  1. I dunno man. It seems to be very heavy handed on the creative control over the game. It made it sound as though its not an Obsidian's game at all but rather as a form of outsourcing personnels that Red Eagle Games currently do not have the expertise at the present. In short, Obsidian apparently seemed to have far fewer creative control in this Wheel of Time game than New Vegas. Hence its really hard for me to get excited at all.
  2. I see lots of hyping on the graphical department. Any word when the next game trailer is coming out?
  3. Jin-Roh is mostly about the retelling of Red Riding Hood in a post World War 2 setting in Japan which the Germans had conquered instead of the Americans. There's a manga series based on it called "Hellhounds: Panzer Corps" published by Dark Horse if you're interested.
  4. Getting my preordered Mass Effect 2 CE today. Feel happy for me today wooooooooooooooo~ Unfortunately I never got around finishing ME1 so I never got the needed savefile. =\
  5. NMA checked with Mark Morgan and it seemed to be unfortunately untrue. http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53572
  6. Get Modern Warfare 2. Its enough to cover the time needed until a family member of yours recovers. Best wishes on that regard.
  7. If it plummets, it'll simply reskin Mike Thornton into a emo hard rock punk aka Prince of Persia's Warrior Within in the sequel.
  8. Good find. It certainly sheds some light on the Technical Aptitude and Sabotage skills. What technical aptitude does from what I read are: -Increase cool down rate or increase its duration of skill usages -Increase no. of grenades in the inventory -Improve medikit effectiveness -More gadget slots which means you can bring more gadgets along
  9. Menze is one of the Obz artist right?
  10. I like what I've seen despite in its alpha stage. Some notable aspects: -Distinctive sounds that helps alot with immersion -Very well-done lightning ambience -Smooth frame rate gameplay that J.E had always been targetting for -Third person shooter RPG -NPCs are killable(?) But since its at Pre-Alpha stage still: -Animations despite some of them being well done, they're still incomplete -U.I is not completed yet -Other gameplay aspects were not implemented/demonstrated yet such as setting up traps and turrets or even possible melee encounters Regardless, I'm feeling very depressed now to be reminded the game's cancelled. I felt Aliens had a better chance to be made into a game than an original IP since its brand is better known in the mainstream. But I still hold hopes the game assets and engine can be salvaged somehow either way. WH40K: Space Hulk maybe? Or this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incubation:_Time_Is_Running_Out Cheers Obsidian.
  11. The female body physique in Mass Effect are hawt. A nice firm butt, a set of normal sized tracts of land without the need to turn into himalayas and an overall well toned body. I wish I could say the same for other video game female characters who tend to be crafted to please hormone raging tards. But again, the Prince of Persia's Elika's hawt too.
  12. Looks like Half-Life will gonna be having a competitor.
  13. While Avellone did say that in an interview, the subsequent interviews with other Obsidian devs. stated the contrary when a question was asked if Obsidian would be interested in making NWN3 (Mentioned they have learnt much with toolmaking in NWN2, toolset can be further improved on in further sequels blah blah).
  14. like homeworld, deus ex, and myth, the game has yet to be surpassed in its genre (if you define said genre somewhat narrowly) You know your games. Sorry for going off-topic. I'll just want to add DESCENT: FREESPACE amongst the unbeaten genre.
  15. Actually, the game's already finished according to various interviews. Its now simply the matter of when will SEGA release it.
  16. Playing Mass Effect to get ready for ME2's release this month. Hopefully I could finish the game in time.
  17. Get me a plane ticket and a Visa to the States, I'll be set to go.

That's my opinion along with possibly others who share the same. No matter how you are critical to other people's opinions, its the way they prefer to play a game whilst your opinion may not be our preference at all and vice versa. Can we just respect the point that each of us has our own preferences and opinion of how how a game is designed instead of attacking it? Of course, if a game that is 100 hours long which has similar quality and reactivity with minimal combat grinding in the middle of a game length of 20 - 30 hours, I'll play it. But theoratically (Or practically?) its not possible since such RPG would either take forever to be made or super buggy due to dozens and dozens of scenarios needed to be scripted based on the branching reactivity itself.
  19. Shadow of Mystara is very good. I'm even playing it on ROM at the present since they don't have such games anymore in the Arcade. There's also some C&C in the game which is unusual for a beat-up scrolling action. Kind of wish they'll make similar games with Co-op today.

I prefer 15 - 20 hours of game with lots of reactivity(Like Alpha Protocol, if it lives up to its promise) than just a 50 or hundred hour game that consists only a slight difference in reactivity with a largely stay-the same main course of combat grinding. The former encourages more replayability and usually easier to get into second or third playthroughts while the latter is usually harder to get into it. For instance, I can't imagine myself playing Dragon Age sometime soon if I completed the game since the thought of tranversing through the Deep Roads again gives me second thoughts. My opinion of course, based on my current busy lifestyle.
  21. Sorry if old. There seems to be an Easter Egg in Mass Effect (Replaying the game to get ready for ME2) when you speak with the scientist survivor in the planet Eden. She'll say "Thank the Maker!" when you rescue her.
  22. Maybe have the numbers disabled on the first playthrough and have it enabled on the subsequent playthrough? First it does not encourage first time players to focus on the metagaming aspects of the game. While on the other hand the players who usually play the game against after competion often have the purpose of exploring other aspects of the game that has yet to be discovered which the % number will come in handy. Anyway. Great read. I simply can't wait for the game's release. Its a pity that ME2's coming out on this month than AP which might place AP's reviews inevitably in direct comparison to it.
