KOTOR's Fate = To that of Shenmue's?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
im actually still puzzled why lucasarts didnt even bother to advertise kotor2. considering how successful kotor1 was, youd think that theyd be advertising the hell out of kotor2, based on the whole "sequel to 2003 game of the year" marketing campaign. but nothing. i have never seen a single kotor2 commercial on tv. -

DOES TSL make you view KOTOR differently?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
true, but whats the point of having a thread where 50% or more of the text is blacked out, rather than posting in the spoiler or storyline discussion where 100% of the text responses can be seen without spoiler tags? -
DOES TSL make you view KOTOR differently?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
this is probably better off in the spoiler forum, since reasons in my answer (and more than likely other peoples answers) will contain spoiler info. however, since it isnt in the spoiler thread i will just answer with a "yes" it has changed how i viewed kotor1, specifically the events and "reasons" for certain events. -
ATI video cards with KotOR2
NeverwinterKnight replied to Pulverizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
judging from a lot of posts in this thread, i take it the game is again working like crap on ati cards? didnt the devs say they had even been in touch with ati to make sure the same issues wouldnt persist in kotor2 that existed in kotor1? this is disappointing news. -
What game have you wanted more than
NeverwinterKnight replied to Darth Reven's topic in Computer and Console
maybe a patch will help with those issues. have you posted about them in the pc tech forum? im getting worried about the pc version now. good thing i held off on picking it up from future shop. -
you also have to talk to someone (im not telling you who) and i believe someone else has to show up as well (again, not telling you who). my best advice is to slow down and actually let the game happen. you seem a bit too preoccupied with getting a prestige class at the expense of enjoying the game and story unfold.

Peragus locked storage.
NeverwinterKnight replied to Monty Burns's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
how is that possible? you should be able to level up t3, so just make sure he has some skill in demolitions or something. i never had a problem setting the mines. -
which is why id be interested in seeing books that dont have the usual trio in starring roles. im sick of seeing books about luke, han and leia.

i know its just semantics, but why is this in the storyline forum? wouldnt it make more sense in general discussion, since this doesnt really have anything to do with the storyline of kotor, kotor2 or the star wars universe in general? ps. vader is always going to be badass #1 in my books.

Some questions I have about Revan and TSL
NeverwinterKnight replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
that was my interpretation, yes. i believe he came across the "true sith" during his trip to the outer rim, and felt that the current jedi were too "passive" and inactive in terms of being prepared and ready to act towards the new threat, so he used the star forge to get them to act and be ready for a bigger battle. -
Some questions I have about Revan and TSL
NeverwinterKnight replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
this is all just my opinion, but... the "real sith" i believe we dont know much about yet. the sith that revan and malak were the sith lords for were just dark jedi descendants who followed the sith teachings. i believe revan and malak were true sith lords in the same sense that sidious, dooku and vader were. this is conjecture, but i believe the "real sith" are more direct descendants of the original sith race, whereas malak, revan, and the sith on korriban are the jedi that fell to the dark side and adopted the "real sith" teachings. my interpretation is that originally, revan and malak found the star forge (or atleast information about it) and thats what originally sent them into the outer rim in search of it. but then from kreias comments, revan found something more sinister and decided that this threat was much more dangerous and thus used the star forge to get the galaxy in motion and ready to take on these "true sith". -
Help: is this suppose to happen?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Whitemithrandir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
happened to me in the xbox version as well. just go in to the party selection menu and re-add the two. youll also need to de-select them from that same party selection screen later on (i wont tell you when or why due to spoilers, but you will know what im referring to when it happens). -
What are the chances of a patch?
NeverwinterKnight replied to sanskrit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
oh i agree. id hope obsidian does support their work. im just giving you a possible "legal" reason why they wont. whether or not that actually applies to their situation is only known by obsidian and lucasarts. also, i read somewhere (again, i apologize for not actually having a source, so you might just think this is conjecture or opinion on my behalf) where a developer of a company had stated that it was in their contract with the publisher that any comments, even ones posted on a message board, had to go through that publisher first before posting, otherwise he could face legal action should the publisher deem that what he posted contained information they didnt authorize to be released. -
the njo wasnt well thought out at all. lucasbooks even admitted so much when asked about it. too many different authors meant too many continuity errors and contradictions. in general i enjoyed the series. but it could have done with more cohesion.

What are the chances of a patch?
NeverwinterKnight replied to sanskrit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
actually, that might not necessarily be the case. im not sure what their contract with lucasarts specifies, but sometimes the publisher is the only one who can give the ok for a patch, even if the developer wants to patch the game. in the case of troika and vampires, an activision higher up even confirmed that it was up to activision to say whether a patch could be made or not, and troika had no say in the matter. -
Think I really screwed up my game
NeverwinterKnight replied to QQQ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i think you screwed up or missed a dialogue option along the way. -
so i guess it will be a while until we get that review. "

for the past day and a half the site has been incredibly slow, taking forever to load completely. is anyone else experiencing this? at first i thought it was just my net connection, but all other sites i go to load fine.

you do know you can break down those extra energy shields into components right? if you need more components, id suggest breaking down those extra items you have and dont use.

taris. much bigger, and much more non-linear. plus it felt more alive (naturally) with much more npcs walking around and such.

thats more than likely due to people (myself included) not bothering to write "imo" before every single sentence. i would have thought it was obvious that each side in this debate is just stating their opinion and not fact, since none of us are actually employees of lucasarts and thus dont know what they intend to do.
