  1. Maybe you've hit a different outline format under the options menu (upper right corner of a thread). Is "standard" selected?
  2. I really like most of the game so far, but one thing is infuriating and a sour grape in an otherwise sweet experience. The *&^%$# cut scenes that takes control of my characters in just about every encounter and make them all walk as easy targets into obvious traps and ambushes. It is frustrating. Besides that little vent, I like it very much. It is no BG2, but it is fine game in its own right. Yeah, thats what the cynic said.
  3. I just skipped out on a combat. I don't know if I lost out on anything essential, but how the heck does a protagonist fighter survive alone in a small enclosed space with 3 stone golems?!? I tried a number of different approaches, including special abilities only available in that area, but ended up a bloody paste on the walls every time
  4. is there a story worth telling there? Note to self. Don't open bottles without labels...
  5. Something seems fishy...
  6. More Yahtzee
  7. Start of old thread End of old thread Dragon Age Origins review Wheee!...
  8. And six foot invisible rabbit and probably half a dozen other identities. All those who aren't Eldars alts are probably Visceris/Hades/Sand/Killian/Etc. alts Edit: I think there was a Hades_One among them.
  9. I don't have proof yet, but I suspect Shale (formerly known by me as "complimentary golem guy") is actually female. But go through some of the dialogue and judge for yourself
  10. But... but... then who am *I* ?!? Hi, I am "Gorth"
  11. Alanschu is Canadian and a Bioware fanboy. Probably Volourns alt
  12. Neither do I. Unfortunately, they are rarely that cheap. I paid 110$ (OZ) for Dragon Age (thats about 100$ USD). For me it doesn't matter, but I remember a time when money was tight and 100$ was something that was completely incomprehensible to pay for a game. I think the gaming industry is repeating the mistake of hollywood. Quoting my own post from elsewhere (Winterwind): I guess I could add the gaming industry to my above quote. Too much economic science and too little fun, too large budgets and too little originality. Not saying that we need to go back to making games by rubbing two wooden sticks together, but maybe somebody needs to be done about rampant cost that doesn't lead to anything except conformity to a formula? Just saying Edit: Thinking of it, maybe I am hiding my point too well. I think DLC is someting that came about, not to add to a game but to recover some of the humongous costs that goes into creating the game in the first place
  13. What did you expect from a communist poll? It's a single party system
  14. Getting a bit long... continued here
  15. Start of old thread End of old thread I haven't found a merchant that sells dragon repellant... need to keep searching. Bioware is throwing big omen sized hints at me
  16. Sometimes your legs are your best friend. My brave heroic fighter legged it (together with his equally heroic companions) to the "garden fences" closer to town. Then you can create kill zones which limit how many wolves you have to fight at any given time
  17. I might be gimping myself, only time will tell. My warrior is focusing on the two handed weapon trees. If nothing else, it looks cool when fighting (yeah, I am such a power gamer)
  18. I've only been playing it for a day, but impressions so far: I've found crates. I've bashed rats. I've got "Do you want to gather your party before venturing forth" messages. I've got a pet (which I named "Elfeater"). I've got laid. I've got my butt kicked by a small "boss" (due to bad preparation on my part) Managed to kick that butt in return on the second fight, with one party member standing (with less than 10hp). I've had to leave loot behind. I don't even think I've seen any groan worthy dialogue yet (unlike Mass Effect, which I found had it in droves during my 30 minute stint on a colleagues xbox360). Only silly thing is the comic book blood spatter which takes some of the "seriousness" out of the game. I think they could have credited Peter Jackson for some of the battle scenes
  19. How many MMO players does it take to replace a water chip?
  20. Global warming is real...
  21. Thanks, yeah that was the issue. I followed the link in the forum post (and dowloaded and intalled the file from MS's website) and the game started nicely. Currently just playing around with character creation, trying out a human noble warrior.
  22. Downloaded and installed the 1.01 patch. Game now adamantly refuses to give me return of investment. yay for first impressions Off to see the official support forums I suppose...
  23. Sorry, I probably got the standard version then, maybe next time It was the only version they had in the EB Games store. Edit: It would probably also have said so on the box if it was anything but standard I assume. Edit2: Redeemed the code and is currently downloading complimentary golem guy. Didn't somebody mention something about having to manually download a 1.01 patch or so somewhere?
  24. Get the Collector's Edition. It will help my cause more How many versions are there? The one I got says on the box it has complimentary golem guy and a dragon armour... for mass effect 2 ?!?
