TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline
Gorth replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Some people don't have what it takes, some do I haven't really been truly impatient so far. I think I am starting to develop an itch now  -
Bah. the old romans had a much more efficient system for weeding out weak senators

I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but I'm playing it on my work laptop, which has an ATI X1600 Mobility processor, catalyst driver packaging version 8.201.2-051124a1-028716C-Acer. That gives me 20fps on the larger outdoor areas and 35 fps in indoor areas. Edit: That's with a decent resolution and all the flash except shadows which are the lower (Dropshadow?) setting.

One could argue that only serves to exaggerate the problem. Misery loves company. Wow, that sounds bad Still playing NWN2. Trying to make that treacherous wench Elanee stay in my party this time >_

Does Obsidian intend to make an RPG like FO?
Gorth replied to roshan's topic in Computer and Console
If NWN was an "Open" game, then I guess Pac-Man would qualify too. Your cheese avatar could choose to clear out the dots to the east, west, south or north first (picking up some phat loot along the way). In the end though, it didn't make any difference, you had to clear the entire gaming board. Only choice being which one of four you picked first. None of the four things you had to fetch in each act was optional (Ok, so I died from boredom before completing Act IV so it might have been different from Acts I-III, but at least I tried). -
Assuming Cricket is a sport of course

Which Trilogy do you prefer?
Gorth replied to ThEvIlLiAgEiDiOt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You forgot a trilogy... The Theatrical version of the OT vs. the mutilated version of the OT. I voted OT anyway because even a bad OT has very little or no Hayden Christensen in it. The worst blight to hit the silver screens in a decade. -
Old game that I havent gotten around to buy yet: HoMM V Not sure if it'z released yet, but I'm going to have a look at Sid Meiers Railroads! And finally, looking forward to the new remake of Tombraider I (the original) on the Tombraider: Legends engine.

Gibraltar ain't Spain, buddy. But it isn't the UK, so I guess it would qualify. Anybody else notice how he sidestepped the issue of the beer quality? :-"

It's like the Werewolf in bloodlines... except Lorne can actually be killed. As others have mentioned: The trick is to keep him occupied, running in circles or otherwise distract him until his immunity wears off. After that, Khelgar will make Lorne pick up his teeth with broken fingers, without getting into too much trouble.

You really need to check the quality of your beer I wonder if they count the population of Gibraltar as Britons living in Spain :D

Favourite/Least Favourite Planet
Gorth replied to Diego Varen's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Overall, K1 has both my favourite and least favourite planet... My favourite place was Taris, the place had everything from urban areas to sewers, the blessings and the curses of humanoid civilisation. And it was the only time I got to play without getting a lightsaber forced down my throat. I'm still grumbling over the fact that I was later forced to switch class from my beloved rogue into a goddamn jedi. My least favourite would be Manaan. Something about Selkaths, their language and the incredibly annoying "Grocery Store" type background music made me wince when replaying the game and I couldn't avoid Manaan anymore. I guess that also covers my favouite for K1, as it is the same as the overall. As for K2, my favourite would be Dxun/Onderon and the least favourite Malachor V. Dxun was everything Kashyyk wasn't, an interesting jungle word. Malachor V was... there. Added absolutely nothing except an hour of hack and slash to the game. All the other planets are in there somewhere in between -
No idea who or what Six Sigma is, but the last company I worked for in Denmark was ISO9000 certified. A company called BVQI (http://certification.bureauveritas.com/hom...e_frameset.html) did the audits on adherence to the documented procedures and standards.

That one is a bit tricky, because people don't always notice their own idiosyncracies and then have to describe themselves using hearsay and other peoples observations. And people are sometimes a bit selective about what they like to hear about themselves... http://www.kwintessential.co.uk/etiquette/...ss-denmark.html Funny thing about the punctuality. I remember driving my colleagues mad in New Zealand, because they had a completely different attitude towards such things (Wel'll get there in due time, no worries) Dress code is another thing, only executives and other who work in some formal representative capacity are expected to "dress up". Otherwise casual clothes are the order of the day. The personal space thing is something I didn't realise until moving abroad. Danes can be a bit on the reserved side when they don't know you I guess. Might apply less in metropolitan areas like Copenhagen though. Also check out the entry for Denmark on this site: http://www.eurograduate.com/marketreports/...Culture+Matters The latter is probably the best one I've seen in a long while regarding danish business culture

It must be all that nature stuff, gets to their hormone glands somehow.

Trying to see if I can work the influences a bit differently in my second game.

I never got them when they were new. Saw them in the cinema, but didn't get around to buy them until they got released as the "edited" versions on VHS. I was disappointed enough to give them away my little nephew. Being 4 years old, he didn't care about their background and just found Vader awesome Weren't the theatrical versions released on laser disc ?

4:3 non-anamorphic widescreen means loss of detail and resolution. Not that the original master tapes might be in pristine shape 29 years after, but why even bother putting them on DVD then, if you are going to "shrink" the widescreen format down until it fits in a 4:3 frame? As for the sound, I'm pretty sure a campaigner for better sound in cinemas like Lucas and his THX could do better than stereo... The mutilated/crippled/re-edited versions which covers up the murder of Greedo in true cold war Soviet style is of course in excellent condition. It's like he really *wants* to put the originals in a bad light just to spite the people who prefer the cinematic versions.

Sure, just ignore old Gorth because he lives a few Km south of the border these days It is not common among small and medium sized businesses. Large corporate sized companies may have them, although I never worked for one of those in Denmark I've used english with english speaking customers, german with german speaking customers and a bit of french to tell the french speaking customers that they need to communicate in english. Bang & Olufsen makes some nice speakers A few of them are mentioned here: http://www.ambwashington.um.dk/en/menu/The...nomicRelations/ What is otherwise happening trade/technology wise: http://www.buyusa.gov/denmark/en/ccg4.html Oh, and if you ever wondered where software like Kazaa and Skype came from... :aiee:" They did their job too well and made themselves redundant. The working class is fairly well off these days. They used to, but as Rosbjerg said, you are most likely regarded as the runt of the litter if you stay too long in a job. That means nobody else wants you. Because we are "Eurosceptics"? Danes don't trust politicians any further than they can throw them. If the politicians all agree the Euro is a good thing, people vote 'No'. I might be wrong, but most of the people I know regard EU and Bruessels with disdain and don't want to hand them any more power than forced to. There is a distinct shortage of skilled workers which seems to be the largest problem for an even larger economic growth. Both the public and the private sector are having black figures on their P&L's these days. The trade profit is staggering. Depends... If you go the university way, it goes like basic school -> high school - > university Grades are the number system that Rosbjerg outlined. Other more specialised educations exists. Like trade school, various crafts (sometimes a master/apprentice relationship thing) and so on. As for your original questions, Rosbjerg got close enough to most, that I wont disagree with him (about customs, traditions etc.).

It does, thank you

A few questions... 1) I got a nice red dragon hide from one of my hunting trips. How do I use that in crafting? It lists a few armour types for which it can be used, yet those armour types all require more than one hide/ingot. I tried the molds just with the dragon hide, then the mold with dragon hide and "filling up" with a quantity of other materials to no avail. Do I need to find two more red dragons to kill? 2) My manual and the in-game description of Eldritch knight has *very* differnt oppinions about the requirements. Which one is correct? 3) The Warpriest PrC says something to the effect of getting a priest spell level for every second Warpriest level. Does that mean, if I pick, say 7 levels of priest and 10 level of Warpriest, I would have a frenzied, mouth frothing killing machine casting spells like a 12th level cleric? Some examples in the manual would have been nice. I've now started on my 5th "second game", just can't make my mind up which class to stay with. I miss my Duellist. Even kept the Duellist garb from deeking, my fedora and my +3 rapier until the very end. Only when the portal insisted on a very special weapon did I discard my trusty rapier :'(

I guess I'm joining the bandwagon of those who are considering building a new system... I need something that is a) fast and 2) stable. I've had a look at the new quad core technology and searched around a bit to see if there were any motherboards around that would support dual processors with quad core cpus (i.e. for a total of 8 cores) but couldn't really find any. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places. I've got some applications that are optimised for multiprocessor environments, so I would (I assume) benefit from multiple cores. Since I would like to use the machine for gaming as well, what is the current most bang for the buck gfx cards out there? I've only ever used first matrox then nvidia cards. I've never really had any issues ever with compatibility, neither with games nor with opengl compliance for the gfx software. ATI has a more dubious reputation with it's drivers... Will Windows XP Professional handle the multiple cores/cpus or is that server OS territory only? I'm so *not* going to buy into the Windows Vista thing  Oh, and I won't need it before March, 2007, so if there is some new technology on the doorstep of 2007, so much the better. Any recommendations what to look/search for, pretending that price doesn't matter ?
