  1. A student gave me Command and Conquer 3 for Christmas. I'm pretty sure I work at the best school ever. His dad works at EA, so hopefully it wasn't too much. Despite being sired by an EA employee, he doesn't have horns or a forked tail, so the Evil Empire stuff might be a bit exaggerated. It's pretty cool so far, definitely causing me to reminisce about my High School days playing the first one and Red Alert. I love the cheesy live action sequences. It seems as if Kane is the only one actually acting in them, everyone else is like "how did my agent convince me to do this?"
  2. Is the alien supposed to be devoid of emotion and go "whoa" a lot? Because Reaves is the best in the business there.
  3. Hmm, you know, if most of the world digs something and you are part of a small minority that doesn't, maybe YOU are the one that needs to examine your tastes. I mean seriously, Disney and Harry Potter? It's fine to say "not my cup o' tea" or even "I've outgrown such things" but calling them crap is pretty ridiculous.
  4. Bruce Campbell is one of my favorite people ever, but I'm not sure how he'd fit into Middle Earth.
  5. I'm impressed with the way the Islanders organization is handling the incident. They are basically sending him to counseling and making it very clear how against his actions they are. It's supportive of the player and stern at the same time.
  6. He's made it pretty clear RPG's aren't his bag. I don't see why you would fault a person for voicing their personal tastes. I wish I made money voicing my opinion.
  7. I've been listening to a lot of Beck and Damien Rice.
  8. Achievements grow hair on your chest. I did skip the shady quests, but I suppose I'll need to go back and finish them if I want completion.
  9. A sequel to the Hobbit sounds a bit odd, but I am excited to hear this. The guy who played Bilbo in the trilogy might be able to fill the role, although he is up there in the years. He's a good actor, I really liked him in that Jack the Ripper flick (From Hell?)
  10. Heh, the Towers of Hanoi puzzle was in Noveria in the generator core. All Therum had was get combat in the ruins. I really expected a cool boss fight with a Krogan in Therum. I thought there might be some decent banter, since I had Wrex in my party. It was fairly disappointing.
  11. Seconded, that would be a bit of a blunder. Prince Henry for teh win!
  12. Just finished and I loved it. It said I had about 31 hours of playtime, but I feel like I put more in. I was at level 48 at the end, and I feel like I should go back to a previous save just to get the level 50 acheivement. I played Engineer on casual and the combat was a breeze, but I don't really play these games for the combat. I also kept Wrex with me pretty much from where he joins up, but I didn't get the Krogan ally acheivement. I don't get it, but I enjoyed Wrex more than anyone so no biggie. He's like Eyeore (donkey in winnie the pooh) with a gun. I might be willing to replay as renegade with a different party, there seemed like enough different choices to warrant it.
  13. Oh, I get it. Labrynth is the connector here. Whee
  14. We should see it by 2020 then.
  15. I've never seen the need for a battery recharge thing, the controller lasts for a very long time on regular batteries. I don't know how big it is, but I remember you said you lack space, so it might not be necessary. I suppose it's eco-friendly The keypad might be nice, it's a pain to pick out a message, although with a headset it's pretty easy to just send a quick recording to anyone online. There really isn't any use I could imagine for a keypad other than messaging people. You can also network your PC and send messages to people on Xbox live using your PC, although I've yet to test it.
  16. Actually, they've been cutting away at their games' freedom of exploration since Daggerfall. Which would be understandable if they used that reduction in scope to improve the writing and the storyline. But, apart from 1 or 2 quests in Oblivion, they did nothing of the sort. I would agree with that, but after playing Shivering Isles, I'm prone to think they can tell a good story, create good characters, and establish and overall atmosphere. They just need to keep the scale smaller, or trust their best writers with everything. I guess we'll see.
  17. Xard, if you need to talk about your childhood, we are here for you. Seriously, there is nothing that a good cry on Hades shoulder can't cure.
  18. As Kor mentioned, you should see The Machinist. It will give you quite a different perspective on him as an actor.
  19. Rescue Dawn - Extremely good, made me want to rent the documentary. Christopher Bale may be the best actor of the last couple years.
  20. Actually, I stopped using Xfire because of NWN2. I never really missed it, and have continued without it since.
  21. I've always been under the impression that the higher performing the laptop is, the shorter the life span. I would think that would just be based on the temperature that a gaming rig versus a non gaming rig has to run at.
  22. Is this DSL or Cable? Is it plugged directly in or is it wireless? Are you using a router? I know I have issues with my Cable because of the splitter. One line goes into the TV and another goes into the modem, and occasionally it drops out. If you are using a router, you might want to play around with the settings there. I used to have packet loss when I ran at 108 mbs, but when I dropped to 54, it became more stable and honestly made zero difference in speed.
  23. Sometimes Dark Raven's negativity makes me cry on the inside.
  24. Hmm, I've crashed twice to the desktop during the introduction. I'm running Vista and the 1.1a patch. I guess I might have to wait on 1.2. Oddly enoigh, it never crashed when I was playing on my old PC with XP, but it ran terribly.
  25. Wow, I'm sorry your childhood sucked.
