  1. *her or his " And as for Mothman's suggestion, I'd rather not play as a level 30 character at the beginning of the game or have a level 30 character mysteriously lose levels again just so we can play at level 1. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed! The beauty of the bemasked Revan dying in the early game is that no information about the character need be established, just the actions of Revan need to be judged for their consequences in the game.
  2. Yeah, I thought it was paced really well. When I replayed it (right through) a few weeks later (not in one session, though), it was a lot harder than I remembered it ... just shows you how the mind adapts to the environment ...
  3. AND woman. I'll thank you to be even-handed slanderous. Gruddanged bear-hugger. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I think you mean an even-handed libelist, as this is a written medium, not a spoken one.
  4. A lot of "regulars" are absent (co-incidentally, I assume). Or should I say, a lot of the "regulars who enjoy a contrary world-view for argument potential" are absent. Debates spark up, but without strong characters to argue the opposing sides, they become simple statements of belief: "I believe green fruits are better than yellow ones". Of course, you could always post a political topic. That way you'd be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.
  5. It will be doing a feat/stat check to see if the character can wear the armour. Have you cheated to add feats / increase stats / etc ? I've never had the problem.
  6. Now you know that the devs don't talk to you, don't you Ghostie. So don't go embarrassing yourself like this ... The only rational explanation is that the patch has been "de-prioritised". As to why this is the case, that is up for debate. It could be that LA just doesn't want to waste any more time, money and effort on a psat project (deminishing their already less-than-projected Return On Investment). It could be that they are busy developing something in-house, so that the secondary duty of Quality Assuring a patch (which is just as labour intensive as blue-sky development) has to take second place. It could also be down to complete ineptitude and incompetence. (I doubt it would be due to outright spite.)
  7. Developer #1: I don't like sand, so sorry, no Tatooine in the sequel. Developer #2: I don't like forests, so sorry, no Kashyyyk in the sequel. Developer #3: I don't like oceans, so sorry, no Manaan in the sequel. Developer #4: And I like rocks, they rock. Anyway, we need to place that Jedi from the droid planet somewhere... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's things I wish the KotOR (developer) characters hadn't said ...
  8. Only for the Mandalorians; they're like the Vikings that way ...
  9. Yeah, that's a valid and often glossed-over point. The entire marketing machine was pushing one game, and the development team delivered a completely different one! No wonder there were grumbles from the audience.
  10. That was your cue, Mr Schu ... On-Topic: Less than 24 hours until the deadline ...! (And guess what! Still no orders from all of you!)
  11. Othello. Though degenerate primitives tend to refer to it as Reversi. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed-li-dood-li-o! I woke up with this information at the ready. So my point is that the game will resemble Othello (Reversi), what with the Borg assimilating Dominion-infiltrated Romulan spies ... I think the Romulans need to have the (German) spy power. I am just not sure if it is for all the orders of that turn, or just a particular unit ... Looks like the Ferengi are an excellent spy network, too. They would work well co-operating with the Federation; I guess the same goes for the Romulans. Cardassians, though, what is their special power?
  12. No! Do you know what you're doing! Don't ...!
  13. ... Except that it is faster ... "
  14. Revan (complete with mask) dies spectacularly at the beginning of K3, sacrificing her life in order to set off a chain reaction of events that sets up the denouement of the game. We never see Revan's face, nor do we determine whether Revan was Evil, Good pretending to be Evil, Good, or Evil pretending to be Good ... because the final act of the game requires the input from the protagonist to choose the outcome (or does the protagonist have a choice? Is the Force dictating everyone's moves? Turn in, same Jedi time, same Jedi channel ...)
  15. Eat? You aren't an addict! I have been known to game solidly for about a day, without stopping for food ... When Half-Life 2 came out, I installed it (which took until about noon) and then played it until about 4am, fell into bed with bleeding eyes, woke up at about 7-8am, and finished it at about 11am ... :D Don't get me started on Civ 2 ... I lost months of my life, a couple of days straight at a time (I was younger then ) ...
  16. SNAP-a-doodle-do! This game is going to be a lot like that two-player game where you swap pieces between black and white, depending on what piece is next to them (my brain has temporarily ceased to retrieve information from the long-term archive, at this time of the morning, so I cannot recall the name of it). Federation switching hostile enemies to neutrals, Borg assimilating enemies, Dominion infiltrating them ... ... Ferengi trading with them, means that they can't be attacked, whilst the Romulans are cloaked, and Cardassians are amphibiously moving in the retreat phase ...
  17. Only in your world, Archie. (A ratio of 3:2 would be the same as a relative attack strength of 1.5.) But that's okay, let's stick to the ruleset that we can all read, eh?
  18. Yes, but we aren't using the German ruleset, which is the one with the 3:1 ration wierdness. We are using the English ruleset, which has the 1.5 superior attack advantage.
  19. Um, yeah, that's true. The bit you quoted is from the German rules, which we aren't using.
  20. Im not sure I understand your question. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On the map, the Borg have "Borg Territory", which is supposedly in the Delta Quadrant. To get to the Gamma Quadrant, there is a convenient wormhole at DS9, Bajor and Antares. There doesn't appear to be a similar wormhole-thing to get to the Delta quadrant ... ... The map is divided in resource-rich areas (corresponding to land) and resource-poor areas (corresponding to sea). There is no common boundary between the gamma quadrant and the remainder of the galaxy. The only connection is represented by the wormhole, which is not a space itself, but consists of the spaces of the alpha quadrant (DS9, Antares and Bajor) and spaces of the gamma quadrant (Gemma and Idran). There are 36 supply centres (SC), so the victory crieteria is 19 SC. ...
  21. Yup - in fact the infiltration can get passed along (via dislodgement)! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... 11. A Dominion player who has infiltrated a cloaked fleet or army is informed of its location and orders every turn until he "uses up" his infiltration of that unit. ...
  22. Do we agree with that interpretation? Also, what is your interpretation of access to Borg Space? Is it just any territory adjacent, or is there a bottleneck, or what?
  23. So the Dominion could wait for ten turns and then turn everyone against each other ...? (Except the Borg, and the Enterprise ...)
  24. It's out there. Trust no-one ...
