  1. I'm pretty sure if you compare PC game sales and you take out all the little casual games like Solitaire and Bridge, you are looking at a smaller games sold market when compared to all the consoles. But I'm sure we could find some sales numbers to solve the argument. On the other hand, the game industry has grown tremendously overall since the days of Fallout, so it's tough to compare sales numbers.
  2. I'm trying to make the connection here between joining the Obsidian message board and Morrowind. Perhaps he thought it was an Oblivion message board? I mean, he actually joined the board to ask the question...how odd is that?
  3. The Western Conference is frighteningly even so far. They are only like two teams that are dropping off at this point in the season. The Eastern conference is fairly tight too.
  4. BiA is also an entirely different approach to game desing, albeit closer to CoD than OFP. That is, if you are down with OPP.
  5. OFP and CoD are entirely different approaches to game design.
  6. Jagged Alliance 3 should be coming out. It has a chance of being on a par with Silent Storm, which is good enough in my eyes. I don't expect anyone to ever recapture the magic of the old Sir-Tech team, but I'll be happy with a decent squad based strategy game.
  7. If you're trying to quit, good luck to you! I'll never understand why people START smoking. I've never met a person in their 40's who is like "Man, I'm soooo glad I'm a smoker." I've met tons who have quit or tried to quit and still crave it almost every day. It just seems like a crappy thing to be tied to for the rest of your life. It's also not really all that high up there on the good drug scale. I can see the appeal of pot and alcohol, but tobacco seems like the risk is waaaaay greater than the reward. But hey, I guess we all have our addictions. Granted not all addictions stain and smell and cause health problems in the people around you, but you get the point.
  8. On the Wow expansion, I just don't think I can bring myself to grind from 58 to 68 in order to access the new areas. I wish they would build a well-rounded expansion, instead of just catering to the high level characters.
  9. Nothin' wrong with a bit o' leg and underarm hair on a lady ;-)
  10. Woohoo, exchange shooting sprees for more 1 on 1 murders.
  11. I hear it doesn't compare to Need for Steam.
  12. Whatever, Jade Empire let me hook up with both romantic interests. At the same time. And I learned a new martial arts style when it happened.
  13. Lord of the Rings + DX10 + running on high res = purty time. Seriously, everything looks insanely good. Screenshots don't do it justice. I'll jump on The Witcher when I have a couple hours to play.
  14. Speaking of PC's, I just got my fancy new Alienware-51 7500. It's wonderful. I'm now using Vista...it's not too different so far from XP, but I'm still busy installing stuff.
  15. I see no reason to upgrade to Vista unless you are getting a new computer. It's a long term decision, really. Someday, Visa will replace XP as the standard OS, Microsoft will force that. But XP still has life in it, so I see no reason to rush out to get it. But if I'm building or buying a new PC, I see no reason not to upgrade either, as it will save me the need later on.
  16. I was at the Sharks game, so I didn't get to see any highlights last night. I'll take your word on it It's good to see Edmonton beat the Blues, when did St. Louis get good again?
  17. Geez, everybody who is trashing Vista seems to be stuck in 9 months ago. Get with the times. XP wasn't all that stable in the first year, either. You can expect a a year of growing pains from any OS. I have a Macbook that I got from work. It's not bad, but it's limited by the available software. PC's tend to require a bit of know-how in order to be effective, whereas Macs are built to be easy. I think there is plenty of room in the world for both.
  18. Do you like Grand Theft Auto? Honestly I just enjoyed going around collecting green thingees so I could jump higher so I could collect more green thingees. It was a vicious cycle, but the therapy has been fairly successful.
  19. I traded it in recently, I think I got $6 for it. Still, with Bioshock and Eternal Sonata, it helped me get ME for free.
  20. Jagged Alliance 2. No explanation needed. Edit: Quest For Glory series is a close second, although V didn't really leave me with a good feeling about the franchise.
  21. LadyCrimson, I recommend taking a long look at all the arcade offerings. Beside some stellar classics, there are quite a few titles made just for the 360. Worms, a few interesting board games, and quite a few puzzle games are all done very well. And a bunch of them have coop modes, so I think you'll find plenty to do with the spouse. I know it's really strengthened Nick and Llyr's wedded bliss.
  22. I'd also imagine it would be harder to mod a mac version than a PC version, but I don't know much about it. You might want to choose an easier project to begin your modding, specifically a game with a toolset that is more user friendly about mods. Perhaps you could try to mod NWN or Oblivion into a Star Wars type game.
  23. My daughter enjoys drooling on the Xbox controller. Sometimes she will sit and chew on the second controller while I play around on ME. I'm serious about the mouse and keyboard being absolutely useless in ME. It's a very basic control scheme. But I'm playing on casual, so what do I know
  24. OMG Ban plz k thnx.
  25. Games with interesting gameplay? I'll be honest, gameplay isn't that big of a concern for me. I mean I want adequate gameplay, which Bioshock has. But I don't care about the challenge of it. At some point in my life, I stopped enjoying challenging games and started looking for games that entertain me. I play almost everything on easy, and I love every minute of it.
