boys and girls?) The truth is that Iran is actually a totally different country to the bugbear of the eighties-nineties. Over half the population are teenage or younger (a dividend from the attritious wars with Iraq) and they are not particularly interested in any Jihad with the West. (But I'm sure the US will find some way to isolate the moderates and escalate the lunatic fringe into a position of power ... on current form.) You might as well say Turkey is not a democracy.
  7. Sune's PLAN X: Devise an horrendouly complex plan to life the sink. GO FOR GOLD! NEVA admit defeat! And if it fails, cut the chain to the sink and retrieve the buoy (plan B).
  8. That is a seriously good idea. Now I don't know about only two forms; although if you reached "Mastery" level in two forms that makes sense. (WeaponsMasters could choose from most forms, say six of the seven or eight forms, with Consulars and Sentinels having a (simplified) form of their own.) If you crate your own form, it would be a cross between the two forms already mastered, with perhaps a bias towwards defence or attack, depending on PC choice.
  9. Well, the panel appointed to investigate intelligence failures - appointed by Bush, mind you - conclusively said they weren't there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is absurd. The UK has evidence in the public domain that clearly shows the disparity between the intelligence and the stated intelligence by the coalition governments. It demonstrates that the intelligence given from the Intelligence Community (secret services, MI5, MI6, CIA, etc) had been pruned of all qualifying adjectives, like "allegedly", and all grading of the intelligence was replaced with exclamations. There is even a famous addendum, now totally discredited -- but never really believed, where the claim that Saddam Hussein could attack the UK within 45 minutes. They even plagerised some doctoral thesis from the interet -- the guy was interviewd because he was angry about it. And they had taken all his qualified assessments out of the text, too. (They famously had copied large sections verbatim, including an obvious spelling mistake.) There was a deliberate and demonstrable effort to misrepresent the facts and assessments -- what for? The only feasible answer to that is the US had a prior agenda, and the UK was looking for evidence to back it up.
  10. If you are referring to the increase in emissions from a cathode ray tube, the highest danger is the area immediately behind the monitor. LCD and plasma screens do not have any such issues.
  11. This is already implemented. RTFM
  12. There weren't any WMDs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But if there were he had time to hide them. "
  13. first I heard of it but I havnt been watching the news. Not exactly unexpected though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, Lucius.
  14. Of course I did, can't you read? " (Power attack is the third attack feat, and initially it takes DC off the attacking PC, which is a Bad Thing at low levels, but makes no nevermind at higher levels.)
  15. The Dutch have joined the French is a decisive vote against the new European Constitution.
  16. I wonder which Witcheta has possessed Volo?
  17. The NRA are there to overthrow the government in the case that it turns on the people ...
  18. It does work on Malachor V (PC version, patched). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I'll check when the team have finished their content patch. Until then I've uninstalled the game.
  19. Checked. Doesn't say. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You will get a dialogue option when talking to Bao-Dur after completing the necessary quests. There are a couple of fixtures: lens, crystal and focusing, I think, but all is revealed. You will be told when you get a piece. If all else fails, just go back to Bao-Dur (or swap him into your party) and ask him on the spot. It should update your journal, though -- perhaps you need to get another piece, or perhaps you already have them all?
  20. Doesn't stop the 'professionals' from releasing things... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Judging from the current methodology, it appears that the debugging is an integral part of the development cycle (as it should be) and so I would not expect the debugging process to take an inordinate amount of time. One thing is for sure, it'll take a lot less time than if any of us did it. "
  21. Critical Attack increases the critical attack range. For example, if your lightsabre has a critical atack range of 5% (i.e. criticals on a natural roll of 20 on a d20), then using Power Attack increases the critical threat by double (10% - i.e. a natural 19 or 20). Once the critical threat roll has been achieved, the die is "rolled" again, a normal "hot" indicates the critical attack hit, a miss is just a normal hit. Damage is rolled and any bonus due for critical strike is added as necessary (normally double damage minimum). So Critical Attack gives a larger spread of damage, whereas a Flurry gives a more even spread (because you attack more times with no double damages). At high levels the difference is almost negligible, and I think it might even tip the advantage to the Flurry Attack. Edit: made my dumb Power Attack - Critical Attack mistake disapear.
  22. Ooooooooo but the star maps were pretty.
  23. But you like Celine Dion ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *GASP* PS - The game looks like it has potential...unlike Volo's musical tastes. ^_^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is not always clear whether Volo is just agitating for the sake of it, or actually stating a bona fide opinion (some of his polemics are quite reasonable, I think, and some of his tastes very extreme :D ), but, yes, I think Volo actually like Celine Dion. (I heard someone say somewhere that he kissed her before she visited the orthodontist.)
  24. The Japanese are imaginative innovators whatever the subject, be it games, electronics or sex This had nothing to do with my marrying a Japanese woman though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think cause and effect have been reversed in your statement; thus: "My marrying a Japanese woman had everything to do with this" ...
