What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
Not car keys, but door keys. Did that a while ago 😝 I can't "beat" your four folded pair of socks. I'll have to settle for just vacuuming a single, perfectly good sock leaving it's spouse a young widow(er) 😢 Yes, I thought I had pushed the laundry pile on the floor sufficiently far away from the spot of carpet I was vacuuming. Turned out the laundry pile wasn't far enough away 🙄

Anime and Manga - It's time for you to finish what you've started and watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
FInished Hell's Paradise. It started promising and ended forgettable. Ah well, live and learn... Now focusing instead on Heavenly Delusion. No opinion on it yet, as I only just started re-watching it from episode 1. As mentioned previously, I sort of watched the first 3 episodes, but it required a level of attention that made it go whoosh over my head, but was intriguing enough, that I suspect I'll like it, if I pay attention to what is going on.

John Barry has a lot of good soundtracks to his name. Henry Mancini is no slouch either (IMHO of course). That's besides the iconic Pink Panther theme...

Heh, so the scream originates from private Wilhelm... whose career in the army ended when he took an arrow to the knee (which is the specific scene the scream is from) 😂

Ukraine Conflict - conflict continues
BBC is airing the possibility that Wagner is moving 8000 troops to Belarus. Possibly near the Polish border. A case of plausible deniability if they move over the border and help Polish "Freedom Fighters" take the fight to the Nazi government in Warsaw? Lukashenko on the other hand claims Prigozhin is back in Russia. Not that I trust either (BBC emphasizing it's unconfirmed) and Lukashenko I wouldn't trust further than the distance could be pushed out of a third floor window... Neither is likely yet both could be true if Lukashenko "appropriated" Wagner and sent Prigozhin to Moscow as a birthday present to Putin.

The All Things Political Topic - Politics is the entertainment division of the military industrial complex
It's not exactly Berlin 1936, but sometimes politicians just have to make sport part of politics 😁 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-66094186 Australia won the match after the English batsman left his position in the second test, apparently thinking the over had ended. British PM Rishi Sunak agreed with the England captain's claim that Australia "broke the spirit of cricket" in taking the contentious wicket. But Mr Albanese said the country stands "right behind" its team. "Same old Aussies - always winning!" the prime minister tweeted, referring to the Australian side's two consecutive Test wins so far. His phrase also appeared to be a jibe at English fans who chanted "same old Aussies always cheating" after Bairstow was dismissed. Some of Australia's best-known politicians were also at Lord's Cricket Ground in London that match, including the nation's second longest-serving Prime Minister John Howard. ... It's an amusing incident, but it also reminds me of how few scandals we've had since the old Prime Minister got the kicked out...

The brass section of the second video gave me Star Trek TOS vibes for some reason... I could almost see the tag line in front of me: Space, the final frontier 😁

What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
You need the context... the cold war was running very hot at the time and the end of the world was an imminent thing....

Why can't I launch the game
Your best bet is probably the support address. https://support.obsidian.net/ Looking under Pentiment, there are links to contact addresses. Besides the "I need help", there is a link ("Contact Us") to email support directly

Cinema and Movie Thread: flickering images
One of my all time favourite movies 👍 Together with The Fifth Element one of those movies I can re-watch like once a year (same thing with Galaxy Quest come to think of it, even if not made by Luc Besson)

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 6
I'm probably "gimping" myself a bit in my current Lich game, because... not sure. My head cannon just decided my character is a powerful necromancer (eventually, give it a few more levels), commanding hordes of under minions and holding sway over the already dead. Unlike my Trickster/Legendary game, where Nenio and Ember both had beefed up Evocation/Conjuration and Enchantment/Illusion capabilities to overcome magic resistances. Necromantic spells feels a bit more subtle in nature. Several of them works best against undead/dead opponents by the look of it. It has some direct damage and some control ability, but nowhere near the aforementioned duo did in my first play through. Also trying to add a bit of abjuration to the mix, because I feel a vulnerable without a tonne of armour and 500hp whatever silly amount my Legendary Barbarian ended up with.

What You've Done Today - Don't do today, what you can get someone else to do tomorrow
It was easier back in the 80's in Denmark. The draft was a thing, and whether or not you joined the military was a lottery thing (quite literally, you drew a rolled up piece of paper from a barrel). High numbers went free, mid range numbers went to the civil defense (I did) and low numbers end up in the military. I guess The US is not too keen on reintroducing the draft after Vietnam? Edit: I could have excused my self from it, as I had bad enough vision, that I could get exempt on medical grounds, but I was never really one to shirk what I felt was everybody's responsibility and so participated in the lottery.

It's apparently not only Scotland who wants to get rid of the UK... https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/66082593 The Orkney Islands could change their status in the UK or even become a self-governing territory of Norway under new proposals. A motion will go before the council next week to investigate "alternative forms of governance". Council leader James Stockan said Orkney does not get fair funding with its current relationship within the UK. He wants to look at Crown Dependencies like the Channel Islands and overseas territories like the Falkland Islands. I wonder if they asked Norway first, or just assumed they would be welcomed home?

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 6
She does have a certain charm 🥰 I doubt I'll do the same in my current Lich play through. I'll refrain from various bad "boner" jokes, even if my characters avatar is looking less and less lively (I'll probably end up looking like a skeleton)

Random/Interesting/Weird
I haven't seen the audiences feedback (comments were turned off on the tiktok, not sure if the other links had comments), so I don't know what the responses were. My own response is probably not very flattering... for I do find her entitled in some ways (and she's forgetting gen x like everybody else, the only things that exists are the dreaded baby boomers and me). I know when I was a young teen, I was constantly bombarded with the "make sure you pick a marketable skill to study" message from multiple sides (my parents, friends, the governments public service announcements, you name it), because if I picked a university degree in advanced clay pottery sculpting, I would only have myself to blame for a lack of job opportunities afterwards. I do agree with her, that older people are forgetting the impact of inflation and the housing prices are through the roof (pun unintended), to the point where most "normal" people will be either without a home to call their own or it will be something their parents would have scoffed at as unsuitable for human occupancy. Negative gearing strikes back!

I would love an independent take on this as I wouldn't trust Sky to give a fair and objective version of anything race or gender related any more than I would Fox. Sadly both The Independent and the BBC has no sources other than Sky. Not saying what is claimed to have happened isn't true, but with their obvious far right bias, I wouldn't trust them to give you the full story.

warhammer 40k: rogue trader
Black Library books are a bit like the old Dragonlance books, D&D books, Forgotten Realms books, you name it. Some are good, some are bad, some are getting close to great reads and some... you grind through because of sheer dogged determination to not give up something you started. Even though it would’ve been the sensible thing to do 😁

warhammer 40k: rogue trader
For me, it's a toss up between 'First & Only' or 'Necropolis' (book 1 & 3). Milo still features in books succeeding the ghosts. That is, various books covering The Sabbath Crusade, including my current reading material, The Magister and The Martyr. Anakwar Sek Whose Voice Drowns All Others! is an interesting villain, which you get to see way to little of until the very end). Edit: really just in a few cameo roles Edit2: As for what my favourite recent 40k books are, that is actually a wh30k novel, "The Buried Dagger" and a... not a crime drama, but one not featuring space marines "The Wraithbone Phoenix". The latter is about a ratling and his ogryn friend, who're eking out a living in a scrapyard, where old decommissioned starships gets salvaged. All the while pulling off cons and scams to make extra credits (they're fugitive deserters from the Imperial Guard and have a bounty on their heads). The ogryn is one of those subjected to cognitive enhancement surgery and is both surprisingly smart and philosophical. Sometimes that is.
