Gaaaa!!! I listened to it on the radio. I went from utter exultation to an absolute emotional low in 4 minutes. It sounded like an awesome game though. I'm starting to doubt the Sharks will make it, and even if they do, I don't think they'll go far because they can't seem to hold on to the important leads. Ok, enough of my pity party

Official Obsidian Battlefield 2 Ranked Server Up!

Every one of my KD ratios are horrible. -
Man, I'm way bummed I can't watch the Sharks/Oilers game tonight. It's not on TV at all in the Bay Area, which is crazy. It should be a doozy! Hopefully Toskala stays hot for me.

Unfortunately with the 10 game limit on out of conference play, it's tough to give much proof on my claim, although Alanschu presented what evidence is available. I might have spoken a bit soon by saying the Rangers wouldn't be in the playoffs. I do think they'd be fighting for a spot if they played in the West, because the west is just much more competitive. There are 12 teams over .500 in the West and only 8 in the East.

Are we saying that Jimi Hendrix was a Blues musician? That doesn't jive with me. Hendrix was much more than just a one genre artist. When I think of Blues, I see it as a type of rock and roll. I see jazz as more of a big band experience, but there are a ton of artists who have bridged the genre. All in al, it's a really wierd question. I can compare two artists, but comparing two genres that have many similiarities is too tough.

"World of Warcraft Teaches the Wrong Things"

Definitely agree with that. I've stuck with a few game simply because I have friends online. Most MMORPG are pretty shallow from a soloing point of view. Some games have tried to get around this by giving you henchmen or pets, but it rarely competes with a good single player game. -
Somehow I don't think Volourn takes Joe Thornton seriously. That's typical of the entire league though, West Coast teams are not given much respect. Let's face it, the Western Conference is way deeper than the Eastern. The Rangers would not even make the playoffs if they were in the Western conference. West Coast teams also have a huge amount of travelling to do. I wish the Sharks were in the Eastern Conference, they went 9-1 this season against Eastern teams.

"World of Warcraft Teaches the Wrong Things"

My guild works with many other guilds to throw events. Sometimes they are raids, but more often they are beach parties and crafting faires. I do agree that many MMORPG's do not encourage creativity. There tends to be one "right" way to do things. Crafting has specific recipes, there is always one object that is better than the other, and most dungeons require you to kill something for a reward. It would be wonderful to see that switched up a bit. It would be as simple as randomizing crafting a bit and offering alternative ways around a dungeon. This is what makes many single player games unique. -

Games are a huge problem in China. I agree with the article in many respects, but I don't think there is a set way you have to play any MMORPG. I haven't reached level 60 after 18 months of playing because I spend more time looking for cool locations and trying to get the most bizarre looking outfit. -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/game_nolan.shtml This was one of my favorite games when I was young. It's a text based game, so type in what you want to do. This is a real classic, makes me wonder if Zork is out there somewhere.

Are you talking about Joe Thornton? Because after he pushes the Sharks into the playoffs, he'll easily be ahead of Jagre for the scoring title.

Might and Magic was king of the RPG's for awhile. MM3 was great, and Clouds of Xeen combined with Darkside of Xeen made one of the first real epic RPG's. It had a pretty solid revival with 6 and 7, but it was tun in to the ground after that.

It's the new Hexen. I'm excited to see the M&M franchise getting some new life, but I'm of course concerned about both this and the new HoMM. I hope they pull them off. This is definitely a FPS...First Person Sworder game.

Brother's Grimm was far from what I expected. It definitely wasn't a kids flick. I wasn't wowed by it, but I didn't think it was a waste of time. It had the hot girl from The Matrix.

Pearl Harbor was hard to watch. It had great action scenes, but the romance stuff was utter crap. My wife and I actually fast forwarded through all that towrds the last 3 hours. It was also like 7 hours long. Seriously, I was ready to fly into a battleship after watching that thing.

I was just thinking of Syndicate the other day. It really was an unbelievable game. It really plopped you down into a living breathing world. Looking back, it was doing the stuff that made GTA famous long before Rockstar ever entered the business. Doom is one of the most important games ever. It doesn't matter if you don't like FPS games, it raised the bar for the entire industry and brought in a huge new audience.

Oooh, calf leather. That will look awesome with my baby seal beanie.

What Sony really needs to do is create a way to play the UMD movies on a TV. Right now they only work on the PSP. I heard someone was working on a way to port it, but an outside company will probably fail to keep the picture quality high. Right now there is little reason to buy UMD movies. They are too expensive and not everyone wants to squint at the PSP screen. If I can play them on the TV, suddenly I have two reasons to buy them.

I played the beta as well, and I agree with Haitoku. It's not on par with other MMORPG's. It can be compared to Diablo II or NWN since it's all instanced, but the real rub for me was the combat. It was way too fast. It felt like a clickfest, but I had no clue how effective my clicking really was. It has all the neat D&D skills, but the combat is so quick it's hard to make use of them. I suppose if you are more of a twitch gamer, it may be a better game.

How do you not have offsides? Isn't that an option you can turn on and off?

That's because the emotion wow shouldn't have both W's capitalized. I was confused as well.

Are there other kits? I seriously love the sniper kit. Some maps I'll just find a peaceful spot and watch an entire battle, just taking potshots when I see a good chance. I also love the claymores, which I believe I got you with once tonight. Still, you kicked butt on your team, Mr. Points Leader. We only played one map while I was on, but Alanschu led the pack with 14 kills in like 10 minutes. -
Why would he? Has Will Wright ever really failed to deliver? He's not Peter Moleneaux. I'm not a huge Sims fan, but I still recognize its gaming brilliance. This is just the next step.

Dubliners is good stuff...depressing as hell though. I started a new series by Bernard Cornwell about the Holy Grail. The first book was called Archer. It's a good change from his Napoleonic War era series. He's a very solid historical fiction author.
