  1. Unfortunately they confused Malkavian madness with plain idiocy, IMO. I mean, there are a whole lot of different kinds of mental illness but, I don't think any of them involves talking like a 16th century buffoon. I'd much rather play a total paranoid or sociopath Malk. The fact that the ridiculous dialogue is actually forced on you (no apparently normal dialogue options whatsoever) doesn't help much, either. The conversation with the stop sign was a nice touch, though. ^_^
  2. I don't know if it was overrated, all I know is I didn't get hooked to the story enough to finish it. But, since Hades thinks it's good, there must be something to it.
  3. Well, technically FOT isn't a RPG. Its only resemblance to 1&2 is the setting. I enjoyed FOT quite a lot but still I don't compare it to FO and FO2... they are different genres. Anyway, can you become a pr0n star in BG? 'Nuff said.
  4. Yep. That's the same crap they pulled with Darth Bandy's armor in K1. I'd rather not have those items in the game than have them like that.
  5. True. However vampiric flirting isn't about love or sex. It's about manipulation and power, and vampires are usually into both.
  6. I hear you. One would think that being neighbors and all we would do better at understanding each other. Ah, the bitter irony...
  7. I think that is true for console ROMs, but I don't think it applies to PC games. Pretty absurd rule anyway.
  8. Two different issues here. I enjoyed the game very much, but then again, I would have enjoyed it too if it had lacked textures somewhere, sounds or whatever. The game lacked (or suffered from very lousy) QA, and that's a part of the development process. It's not I don't think the game was worth my money. But if I buy it, I might be promoting a model of game development I don't quite like.
  9. Well, it's a matter of opinion it seems. I don't deny that BL was of an excellent quality and possibly the best of 2004, but I'm just not going to support lousy QA by buying that product. If you don't care about that, it's your call.
  10. Damn shame that the best RPG of 2004 isn't polished enough to pay for it. I don't want to think about the worst RPG.
  11. I see. Well, it seems I won't be bringing about any more nuclear holocausts circa 1700 AD. I never was a l33t civ player but I was getting really frustrated with this one.
  12. Um, because having a stat-driven gameplay doesn't assure it's a RPG. In fact that's the less defining aspect because all games have stats, only difference is that in some those stats are to some degree customizable. And if a game has some of that stat customization, it's automatically labeled as a RPG or RPG-whatever. Since the true PnP RPGs are so much more than that, that definition just doesn't cut it.
  13. If that is indeed the case, it sucks if you ask me. In a PnP session in which there are a pilot, a Jedi, and a tech specialist, you won't have the Jedi piloting ships or crafting items since that's what other characters are for. Having it otherwise is a lame way of adding balance to the game. But wasn't this about BABs?
  14. Spybot works just fine for me.
  15. Well, according to the DVD trilogy, there is no 'original' Anakin Skywalker.
  16. Um, cheating AI? I just borrowed Civ 3 from a friend and started a game in the wimpy difficulty level. I must say I'm getting my ass handed to me by the other 8 civs who like to gangbang on me while keeping perfectly friendly relationships with each other. Not to mention they can wage war and at the same time research much faster than I can. I find it rather frustrating that a prehistoric warrior unit can stand up to and force my knights to withdraw from battle but hey... If you know for a fact that the AI cheats, I think I'm going back to CTP1 real soon. <_< That's what I heard, too. CTP1 was called Civilization back when it was released though. Apparently things went bitter with Sid and since then they aren't allowed to use the Civilization name.
  17. Err... my mistake. I always seem to confuse both.
  18. Agreed. I think the game wouldn't be being bashed so badly if there wasn't so much hype about it. If they actually fix the more blatant bugs, the game seems to be worth at least a few playthroughs. If anything, just to make all those posts about K2 not seem so much like totally wasted time.
  19. It doesn't matter. AFAIK Bethesda got the rights for Fallout so unless they intend to release it under other name, it won't be worth much.
  20. The man just owns. The old SW crew is in shambles and he still manages to draw attention with his Han "pimp" Solo half-smile . And yep, Jake Lloyd definitely looks like he could use a beating.
  21. Um, let's just say that your reasoning is not the most sound piece of logic I've found on these boards. But hey, don't let me stop you from forming a beforehand opinion.
  22. I see your point. However I still think it's somewhat contradictory to say that no one can agree on what a RPG is completely, and then fall back to the industry definition for it. If anything because gamers and industry agree as often as they don't...
