  1. My utter and complete disappointment when I realised that I was "Revan" and dreading the moment I knew would arrive sooner or later: Being forced to play a Jedi Playing a scoundrel up until then had been fun.
  2. I can recommend DosBox (I use a graphical frontend for it) and Daemon Tools (use it as the cd rom drive for DosBox). Now it runs like a dream on Windows XP sp2
  3. Analysing brain waves... hmm... I sense a new market for interrogation techniques coming up In 10 years time, every office cubicle will have one hanging over the employees head so the boss can listen to his/her thoughts about the workplace
  4. Maybe so they can play it in Germany? As any well behaved little german kid should be able to tell you, blood can have any colour but red
  5. That was the first time for a long while that I resorted to a sheet of paper and a pen to map out mazes... I think Bards Tale II (iirc) was the last time before that A shame they didn't use that room under the brothel for anything.
  6. We are all crash test dummies :ninja10: Looks to me like the astronomers have the Sisyphus task among scientists. How do you map an ever expanding universe completely?
  7. Is it just me or does he sound suspiciously like this guy: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showuser=1057?
  8. Big Guns are a good backup when Diplomacy and Charisma fails Playing a bit of BG1 again. I played a fighter which changed into a thief in BG2 in my very first completed game of BG1 a long time ago. This time I am playing a fighter which I intend to dual class into a wizard before leaving BG1. Also dusted off a game of X-Com 3 which is almost finished. I almost finished blowing up one of the last remaining buildings in the alien dimentison when they finished me... I am just a sucker when it comes to remembering saving games in those old games.
  9. Ninja... You scored 7 Honor, 2 Justice, 7 Adventure, and 8 Individuality! No home. No house. No clan. No ties. You have your honor and the open road and you are satisfied. Who you serve is your decision, but it's the challenge that guides you. Keep your sword close at hand. You'll do just fine. My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: You scored higher than 99% on Ninjinuity You scored higher than 99% on Knightlyness You scored higher than 99% on Cowboiosity You scored higher than 99% on Piratical Bent Not that many old ninjas around I take it
  10. http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/...reut/index.html The reporter must have stepped on some toes. He has now been arrested for "fabricating the story". Beijing TV had apologized for failing to check the report's authenticity and said it would make efforts to improve staff ethics, the paper added Maybe he should have created some satirical cartoons instead?
  11. The original idea was, what would you like to see them spend their time and effort pursuing as the next game to be signed up for. I.e. where they should be most persisent (publisher, ip owner, what have you) in being hired for a project as a developer Hence the semi realistic list of potential projects (and I would stress the "semi")
  12. ...but team-gizka aren't restoring anything to Peragus Somebody else already did. Not so much "restoring" as fixing a long laundry list of bugs.
  13. Sounds more like a TV than a Monitor
  14. I haven't really played anything for a while. I play NWN2 every now and then on my laptop when travelling, but when at home I just don't feel like it these days. I could use more, newer games, but very little of the stuff on the shelves in the stores seems to catch my interest. Action rpg this, action adventure this, real time action strategy with rpg elements my butt. It just smells so bland. *Sigh* it is emulator time again
  15. I would love to see you contribute articles and pieces to it Joseph and Matthias are the ones to talk to though, I just provide the SPAM, they organise and do stuff. You could drop Spider a line here at Obsidian or Josan at WW. Not according to the news
  16. And that is a threat not to be taken lightly. Walsingham is enough master of SPAM to the point of producing some of the best recipee's on the forum (I really have to try them out some day) As for the game, it did look quite interesting. Sort of like Tron meets Invaders meets my old c64 games on steroids I didn't download the demo yet, but watched the trailer. I don't trust Steam, so I'll wait and hear other oppinions before trying to get the demo.
  17. A Danish Hotdog anytime, anywhere http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_dog_variations Check under European variants. These guys from New York almost got it right, except the sausages are not a bright crimson colour like they are supposed to
  18. So, what are you going to do with the box, deliver it or open it?
  19. Oh, you will get it someday... in about 7-9 years time when Bethesda buys the Star Wars license and develops Oblivion with Lightsabers Knights of the Old Rebulic III I saw a Mynock the other day, nasty little creatures...
  20. Has anybody been able to figure out what exactly it is half full of? I mean, if it is half full and the the stuff it is half full of is "nothing", where does that leave it?
  21. It is one of those times of the year again. The Winterwind E-Zine strikes back at apathy and dumbness. The non-profit, non-compromising, non-sense publication for the masses http://www.winterwind-productions.com/issue5/cover.htm From a member of the demographic group known as "swedish oblivion lovers", we present Spider continuing the story of Choices and Consequences in Real Life
  22. Quo usque tandem abutere patientia nostra. Umm, yeah. Something about pushing stuff up both nostrils at the same time. And we are now down to 18
  23. TOMBS? That would be the place where doppleganger known as Cantousent tossed the body of Eldar after having assumed his place on the forums. After browsing 204 pages of posts, I found the oldest post that the forum software currently attributes to Cantousent: Notice how he hasn't quite stomped out all things Eldar at that time yet? It is funny though, I seem to remember from top of my head that one of the first posts under the name Cantousent was an obituary for a friend/relative. Cantousent the idealist: Ok, so here is the thing about Cantousent, he is an unwaivering idealist, believing in all things good and righteous. How the heck he can play anything besides a Paladin in a P&P game beyond me and a kudos to his acting skills. I think he sometimes takes ideals more serious and live by their code more strictly than the guys who came up with the ideas originally. Yes, I am also talking about that silly group of tax welchers who decided that they didn't owe uncle George a thing for all stuff he had done for them (killing natives and frenchmen). He follows the rituals and once dreamt of wearing the trappings of an organisation that is not famous for the ideals he himself stands for, yet I wonder if it wouln't be a bad tradeoff and the world would get the bad end of the deal. I think he has more to offer the world than you can do when limited by such things. There are friends money can't buy, for the rest there is Mastercard. Cantousent the forumite: He is just about everywhere? Eloquent, Insightful, Educated, Idealistic (see above, it shines through in many of his posts, he wants to make the best of most situations and think positively, even when people, including yours truly, behaves like ****) and I can't remember ever having seen him beeing condescending (he needs to put more points in his gloating skill). The only time he wrote stuff that made me quasy was when he quoted old Greek texts (in the original alphbet), because they reminded me of the math tests that I sucked so badly at in university. He discusses hardware, p&p games, politics, religion, video games etc. without making a lot of enemies (except metadigital because nobody likes metas ideas of alien factions). Then there was the fun thing about the Moderator tag. Was that a signal light? On... off... on... off... And then there is the Cantousent "BLOG"... I don't think there are many posters who give other people such an insight into their lives, sharing experiences, whether it be travel or work. I would bet, that there might even be lurkers out there who feel like they have known him for a long time without ever having exchanged words with him. Traits/Perks/Whathaveyou Speech skill (gets practised a lot) Explorer skill (travels the world) Science (I am sure there is a lot of trivia at his command, ready to write down in an instant) Strengths: Hard to argue with somebody who genuinely believes in the case they are arguing. Makes for some good posting kung-fu. Weaknesses: Gets emotional sometimes as a result of the same. Lacks the viciousness and cruelty to win at all costs. And when the Warhammer 40k MMO gets up and running, we will join forces and rid the galaxy of all that opposes us! And this is really only a fraction of all the stuff there is to say about this Eldar imposter.
  24. The traffic in Sydney is awful though.
  25. They could ship a single container of those to Africa and they would have no famine for an entire year. Edit: Malnutrition perhaps, but not starvation.
