  1. Anyone remember Strife? That was a cool FPS style game. edit: Oh Hades, did you join a RP server, or is that even an option? Not that there is real RP on those servers, but after the first month they tend to settle down as a mature group of gamers.
  2. White people control the world.
  3. 1. Survivor - the first season was awesome, and they haven't really sold out yet. It's not a comfortable experience for any of the contestants, as evidenced by the guant look they all have after a few weeks. 2. Project Runway - I don't know why really. I guess it's because they really do work their tails off on this show. They are doing something that I would have absolutely no clue how to do. They take some cloth and make pretty amazing stuff from it. 3. The first few seasons of the Real World. It used to be an interesting social experiment. They had people from various cultures interacting with one another. Runner-Up - 30 Days had a few good episodes.
  4. They do advocate chastity. For one thing, I can't really speak for Catholics, since I am Protestant (woo-hoo!). But one reason why they might oppose homosexual priests is probably the same reason boy scouts would oppose gay scout troops. Not necessarily out of homophobia, but out of safety. Imagine this: you have a male priest who has taken a vow of chastity. Sex is a part of human nature that, like any other part, starts to really get to you once you go without for a long time. Then say that this priest was homosexual. A priest who spends much of his life around other men AND young boys. The chances of a homosexual priest abusing a young boy would be greater than that of a heterosexual priest abusing a young boy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is utter BS. Sexual predators and homosexuals are not similiar. The homosexual priest has the same chance of engaging in sexual conduct with a child as the straight priest. The Catholic church WAS moving towards being more open to gay priests. It's quite recent, and a sign of our current pope, that they have renewed the attack on homosexuality. In the 90's the Catholic church even aknowledged that homosexuality is a genetic disposition.
  5. Sweet, a pro-gay argument that I didn't start
  6. Wow, they really make it sound like they know what they are talking about. It even make sme feel warm and fuzzy for owning a Xbox360.
  7. http://www.penny-arcade.com/ This one really cracked me up, but you have to visit the Rare game site BEFORE you check the comic. It's genius.

Those quotes are awesome. We need more vocal hockey players.
  9. http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_bibl.htm For the little abomination argument that Gray Jedi puts out.
  10. I thought it was interesting that they had a Muhammad figure way before this political cartoon uproar, and no one blinked twice.
  11. Dude, that logic NEVER works on die-hard christians. They seem to think that the bible was the direct words of God. Any biblical scholar will tell you that the entire bible is simply an interpretation of man. It's not the exact words of God. These interpretations are constantly changing as our culture does, hence new editions of the bible.
  12. I agree with Gabs on the arrogance and and health care, but as a teacher, I gotta defend education a bit. Education is far from perfect in the US, but it gives a lot more opportunity to succeed than many other parts of the world. Many countries lead students into trade schools at an early age, whereas the US has tons of programs to allow any student the chance to attend college. The US is also a very unique entity. It's frickin' huge, and it has an incredibly diverse population. It's a melting pot unlike any other country. It's tough to create a cohesive education plan under these circumstances, particularly when it comes to language. The US is still turning out a tremendous amount of talented young people. Many countries still send their best and brightest to the US to finish their educations. As I've said, the system is far from perfect, but I'd like to think it's slowly improving each year.
  13. You still never answered the question...who are you to judge? It says not to judge others as well...so are you not a Christian now? It also says that all people sin, and Jesus is supposed to be the redemption, so how does that work?
  14. Seriously, this guy is super loony. Who honestly thinks a few barbs on a forum is a full out attack on your religion. I need to find that section in bible where it says "Dude...chill." As for calling homosexuality an abomination, again, who are you to judge?
  15. You talk about christianity and salvation and then throw out insults in the same sentence. Do you think people will find faith because you are rude to them? Wake up, you have absolutely no clue what Gods love is. Gods love doesn't stand for calling people idiots and abominations. It is not your job to judge, it is His alone.
  16. As a christian, I was extremely offended at the way the Gray Jedi fellow carried the thread out. It wasn't such a problem that he started the thread, in fact I think people did jump on him a bit too much at first, but his responses were terribly contradictory. The fact is, he started a thread to talk about christianity with some SW fans. People with different beliefs didn't NEED to comment, but of course they all did. Then he flew off the handle, which was amusing to watch. Don't judge others, lest ye be judged something or other. I'm terrible with scripture.
  17. I've taken down two jets as a sniper. I've never been able to figure out if I really managed to hit the pilot, or I just happened to do the last bit of damage. Both time, the plane took a nose dive into the ground after my shot. My stats are horrible, but they've definitely improved over time. I was dying 3 times for ever kill in the first month.
  18. Oh, blasphemy is bad, but gay bashing is cool with you? Geez
  19. It's not like you needed to read the thread...and now you've commented twice. Who's bothering who?
  20. How do you expect to have a debate when you not only ignore half the posts, but also throw out insults? In theory, communism is an ideal situation, but it has never worked on a large scale. Near half of my students come from China, Korea, and India (not communist, but not much of a democracy either.) Many go back during the summers. They are great students because they understand how lucky they are to be in the US for their education. They work their tails off because they don't want to be forced to live the life of the average citizen in Asia. These kids have their eyes wide open...clearly you do not.
  21. What do you think of the combat itself? Great review, by the way.
  22. That's a D...How come you say it's a good movie and then give it a D? Now I don't know whether to rent it or not.
  23. USA I hate the fact that masses of intolerant people use religion as a shield for their bigotry and hatred. Drop the act and admit you're an a-hole. I hate the fact that hockey is not our national sport. I hate the insurance system, particularly medical.
