Mormons
That's really the way all religions go though. Religions adapt or die out, just like everything. Speaking of adapting, I thought this was fascinating: http://news.yahoo.com/final-interview-cardinal-says-church-200-years-date-190009537.html I'm expecting some more progressive movements in the Catholic Church in the next decade or so, and I would be surprised if the next Pope is as conservative as Pope Benedict. This is also a reason I think folks who call Islam inherently violent are shortsighted. Islam is going through the exact same conflict that Christianity did at almost the same point in their histories. Call it the 1500 year itch.

It's interesting? I mean I'm familiar with most of it, Mormonism has come a long way from its very cultish roots.

Shadowrun Returns
Wow, that looks pretty nice.

Guild Wars 2
It will be a good deal easier to craft when that market is running consistently. SadExchange you might want to try to mix it up a bit in between story quests. A little bit of WvW, a little bit of exploring other race's area's, and you can keep it very fresh. I gained a couple levels just exploring all the starter towns and Lion's Arch.

Guild Wars 2
The levels have been flying by. I was questioning their level 80 cap, seemed pretty high for launch, and the original GW only went to level 20 so I thought it might not work for them. It was also a bit slow at the early levels, at least it felt that way because most games really fly through the first 10 levels. GW2 instead evenly paces all the levels, so going from 21 to 22 took about the same time as going from level 2 to 3. This really keeps the experience smooth, I don't feel any grinding at all.

Xcom
I wouldn't really call the AI brilliant in the original. I remember quite a few suicidal sectoids. I'm also not sure how the console development makes the AI dumber. I have many concerns about whether they will utilize the PC fully, but AI is not one of them.

Xcom
Watching a video of a turn based game sounds terrible to begin with. It needs a demo to really give the feel of it. I'm just going to buy it though, I trust the developer.

SW: The Old Republic Part 4
Single player content not being a priority anymore. I would of said that PvP and group PvE would be the focus more than class content now that it's F2P. But my knowledge of MMO's is pretty poor. Pretty much every MMO has to continue developing PvE content and expanding the story, regardless of f2p. It actually provides income for them, because they sell it as an expansion. They put out a few new areas, raise the level cap, etc. Now I'm interested in how the individual stories will be continued. My guess is those won't get much attention, instead focusing on one large story for each faction. But that remains to be seen.

The Secret World (MMORPG by Ragnar T
It's a shame because it is a really interesting game with a great setting. But the content is limited, I felt after a month of play that I'd done a large part of what was offered, and so I didn't keep my sub. Hopefully they can keep the doors open and add some content down the road, I can see myself returning to it eventually.

What you did today
Definitely a crazy move by the Dodgers. Hopefully the Giants just keep winning series, they still have the better rotation. The Dodgers just took on over 200 million in contracts.

Guild Wars 2
It is much better than Guild Wars.

Guild Wars 2
Bit of a rough patch for launch, I haven't been able to log in this morning and it seems like a widespread issue.

Guild Wars 2
I'll be on Crystal Desert. I believe you can meet up with folks regardless of servers, at least eventually. You just have to friend them or something. The exception is WvW play. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-world-of-choice-the-regions-of-guild-wars-2/

The Dumb States of America
That is a pretty easy number to reach, just sitting in my classroom has exposed me to a few thousand people in different financial situations.

The Dumb States of America
We have a lot of experts on the US here, but I wonder how many of you have really travelled across America and met these people below the poverty line? I have.
-
The Dumb States of America
Wow, you actually believe this, don't you? Ignorance really IS bliss! If I told you that 10% of the population in the US are not even food secure, would you believe me? 10% isn't 40% though, that is what I'm getting at. I totally accept that 10% are struggling to put food on the table, and that is unacceptable. But that article was misleading.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
I imagine many people prefer playing it on Steam and not worrying about whether they can get the older disced version to run on their current rig.

The Dumb States of America
That article doesn't really establish what that 0.3% wealth that the bottom 40% share looks like. These aren't people living on the streets, they are people with food, clothing, shelter, cell phones, cars, TV's, and a bunch of other nice things. So excuse me for not weeping for the inequality of wealth in the US. This is coming from a guy who lost his shirt when the housing bubble burst, by the way.
