The Funny Things Thread.
You all speak the same language, have essentially the same cultural background and history. If I travel 150km west I end up in a country without human speech OR undertsandable counting method. Detailed explanation; http://satwcomic.com/just-a-number Oooh... satw (Scandinavia and the World). Gorth's favourite web comic. Here Denmark is trying to teach America the differences between the Scandinavian languages: Language Lesson Related languages, yet slightly different. I've met dialects in Denmark that was more different to Danish than say Swedish.

The Kickstarter Thread
Just got an email from Logic Artists that my physical rewards have shipped from Copenhagen. I don't even remember being entitled the physical rewards, but the tracking ID definitely showed something weighing more than half a Kg being shipped Maybe I should go back the the kickstarter page and see what my $$$ entitled me to

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
The ghost spawns almost in the middle of the map, a bit SSW of the imperial outpost. It's a "depleted crystal" or some such. Stands out a bit in the snow landscape. You need to have shock frozen water (moisture collected on Tattooine and brought to Hoth's mountains) in your inventory to get the crystal. Also needs some pristine adegan crystals which are found on Alderaan and refined on either Tython or Korriban together with some other stuff (as in my screenshot). The schematics seems to be a rare drop from some a few sources. The low level ones (+16) drops regularly from the world bosses (trapjaw, ulgo siegebreaker etc.). Not 100% sure where I got the +41 from. I did hang onto it for a while because none of my toons had sufficient skill. Could have been a high level WB or a HM flashpoint possibly.

I found the BG's more complicated than complex (two different things for me). Hands up all those who regularly cast Eagles Splendor? It quickly boiled down to simple measures and countermeasures, hidden under a thick layer of unnecessary "junk", filling up spell lists and inventories with little or never used stuff (making it complicated rather than complex). One of the few things the system did right, was it actually allowed you to use positioning to some effect in some encounters. Otherwise it was a matter of buff, strip enemy spell caster of buffs, kill enemy spell caster, kill everything else. Magic was ridiculously powerful. Is voting done yet? If so, how did it turn out?

What you having for dinner tonight?
Food, glorious food! Start of old thread End of old thread You guys eat too much... No, seriously, made some "pasta bake" over the weekend (served with some nice white wine from the fridge). Delicious. It's just that it made me feel like I gained 20kg overnight Corn Chowder, huh? One of those things I need to google I suppose As for German cuisine, I always associated that with schnitzel, wurst and sauerkraut (all of which is delicious).

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Speaking of my commando... only needed one last bit (loyalty chip) for his own HK droid. Went off and played HM Maelstroem Prison. Made it to the end. Right clicked on flashing grey box next to flashpoint exit doorway and thought all was good and walked through doorway. Guess what?... no HK part. Apparently just right clicking on box isn't enough. Probably one of those where you have to do it twice (once for open, once for pickup). I guess I have to do it again Tried my hand at the force ghost on Ilum (for the magenta crystal), just to test the waters so to speak. Hehe.... got my butt so royally kicked, I'm sure I still got blue and yellow bruises on my rear. I think I need to get at least another person, preferably two to help out with that one Other than that, it was an early Sunday spent mostly walking a few toons through various flashpoints. Generally easier at those times for the sheer number of people playing and queuing. Splurged a bit on the GTN and completed my collection of ride-able animals (added the Dewback to the Varactyls and Zeldrate). Edit: Spent some time in the supplies section of Fleet and checked what my commendations can buy me (now and later the elite and ultimate ones). Frankly, it sucks. I wonder who thought a tank needs criticals, accuracy, surge and what have you? I want damage mitigation, not being a jack of all trades and master of none. Feels like an effin bard.

Where are you really from
describing it In six words... that's a bit of a challenge I still find it strange that people keep referring to different ethnic groups as "races" (since technically we are all the of the race homo sapiens, sub group homo sapiens sapiens). As for my native Denmark, until 50 years ago, it was very much a monoethnic, monocultural society (with a small German minority living in the south). Now I live and work with an eclectic mix of Aussies, Kiwis, Poms, Americans, Fijians, South Africans, Dutch, fellow Scandinavian, Philippine, Malaysian, Chinese and Indonesians. Sometimes working together with people from Singapore, Russia, Canada and what have you. The world is getting smaller.

Torment: Tides of Numenera
Hmm... not a backer, so I don't get a vote. Turn based would be my preference when/if I decide to buy the game after release. I played X-Com 3 Apocalypse not long ago (at least I think that was the one) where space bar would skip enemy movement (or rather fast forward it) bringing goons from start of turn position to either end of turn position or stop if engaging in combat It worked most excellently. Don't care about watching enemy movement animation, hit space bar a few times. Want to get a better look at what direction enemies are arriving from, watch one or two enemies (and then fast forward the rest). Would also interrupt FF if suddenly popping into view of one of your squaddies (because of overwatch fire). But then, X-Com 3 together with JA2 does have some of the most fun turn based combat out there.

This review is everything that is wrong about the gaming industry today
Just an opinion (so please take it as that), "streamlining" is not about reaching a specific target audience, it's about reaching as large an audience as possible. It's the good old quantity versus quality debate. Do you have a specific vision that you are itching to realize or do you have a burning hole in your wallet that needs fixing.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Indeed. I already got him once, but as said, wanted the republic side covered too. Then I've probably had it with scouring Hoth and Temple Grounds for bits and pieces Ah, so I could have gotten him from the Hoth or Belsavis world bosses. It was a while ago and I just emailed it to my Sith warrior who hung unto it until he had the required Artifice skill to learn the schematic. As for 'proc'... no little wonder it confused me if it doesn't have a single, but multiple uses In completely unrelated news, my smuggler girl is now level 50. Decent timing when starting out on Belsavis, as Section X is just around the corner when going there anyway. Having a bit of spare time last night, I started a new character on Harbinger and played a Sith warrior up to level 10 and chose marauder as advanced class. Time to get serious about my broad chested, dual axe wielding barbarian. I know, I had a Jedi Sentinel in mind originally, but honestly, the fire effect is just more impressive looking on a barbarian Since nobody in my guild has any high level republic toons, I'm still considering moving my commando to that server too. Covering more ground that way.

Did they remove the tutorial in the enhanced edition? Mind you, it took me 8 years to actually notice it had a dedicated tutorial (before that, I thought Chateau d'Irenicus was it).

No worries. As said, never seen a +33. I've got +16 and +41 magenta schematics (so far) I wonder if somebody can enlighten me about terminology? What the heck is a 'proc'??? As far as I can determine from context, it seems to be something people use to describe the triggered effects that occurs while in combat.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Actually, they seem to be used for all levels. The link also gave me the answer what I needed the "shock frozen" water for that I ended up with in my inventory one day running around doing GSI missions I've never seen a +33 schematic, but I got the 3 mid level schematics (endurance, power and critical) and a single higher level schematic. I think it dropped from a HM flashpoint. Not sure if visible on screenshot of my Sith Warrior (rather dark image), but they also come in +41 versions. I might have to get a few guys together and see if I can get that last magenta crystal bit for a slightly less popular/unusual colour.
