Who else is disappointed with the game's battle music theme
archangel979 replied to constantine's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Same. Beta battle music makes me want to turn it off instantly. Since I can only watch youtube video of BB and cannot turn it off, I turn off youtube videos

Merchant Gold / Shop Interface
BG games also had no gold limit but had price for selling things being reduced with each additional same item sold. That was a cool little economic simulation. Will PoE have something similar?

Which dev should PLAY at PAX East
I also voted Tim Cain. We want Tim Cain! We want Tim Cain! :D :D

Apologies to Obsidian
archangel979 replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That any feedback is useful feedback and closing down forum a lot prevents that. I need to find another quote from some dev I read some time ago. It was even better and talked about how even people not being nice when presenting feedback obviously have lots of passion to do so and should be at least heard. Closing down communication to all kinds of feedback is always a bad idea.

Apologies to Obsidian
archangel979 replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)...Which would, presumably, be very bad, because...? Because of this (especially the underlined part): "Do you see the feedback you get from the community as a form of Open Development? Brian Fargo Yes, definitely. If you're working in a creative industry, it's important to have an honest and open communication with everybody. Everyone should be critical but in a positive way, and you can then take the helpful feedback to make the game better. Putting the game out to the audience… Well, people are extremely honest. They don't care how the recipient of their criticism might feel (laughs). So sometimes it can be pretty harsh, but it's definitely very valuable, too. The community helped us a lot to make the game better." EDIT: It seems people misunderstood the point of my post so I extended the underline.

Chris Avellone Interview with XP4T - Minor spoiler warnings
I'm literally incapable of comprehending the developer thought processes that went into this decision. Let me explain it in the words of another immortal game: "We need more minerals."

Apologies to Obsidian
archangel979 replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I only apologize for that one post I made where I called out the whole dev team. That was out of frustration after being quiet about lots of issues for months and waiting to see if things improve enough. I am still not happy about progress made but I will be more civil about it in the future.

Poll: Should there be a penalty for being knocked out?
Then will you reload if your once per day ability does nothing? (lets say you will not be using rest infinite mod).

PAX South 2015 live thread
So to get back on track, I wish they showed more gameplay and talked about it more. Although the second part was cool about talk about a TB game. Also when questions were asked I would have liked less questions but answered by all devs there, not just Sawyer.

PAX South 2015 live thread
Well it has kind of gone off topic from original purpose already which was to talk about the PAX stream even if feminism is no longer mentioned. Any additional feedback about the stream is just going to get lost or it is lost as anyone reading from start will stop once they hit the "rough" parts.

Longevity - resting, HP/endurance, fatigue, spell/ability conservation, etc.
Well that sounds right since for first 3 months we all complained that you run out of health before running out of spells.
- bad design decisions

Poll: Should there be a penalty for being knocked out?
Also if I understood right, once your character is down he is immune to further damage like Fireball that he is within range of. At least that should be changed.

No updates in a long time?
You should read the update subforum about this?! It says there nothing this week but next week.
-
Poll: Should there be a penalty for being knocked out?
You can enable permanent death in the game's menu. That is for when your Health goes to 0, not when your Endurance goes to 0.
-
Poll: Should there be a penalty for being knocked out?
I voted Yes, a minor penalty but I would rather there is a choice in options to decide between a minor and a major penalty. But with no option, for the general audience better to have a light penalty.

Disappointing combat in 392
So did it look slower to you based on two last streams that used unreleased beta version?
-
bad design decisions
Don't you lose Health as well along with Endurance? So getting knocked out equals to losing most health possible from one battle (well without being healed with spells during the battle). Anyways, I am sure Bester can add something in his mod as well. Just propose to him something smart that is not too complicated.

PAX South 2015 live thread
QA lead, eh. I didn't know you guys read these boards :D I hope you understand that my using word Bugsidian in some posts was not really what I think of you guys. I don't really think you guys are at NWN2 or Kotor 2 levels. It was more like how people talk about Obsidian in different places for light fun.

PAX South 2015 live thread
Best part of the stream was how Tim got excited when they talked about a turn based game. I hope OE does a Pathfinder turn based game and puts Tim in charge. And give him better story than Temple of Elemental Evil. Pathfinder has lots of cool stuff. Something like Kingmaker but with expanded story bit would be awesome! They can call upon their cooperation with InXile, take their turn based system in PoE engine and modify it for their needs. Numenera is d20 system as well and uses similar building blocks as d&d and pathfinder and is easily modified.

Betabackers: Are racial bonuses important?
This system sounds more fun than what we have now. Who else wants GordonHalfman to be given Sawyer's position for PoE2? :D
- bad design decisions

Who is going to wait till the first update before playing?

[392] Enemy casters need to be more threatening
Seeing clerics in bg1 start casting spells was always high tension as there was either hold person or rigid thinking incoming and both spells were bad news. And they were hard to take down in time.It is not only about wizards.
