  4. Thread getting a bit long. More gaming Here
  5. Start of old thread End of old thread Finally got around to start a game of SoZ. My party features a Ranger/Blackguard (my protagonist), a Rogue/Assassin, a Cleric/Frenzied Berserker and a Wizard/Red Wizard of Thay. May the most evil party win

That is only because some of the venomous creep are hard to spot iniside your shoes. It's almost winter now and freezing cold at 16 degrees (Celcius). It even rains every now and then. Looking forward to summer again.
  7. The fun of new hardware... Finally got most of the bits and pieces needed to assemble my computer, so I set out to plug in the new HDD, the XFX card and thats when the fun started. My old Windows Vista would crash with a bsod when shutting down causing the darn thing to restart autimatically and politely tell me that Windows experienced a problem when starting up again (completely "uninvited"). Ah well I thought, maybe there was an issue with the gfx card and the power consumption? It looked like it cut power prematurely somehow, before finishing the shutdown. Taking out my trusty old Radeon 2400 card and plugging that in instead, I set about installing Windows 7. Yep. 5 failed installation attempts later, it turned out that it wasn't the gfx card. It was the damn hdd Finally got the XFX card in, removed the HDD, installed Windows 7 and things seems to be running. I tentatively tried (the day after) to plug the HDD back in (in a different SATA3 connection), though not as my primary/windows drive and the system appears stable. Either the motherboard has a single bad SATA3 connection or a good nights sleep did wonder for it. Go figure. I'll try installing Windows on it next time I need to reinstall. Of course, I have to take the thing apart again when the last bit arrives, as my cpu water block needs the backplate on the other side of the motherboard. Giving the XFX card a few weeks of work first before tearing off the stock cooling, just in case. Had to remove the lower fan, between the bottom HDD's and power supply too, as the power supply is too long for the Antec case. Who dares wins.
  8. I so wish Obsidian could have commissioned that guy to write some new music for Fallout: NV.
  9. Maybe it has... just the other way around. I.e. their losses are making them desperate. Considering how recent the newest DRM is, I don't see how it could have. If it has any results, they'll be seen later. Uhh... I meant bad results causes them to try new desperate measures, like their recent DRM scheme. I can't for the death of me see how that one is accomplishing anything other than alienating people from their corporate brand. Walks like a desperate company, quacks like a desperate company and all that.
  10. Just speculation, mind you, but maybe showing too much gameplay would give too many spoilers? Information is an asset. It gets choppped up and sold piecemeal to the highest bidders (doesn't have to be money, can be "return favours"). What will the press/reviewers offer in return for snippets of info here and there?

  12. It's available from Gamersgate too if you don't like steam.
  13. That was enough referral scams for one thread I think
  14. I never saw the point in re-makes other than cashing in on and violating the name of a good movie Come to think of it, I can't remember a single re-make from top of my head that felt superior to it's original Maybe a few old sci-fi series (Blakes 7) would benefit from slightly higher production values (cardboard cut-outs and "wobble effects"), but that is about it.
  15. Any which way, the Thai people lose on this conflict. Thaksin (sp?) is a dirty rotten bastard, sort of like the Berlusconi of Thailand. The current incumbent doesn't have the money to buy popular support like his predecessor, so he relies on the military instead. A lose/lose situation for the people.
  16. Playing too much NWN again? I don't really blame the guy for wanting to fly, but airline companies are not exactly inspiring a lot of confidence in me when they let him fly without proper credentials.
  17. This thread would have been better if it had included an explicit condemnation what is presumably the 10% of direct action, i.e. whatever is not part of the 90% peaceful component. Clever use of semantics does not mean this place is to be used for directly, nor indirectly to encourage violence against governments and government institutions.
  18. Somebody found the right "Bait"
  19. Sitting here looking at something called a "Nashi". No idea what it is, but I presume it is edible. I should probably look it up on google to see what I am supposed to do with it. Yeah, curiosity got the better of me, so I bought a few unknown food objects (U.F.O.s).
  20. I've seem a few episodes of The Simpsons, so I know those. I've heard about 24 (through Alpha Protocol of all things) and I've seen an episode of "Bones" once (which was surprisingly interesting). The rest is unknown to me. I must live in a different world or something
  21. Have fun Remember to burn the negatives...
  22. Not high enough for Joystiq to bother reviewing it. Minigames FTW!... not Some day, some human rights organisation will start a campaign to have mini games banned and there will be much rejoicing.
  23. Pervert Physical media does indeed seem to become a dying breed. At least from a PC gamer perspective. Time to hoard all those old boxes and disks? They might become worth a fortune some century from now. When all is said and done though, most if not all of the stuff you can get in digital form from internet stores is unessential entertainment products. If you don't like the business model, time to find a new hobby. Reminds me that I still have a metal miniature army or two that needs painting
  24. Getting a bit long. Discussion went This Way
  25. Start of old thread End of old thread As they said down at the Casino, "Craps happens!" Let there be Fallout
