  1. Yes, but it will take about a year for GAMES to actually use DX10.
  2. So that's what happened! I must be about 100 of those read requests ...
  3. What did you email the website owners?
  4. And that is the most suitable punishment I can think of.

new link as the old one does work anymore. Nice. linkie IMDb trailer linkies
  7. Well, I think it was a good idea ... maybe it could have been implemented better, but it wasn't awful: certainly adds a bit of depth to the usual selection answer options "1, 2, 5, 2, 4, ..." etc
  8. It may not be as popular with others, but the persuasion mini-game is in fact a meta-game ("flatter" instead of actually selecting the flattery, etc). Nice innovation, even if it isn't as popular as it may have been. I didn't think it was that bad, personally.
  9. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
  10. And I will play them with the patches.
  11. Um, you are now saying that all (RPG) games would not be enjoyable. Which is patently the reverse of the evidence. The comment was not "games on handheld versus games on PC", it was "what sort of RPG on the handheld".
  12. I was drawn into watching The Sting (again) last night, despite being very tired and wanting to go to bed ... Paul Newman was even better than Roberts Shaw and Redford. Brilliant film, with great wheels-within-wheels for all the (healthily) paranoid out there.
  13. Converting a less-detailed signal is AT LEAST going to slow the system down (especially if it is just software). Not exactly conducive to demanding high-definition graphics in the latest games. Also, the fact that they are quoting "p" as "parity" and not progressive makes my query the factual basis of the review ... sounds more like the "software upgrade" will convert 1080i to 1080p. Otherwise it is just an interpolation heuristic.
  14. Iron Jack Flint A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
  15. You're assuming that the US is willing AND able to publish their reasons, goals and requirements into the public domain. Which is kinda na
  16. Wait. You've never had, ever, a PC game freeze, crash to destop or one that allowed you to kill a certain NPC vital to the completion of the main quest? In any PC game ever? You've never played Morrowind? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have played Morrowind ... I just stopped playing pretty early on (about twenty hours in). Just loaded Fallout and working my way through it. As well designed as the combat system is, it just isn't that much fun. I understand the idea of micro-managing every aspect of a game. But it just isn't as much fun as, say, the way the FPS genre do it (twitch gaming). I intend to get Bloodlines, too. But my playrate is at an all-time low, currently. Maybe they will add a Live component later?
  17. You'd better have a power cord for the N-Gage, because a game of Civ will not be a brief experience ... :D The problem is that Java is not an ideal language for gaming. Sheesh, it's only now that multiple threading is even beginning to be pragmatically implemented (multiple-core CPUs), so a programming language that's main claim to fame (apart from its alleged portability) is multiple-threading. I played a bit of Snakebyte on my old Nokia ... the mobile telephone keypad is hardly conducive to game playing, though ...
  18. Makes perfect economic sense to create a jRPG, in fact it would be foolish to make anything else! Why would a jRPG not work on a handheld? As opposed to a PC?
  19. 2 3 9 10 12 14 15 16
