  1. Exactly. I would usually go for a 10 STR (+0) and the highest possible DEX. That way you don't get bonus damage, but you're still pretty good at hitting things, and those +3 or +4 to DEF really help. Then again, that's something that wasn't explained in the manual, IIRC. In the D20 you needed to get a specific feat to use your DEX modifier instead of STR in to-hit rolls. Manuals aren't supposed to be puzzles or bits of info to help 'figure out' how the game works. They are supposed to be sources of comprehensive and detailed info. They used to be, anyway.
  2. It isn't his fault however. Maybe GoA was right after all...
  3. Agreed. That is the main reason why I didn't like that Dark Side much. I would've love to be able to behave like the Emperor in the movies, rather than a simple bad-tempered-launchbox-money-stealing thug. Hopefully the Dark Side will be more appealing this time... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep. Unless your character was a total jerk there was no point in behaving DS. No succumbing to your passions, not reaching out for the DS when in trouble, just plain old mugging n' bullying. Until DS is presented as in the movies or EU (I specially like Anakin Skywalker's downfall), I'll always go LS first.
  4. It's obviously the 'I hear voices whispering' button. Ooh... I'll just go to bed now. Tough day.
  5. Deus Ex, I agree. Deus Ex IW however, was a poor excuse for a RPG, and a boooring FPS.
  6. Yes... my eyes are sore too...
  7. It doesn't make much sense if he decided to leave his old life of killing by becoming... the Mandalore, does it?
  8. Yes. It's called 'XP inflation'. First time you open your inventory screen and TADA! you level up.
  9. Umm... now that you mention it. I believe since I knew the D20 system I had no problems understanding all the penalty/bonus system. But come to think of it, I don't think there was any explanation of the inner workings of the combat system.
  10. That's because Deus Ex IW sucked as a RPG. Don't expect TSL to have such a crappy and linear plot development. And yes, you could get both endings in K1 in just one go, but that didn't allow for full exploration of plot and/or gameplay options.
  11. So, what you're trying to say is, you would replay the whole game again to get to try some new items, maybe a few new fights, but you wouldn't replay it to see the alternate ending and try other gameplay options? Get real.
  12. You have a point. However, you don't have to save the universe. You can conquer it. Now on the other hand, taking over a barn doesn't really qualify as a valid game plot...
  13. The scary thing is I never actually knew that until a few play thrus. This is another example of just how piss-poor the instructions manual was that was shipped with KOTOR I. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, sometimes it really helps to read the item descriptions. " Anyway, the +0/+2 bonus awarded by the short saber didn't make that big a difference. In the lower levels, it was better to stick with single saber, and in the higher levels, the penalty wasn't so bad.
  14. Yeah, I think it will be much like Trask, who wore a Republic uniform under his Republic uniform. "
  15. I don't think it'll be so blatant as the PC having killed multitudes of people. I think it'll be a bit more personal or subtle. Perhaps he fought and killed his Jedi Master because his Master told him he wasn't to join Revan and Malak. I think it'll be a bit more personal such as that, rather than just some mass murdering spree. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That wouldn't warrant Force disconnection. Probably the Jedi could forgive something like that. Maybe the PC attempted something eeeeevil that didn't involve any killing. That would appeal more to those who don't want their character to be a murderer, let alone a mass murderer. My guess would be the PC had something to do with the old Sith. Perhaps trying to contact the old ghosts or stealing Sith relics in order to gain knowledge. Perhaps the PC even succeeded at it, and the Jedi decided it was too dangerous for the PC to retain his/her abilities.
  16. Careful there. Your liking or disliking one particular type of music may be biasing your perspective. You can't claim one's musical preferences are 'better' than other's.
  17. I think it's a nice addition. I for one would have liked to play the part in which Canderous and the others have to get back to the Ebon Hawk trying to escape from the Leviathan. Instead of watching some cutscene, you get to play it.
  18. It would appear some people are attempting to disrupt this poll... "
  19. Maybe you did that. I didn't. It would have been so un-Jedi-esque of me... "
  20. Well if you take Maul's tattoos away all that's left is your average horned Jedi, it's no big deal. Until It's confirmed you can get tattoos, I'll go for Handmaiden/Visas Marr.
  21. That would be Jerec... "
  22. Yeah, well. By your standards, Han Solo looked gay as well, and he turned out to be one of the best characters of the OT.
  23. Huh? Isn't #65 'Show of force'? I have read that one, in fact i've read the whole republic series as far as has been published, and I haven't seen any mandalorians. I must have missed them. Care to say exactly where is that red masked warrior leading the mandalorians?
