  1. If you haven't already seen it, go watch Black Sheep
  2. Thanks for that link. It does seem pretty good. Reminds me of Far Cry2, without the stupid. Never tried Far Cry 2, but Dead Island looks good. Whats the catch?
  3. Sorry, not really able to help you with the tech stuff, but regarding the sabres, I'm fairly sure that both types (short, single- and two handed) and colours that you get is completely randomized throughout the game. Only exception is the cutscene which uses your answers.
  4. Then one of us has misunderstood the capability of the software. Tell that to the Londoners who drive around in a city constantly watched by cameras with OCR software (it checks vehicle license plates in real time, guiding cops towards something that flags as interesting in the central database).
  5. Does turning random things off include frame buffer effects? Just curious. Could the 128mb gfx memory be the problem (i.e. not being able to hold the textures)?
  6. Too many cutscenes & QTE to deserve being called a game. And being marketed too heavily to even be acknowledged. To be blunt, **** Tomb Raider. It's a franchise that does not *know* itself anymore and in not *knowing* has grown weaker. These days it just looks, feels and plays like any other action game. Gone are what made it special, the mysterious and large (not quite sandbox style but close) locations and the sense of exploration and discovery (Indiana Jones with boobs) that was the defining experience of the first few games.
  7. Fallout 3: New Vegas Also, bought the complete Grand Theft Auto package (I, II, III, San Andreas, Vice City, IV and Episodes from Liberty City) for 25$ from Gamersgate. Takes forever to download, but I guess I'm going to be playing GTA Something a bit in the near future. Now where to start...
  8. Played through the Montbarron estate. Looks very nice and the WASD controls are decent. My manual dexterity feels a bit challenged when changing stances or funmbling for the '1' key. Visually very nice and smooth with everything cranked up to high and ultra high in 2560x1600. Only nitpick is that on occasion it looks like my hero is "skating" (movement speed doesn't match the walk animation), although that looked like and occasional thing. Only happened for Anjali, not Lukas. Gathered a bit of loot, but didn't really get around to examine it closely. Combat was predictably easy since I'm a whimp and tried it on casual (since I'm not normally into the entire hack and slash thing).
  9. Currently at 37% going at around 450KB/s, shouldn't take too long. Maybe it's time to dust off my old xbox360 USB controller (which I bought way back for Dead Space).
  10. Oh, so that's what IGN meant by "Shepard was more equipped than ever to get the job done"... [/innuendo]
  11. You can almost hear it thinking Wake up and pay attention to me! Feeling strangely listless and uninspired today. Maybe it's the short winter days? Went down to the cafe downstairs for a large Mocha. With caffeine, chocolate and cream it should cover all basic food groups.
  12. Back in time when I could still be bothered (these days I just pass them on to spamcop.net), I would "cross the wires" between scammers and put them in touch with each other. They are not the only ones who can fake email headers> I hope they had fun with each other
  13. This isn't an anything focused game. Every time someone asks why something in this game has been terribly implemented the response is "that isn't the focus of this game". You forgot a few things... Not translated into Basque language - Not the focus of the game Not released on the 25th of May - not the focus on the game Not adapted to Kinect interface - not the focus of the game Not playable on a persistent dedicated server - not the focus of the game Not released on iPhone - not the focus of the game Not made for Matt-C specifically - not the focus of the game ...and so on and so on. I think you've decided that it isn't what you want and you are feeling angry that other people might actually like it. Who knows, maybe the focus of the game is simply that it is fun to play for those who participated in the making of it, like just running around hack and slashing monsters and bosses while gathering increasingly powerful loot? On the other hand, without the game you would have missed out on all the fun you've had recently, hanging out here, insulting people, being all negative and trying to come up with new ways of elaborating on why nothing is right. You've probably spent more hours on that than many people spend on playing some AAA titles and ought to donate the amount of a full game to your favourite charity in return
  14. Saw Caprica (the tv series) in its entirety. Much better than I thought it would be.
  15. Guys... How about laying off the publisher bashing a bit. Yes, that goes for Interplay too (I've got a lot of fond memories of Interplay published games). Edit: @CutLock - why don't you try out the DSIII demo? By all accounts, it should be a similar (not saying the same) experience to the BG:DA games.
  16. The 90's really weren't a good decade
  17. Hehe... Boo! Yeah, just jesting
  18. In that particular order?
  19. I'm not going to nitpick your suggestions, but I think a "merger" is very unlikely. Half the names on your list are themselves on financial lifesupport (with disconnection looming) and the other half are not interested in mergers, only acquisitions (sp?) and liquidations after cherry picking the assets. I would love to see Obsidian picking up the "Black Isle" brand name from Interplay some day, even if just for self publishing smaller, lower budget crpgs for those who love all things old style
  20. Do you have Kotor1? I seem to remember a lot of players successfully copying the mss32.dll (Miles Sound System or whatever it is called) from the Kotor1 install folder and use in the Kotor2 installation folder.
  21. Only problem with that one is that Swiftech is doing the waterblock. They are the worst manufacturing quality I've seen on water blocks. Made the mistake of buying one once for my CPU. I took a look at it, the low production values, the screws that didn't quite fit and a few other things and threw it all in the rubbish bin. Bought EK products instead. If they had had somebody else making the blocks, I would probably have considered it. Ok, LadyCrimson made me curious as to how good it is, so I tried to buy the shiny new EVGA GTX 590 Hydro Copper, created an account on their (EVGA) webstore, put it in the cart and tried to check out... "we only ship in the US, Canada and Mexico" or some such >_ ...and no, Aussie stores don't stock it. So much for satisfying my curiosity
  22. What about the promotion to global mod. Would that be a slightly cleaner glass jar? It just means that the organ is pickled in Cognac rather than formaldehyde
  23. Persevere it is then
  24. Yay, welcome Tale
  25. Sounds like a bad Hollywood movie, but badass indeed From BBC: "Pun could never know how many enemies were attempting to overcome his position, but he sought them out from all angles despite the danger, consistently moving towards them to reach the best position of attack". They made the mistake of attacking a Gurkha and he went on a rampage, firing 400 rounds, 17 grenades and manually detonated a claymore at them, just to proceed to start beating them to death with his tripod when running out of ammo. Lucky for them he didn't get angry and drew his Kukri
