  1. Let me get this right, you got an oversized PSU, therefore you needed to expand the casing, therefore you need a better computer desk? I am following this thread with much interest, since I am looking for a new computer after New Year, at a time where my economy will (hopefully) have recovered enough not to have to compromise too much on the price/quality scale. March is probably the starting shot for my shopping spree.
  2. Actually, it always did.
  3. Yesterday was one of those days best torn out of the calendar and just forgotten. It started bad enough, receiveing the resignation of a consultant. Tough luck, those guys don't hang on trees. Then I got the farewell email from a developer that I had to give the boot, as he was just not good enough. Yay, thats a part of my job that makes me feel melancholy. To top it off, I killed one or more little ducklings driving home. Mama duck and her retinue had decided to cross the highway in the early evening, during one of the rare south australian rainy days... the last thing I saw in my rear view mirror was mama duck and surviving siblings looking at flattened duckling(s) with something I could have sworn was a baffled look on their faces... way to go Gorth
  4. The same way that Microsoft is the largest publisher of PC operating systems? I don't know about Ubisoft, but the IL-2 Sturmovik flight sim series has been on my wishlist for a long time. As for the actual topic, lets just say that there is a lot of room for speculation and very little facts.
  5. I don't know if UKOZ mail is comparable, but that is anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks...
  6. Nice Now we are going to have those images imprinted in our minds, associating them with the names when they post here...
  7. You mean, being able to flee faster is going to improve his ego?
  8. Found this in sticky FAQ thread: Q. I am stuck in the Onderon Palace. I cannot disable the second terminal A. This is caused by telling the Captain at this station that you will disable the other station while you already have disabled the other station. To fix this you NEED to load a save from before talking to the Captain at that station. Sorry, not much help. Maybe some of the modders/hackers out there might have some input as to whether or not console commands/KSE can be used to help.
  9. I can't really say that I like the numbers... but it is better than no feedback. Technology allowing, a nice thing for future game would be to add a visual feedback when appropriate. I.e. facial expressions (grimacing, scowling, smiling, winking etc.), body language (a slight swagger, shking fists at you, outride rude gestures, constantly looking at you, smiling etc.). Devious npcs might of course chose to "cloak" their attitude towards you and spring some nasty/pleasant surprises on you.
  10. How did you arrive at that conclusion? (sounds more like an issue with the dialogue script, not the text string database) Can't say I have run into it previously, so I hope somebody else can help you out. It does have its share of weird issues.
  11. You can sell him to whatshisname the junk dealer. I hope you got a good price for the little beeper
  12. I know it is an incredibly bad movie, but sometimes timing is everything. Having seen "The Fog" at a friends place a long time ago, I had to ride my bike home through a remote forest path in, yes, thick fog. Visibility was non existant and it was 2:30 am. I swear I saw things moving in between the trees...
  13. Favourites: Psycho The Birds Invasion of the bodysnatchers Alien 28 days later Strangeland (nobody blamed me for good taste) Evil Dead Event Horizon Honourable mention to: The Shining The Blair Witch Project Dawn of the Dead lots more that I have forgotten at the moment Deliberately void of teen slasher movies, as they are mostly watched for the good looks of the girls before they are being cut up, not for the presence of any "horror" effect
  14. Took down my Serenity DVD from the shelf and gave it another spin. Not quite living up to the potential of the series, but still good entertainment
  15. Gulty as charged. Gorth gained 50xp and learned new options. Playing Stalker and Europa Universalis 3. Both games are incredible "time sinks". Hooray for that
  16. Eurotrip is awesome. One of my all time favourite comedies. Bought the DVD on recommendations from a friend, never regretted it for a second.
  17. Start of previous thread End of previous thread Been listening to some old 80'es hits.
  18. I always found that both Kotor games had waaay too many droids in them And selkath, any selkath is too many selkath Seriously though, too many droids.
  19. I did the same mistake, played a male malkav in my first game. Also neglected my combat skills and had give up in a certain boss battle, backtrack my steps to a previous save and make a different decision regarding what path to take. I can definitely recommend Nosferatu for a different gaming experience though, even if it might not be for everybody. I played a female one to boot, just for the hot leather wear. Despite it's technical issues, an awesome game
  20. Lets see how this poor thread likes it in Skeeters Junkyard Sorry, not having an external mp3 player, I have no constructive input.
  21. Yes, both the official patch and the official unofficial media patch can be downloaded seperately from the internet and copied to the computer you have Kotor2 installed on. You might need a DVD if you want the full media patch though, although not strictly necessary (just requires quite a few cds then).
  22. It runs surprisingly well (i.e. no lag or stuttering) on my 4.5 year old pc, a pentium4 2.8ghz and 2gb ram (and something was state of the art gfx card 4.5 years ago) on 1024x768 resolution and most fun effects on.
  23. Agreed. I think if they are going to keep the influence system, stop with the "Influence Gained" messages. Just put your influence level on the character sheet and leave it at that, then if you really want to know your influence level, you can find it, but it doesn't interrupt gameplay with numbers. It should be configurable, ideally, just as the messages of damage (hitpoints) can be toggled on/off, for example. A most excellent idea I think I'll join the club of "Longer is Better". I don't really play a lot of games, but those I play, I play a lot.
