The lowest exodus of tax payers in an eight year period (which peaked in 2005), I don't get it how that is bad? Other than they are still leaving of course, albeit at a lower rate. Rich people always seems to gravitate towards places with either a: lower taxes or b: better revenue opportunities or c: both. It should be up there with Newtons laws

I am not really up to speed on those things. Besides, my latest first aid certification is 15+ years old

Isn't it a criminal offense in a number of countries not helping people to avoid dying if you can? I know for sure that I would love to bash some skulls on gawkers and onlookers at traffic accidents etc. who would rather enjoy a macabre show rather than doing something helpful, like getting the &^%$ out of the way.

Backing up important stuff on external drives and store it safely in a different location is always a good idea. Even when your computer isn't crashing and burning

Our own little ray of sunshine Notice how his lack of faith is waivering? Interesting read. So the guy worked on Tomb Raider: Legends, huh? I hope somebody tells him at gun point that QTE's are not popular Nice to get a bit of insight as to what goes on in the design and decision making process. Why do the stuff we end up playing look and feel like it does etc. Developer diaries ftw -

I just thought your poll was biased Indeed, doesn't look too different from the experiments with mammoth dna, trying to revive an extinct species. The moment he can inject completely artificially made dna on the other hand...

Obstinate Pig-headed Like a terrier with a child's face Stubborn, Obsessive, Bullheaded... whats the name of those dictionaries that show similar meaning words? Being down to my last pair of pants and one and a half t-shirt without holes in it, I had to go shopping for new clothes. I hate shopping for clothes this weekend. Hopefully this will last me for another decade

Disclaimer: I only know fragments of the stories and events, not the big picture, I might ask silly questions. Would it really be unconstitutional to offer bail out packages with strings attached on exactly what the offered money can be spend on? I.e. can be used for investment, cash flow etc. but not for bonuses or salary payment beyond a certain cap? If my tax money was used to pay somebodys private jet for his great job of mismanaging myself out of a job (and possibly my home), I would be outraged beyond description. If those corporate fat cats are truly worth their pay, they should be to be compensated on future results if they manage to turn their companies around. Or would you rather turn all Ayn Randsque on everything and let each and every financial institution and car maker (or whoever was hard hit) crash and burn?

He should have been more specific when he told Hayden Christensen: "Act!"

Obsidian needs to make a gazillion dollars on mainstream games, so they can buy the Black Isle brand and publish old school niche games for those who love turn based, isometric crpgs under that name

The core of the problem Maybe you live in a different world than they do? While they have their moral values, you have been consorting with the likes of Eletronic Arts and Dungeon & Dragons. We all know who they are agents for I know a lot of women who are upset about gravity. Cf. liposuction

"Fund Scrounging"? Sounds like a debate over budgets and who pays what until "deployment" -
Computer speed increases will eventually be impossible

From what I've read, photon entanglement-based communications still requires that you send packets over a distance. It isn't FTL, as mentioned in p.37 of the ESA doc you linked to.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_teleportation Yes, sadly the establishing of the connection is still slower than FTL, but hey, you need to set yourself some interesting challenges to overcome. I don't think Benjamin Franklin envisioned all the practical uses of lightning, as much as he was simpy interested in understanding the mechanisms behind it -

For those interested in FTL communication, a few links. ESA Experiments with Quantum communication and encryption The quest for manipulating entangled photons FTL communication makes no sense if the messages can only be dealt with by non-quantum machinery.
