Little too late for this isn't it?
213374U replied to locater16's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They're probably hard pressed as they are to get the Xbox version out for xmas release... I don't think they will have the time to put together an open public demo. I'd like it though, but I doubt it's going to happen. -
***UNOFFICAL KOTOR 2 : THE SITH LORDS FAQ***

For US Xboxers, maybe. -
Where did you get that from? It doesn't say anywhere that the level cap has been removed altogether, only that you can go above 20. Which we already knew.

Agreed. IMO it sucks big time when you kill somebody and there is *nothing* left. One of the many nice touches of Fallout was that, when you killed someone, their inventory, whatever it was, was left untouched for you to take (even if they were merchants " ). If you think taking the lightsabers off defeated foes is un-jedi-esque, then by all means, don't. Regarding that I think it would be a nice addition if you could choose what and what not you want to take, instead of being forced to take everything like in K1. In the PotJ sourcebook I read that the Jedi order is responsible for management of surplus lightsabers collected from dark Jedi or whatever. It seems every Jedi was supposed to hand over any lightsabers other than his own, to be put under safe custody. It seems reasonable that the Jedi wouldn't leave such a dangerous item abandoned for anyone to pick up.

I was thinking the same exact thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> firtst person/mouselook. Pc version only (at least, I think so) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And here I thought it was an Xbox-only effect. Maybe that was only in the US version?

Right. Dead zones which neurologists can't figure out what purpose they serve. That's a long way from saying they don't do anything. As you say yourself, they guess they are an evolutionary leftover and have no real function. Since there has never been a recorded human being which used 100% of his brain, there is nothing to compare to. Thus, it's impossible to know exactly how much of the brain is being used. There are two other issues regarding this: First, a substantially greater electrical activity in the brain would raise the temperature inside the skull, effectively cooking your brains. Not pretty. Second, there is no evolutionary explaination for 'unlocked potentials' within the human brain, since we evolved from simpler beings, not from more complex creatures. That, however, is true. There is no way to tell how far can genetic engineering take us. But I don't think it will be through unlocking dormant capabilities, anyway. All of this is going to be cut & pasted elsewhere...

Since it's going to be one of the big quests of the game to recover your own saber, it seems pretty pointless to be good at building sabers. I'd probably go for the 40 extra force points, those really made a difference back in K1.

I agree with Silver, even though I'm the purist as well. If people want to have black lightsabers, they will end having them, be it through legit game items or via mods. It would ruin the feel for me, but not everyone is me. For as long as NPCs and/or enemies don't have black lightsabers, it won't bother me. That is one of the statements most repeated by pseudo-scientists and psyche-gurus. There is no way to thoroughly check how much of the actual brain capabilities are being wasted. Maybe it's true that sentience only takes up to 10% of total brainpower, but nature doesn't give freebies. If the rest of the brain served no purpose or wasn't being used, it would not be there. Sorry, I don't think we'll be force-choking each other to death anytime soon. SW is NOT sci-fi. It's futuristic fantasy. There is no point in trying to methodically explain everything Lucas comes up with.

I'm guessing Visas Marr has the 'Force Seeing' power permanently activated, while Kreia simply has the 'blind-fighting' feat. From a gameplay standpoint it would seem Force seeing allows a blind character to fight without penalties derived from blindness, as well as providing the other advantages mentioned by Mr. Avellone. Blind-fighting probably just removes the penalties.

You just love teasing us don't you? Anyway, thanks for the info snippet. We look forward to your next ramblings!

That seems quite sound to me. It would be nice if the game gave you difficult decisions to make, not being clear which is the 'right' or 'wrong' choice. To me that is the most appealing way to put the whole LS/DS business.

213374U replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes. Alas, the JKII community coined 'n00b' as The Ultimate Universal Insult (only second to 'lamer') for new or poor players. It was impossible to play JKII for more than 5 minutes without hearing any of those words. Thus, n00b became the preferred word for '1337' players to call not-so-1337 players, rather than a shortened form of newbie. It's all about collective stupidity. " And yes, that's Grievous. I'd like to know where did you get that pic from, though. -
Why Do The US Xbox Users Get KOTOR 2 First?

This is too Monty Python for me... -
I'm guessing it's just they want to put an emphasis on the LS/DS choice of this game. In KotOR the focus was on Malak and Bastila since they were actually the characters which the story developed around. This time it's going to be your choices and your PC which will affect the story, so it makes sense the cover and all the ads are centered around that. I don't think it's supposed to represent anything else.

No offense, but it's a pretty dumb question. If you don't want any more info, just quit reading these boards altogether. It's okay for people who want to have the game plot spoiled to get all the info they want... it won't be me who denies them that. I choose carefully which posts I read and most of them, I don't. Live and let live man...
