  1. Which proves the point that you don't need to be level 999 to kick incredible amounts of ass.
  2. The greatest advantage of Master speed was not running faster. It added +6 to your defense and two extra attacks per round. Master valor added +4 (+6 maybe?) to defense, and +4 to all your saving throws.
  3. Evil, yes. But there's a difference between being evil and using the dark side. In the D20, you would be awarded 2 DS points for choking Han Solo. One for attacking a nice guy, and other for doing nasty things with the Force. However, taking out R2 with the Force would only get you a single DS point. The action itself is evil, but the Force is not being used to harm living beings.
  4. As I said, using the Force to harm others is considered DS. No matter what you think about it, it's what Lucas decided when he created the whole thing. You have LS powers to augment one's abilities, and you have DS powers to bring grief to others. If you like to choke people, go DS. You can't have both, sorry.
  5. You already have Force wave as a neutral power. If the Force is used to harm other living beings, you should receive DS points, so don't complain.
  6. No, I'm not going to forgive you. Just use the search function. There has been extensive posts on this topic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funny that, with all the spam that's been posted around here, you chose to pick on the only one which is not 100% pure spam.
  7. Oddly enough, you could 'deactivate droid' on his hp tanks... ^_^ Hmm... considering he dealt near 50 dmg on each attack and always landed his blows, that would have been a challenge. Or maybe just cheap, dunno.
  8. I presume you are referring to 'Force breach'? Yes, I know of it. And no, Malak only uses it if you are beyond melee range, if not, he just pounds at you with his lightsaber. And even if he uses it, even better, 1 free round to land 50+ damage on his sorry ass. If he tears my force powers down, I retreat, bring them up again, and proceed to mop the floor with the Dark Lord. Simple, really.
  9. How come Jedi robes aren't normal clothing? Can you provide any example in which Jedi robes provide superior protection to that offered by regular clothing? Anyway, a well planned PC doesn't really need that def bonus. Adding an armor bonus to the already insanely high defense values of the Jedi classes is overkill. Def 25 is considered to be a fairly high defense value. At the end of K1, using Force speed and Force armor, you could go all the way up to 36+ defense, with the SF/Qel-Droma robes. Short of Malak, nobody would ever touch you (Malak rolled at +38 I think). I know, not everyone is supposed to know how to develop a character into a killing machine, but that is part of mastering a cRPG as well. Oh, well... who needs Jedi robes when you have Sith pijamas.
  10. These are good news. Care to post the link to the thread/preview you got that from?
  11. So, your character sheet reads 'Jedi', but you're just another peasant low on your luck. Oh man...
  12. There is a reason to have a zero def value on a robe. The reason is, zero is the def value of the rest of clothing. I don't see how Jedi robes are different.
  13. Yeah, fine. I may accept the fact of Jedi wearing armor (even though I don't like it), since in the EU it's not unheard of. But, what I don't see coherent, gameplay-wise or storywise, is that Jedi robes are treated as armor, but without incurring in the penalties associated with armor. Gameplay-wise, a Jedi PC doesn't need a boost to defense, the game is already easy enough. And story-wise, there's no explaining how a piece of cloth may offer protection against blaster fire... or worse. In fact, in the movies Jedi are often hit by blasters, and it doesn't seem their rags protect them at all. But then again, I may be asking this game to be something it was not meant to be. BTW, how come we always end up hijacking the thread so badly? "
  14. It's been speculated how that could be. Wether PC was stripped of his/her force connection (like Ulic Qel-Droma), or he/she lost the ability to use the force due to not exercising it for a prolongued period of time, much like Kyle Katarn in JKII. Whatever the case, the PC is cut off both from the DS and the LS. I'm now wondering... what's the whole point of starting as a Jedi class if you don't have a lightsaber and you can't use the Force?
  15. I'm not speaking about the materials used to fabricate the robes here. I'm referring mostly to Jedi never wearing any kind of armor. For a Jedi the Force provides all the needed defense. Jedi robes are, as you said yourself, a symbol of the Jedi order, the traditional attire, if you will, but not an armor. Jedi aren't warriors, they are peacekeepers, they have no business wearing armors. Not completely accurate. The only powers that you can't use while wearing armor are Force speed and Force armor, if I'm not mistaken, you can use all the DS powers at your leisure. It makes sense, since it both Force speed and Force armor grant heavy defense bonuses, which added to the armor's defense bonus results in cheese, big time. If you watch carefully, Bandy only uses DS powers and Force immunity, so he's not 'cheating'.
  16. All right. But this is a RPG after all isn't it? You should be allowed to do whatever you felt like (within reason). Anyway, I wouldn't really mind if only Jedi could wear Jedi robes, but it's a long way from there to considering a piece of cloth a +5 armor with max DEX bonus of +8, and an extra +5 to WIS. Darth Bandon's armor was balanced and coherent with the SW universe. Qel-Droma's & SF robes, were not. If the standard clothes had looked like Jedi robes, that's all I would have worn in K1.
  17. It's not the same. Even with invulnerabilty you could still fail a mission. I believe they included it there just so it wouldn't be so utterly frustrating having to fly one mission over and over again. TIE Fighter had some really difficult missions IIRC. That is not the case of KotOR.
  18. Easy for you to say. You don't have to wait two more months. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gotcha.
  19. In fact I hate that idea. It's bad enough that Jedi robes are treated as some kind of special uber-armor which only Jedi can use, it would be reeeeally cheap if you needed a special training to wear them effectively. They are simply clothes after all. Since when did you need training to wear your pants?
  20. Just to knitpick: "Surviving" does not necessarily mean "killing people." Nothing says that the PC wasn't living a peaceful-but-dull existence back on Uncle Owen's farm for those years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...as well as gaining some nice bantha herder levels in the meantime.
  21. Funny... the first post you make, is to ask about cheats...
  22. This may be a silly question but, why are you all assuming those seven forms are going to be the same that Obsidian will put into the game?
  23. The skipable tutorrial in TSL is while controlling T3. Your character (along with any others on the Hawk at that moment) are lying either dead or dying. T3 is only guy that is able to do anything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was referring to the Endar Spire in K1...
  24. Agreed. Actually you don't start the game as a lvl 1 char, since after the tutorial you are like lvl 3 or so. You get tons of XP for doing ridiculous things, a clear example of what Silver stated. And a lvl 3 char is pretty powerful compared to your average Joe, not because the 3 levels, but mostly because of the class. Peasants and commoners can't get access to the classes allowed to PCs.
