I'm pretty sure Borderlands is a game best played with others. So you were probably playing it wrong.

Not sure if serious, but if you notice there is actually only one film from 1997 on that list, and none after 97. So Titanic (1997 release) is barely at the point where it would really be considered. It did win 11 academy awards, so your argument is pretty shaky here. Glad to hear about the pacifist playthroughs in Dishonored. I still plan on getting it on day 1. Kubrick only won one academy award and it was for "special effects". That's how meaningless those trinkets are. So basically you guys are saying a film can be incredibly profitable, receive great reviews from critics, appeal to a widely diverse audience from ages 8 to 80, and garner a ton awards, but that doesn't make it a great movie? I know it's trendy to hate on stuff that's popular, but we've reached the point of absurdity.

Doesn't include Fight Club, therefore it is suspect. Fight Club is also barely eligible at this point as a 1999 release.

It is hard to win an argument with Volourn when you confuse personal taste with actual facts. Volo is correct, Titanic is one of the greatest movies. It doesn't just have the sales figures, it has critical praise, a stable of awards, and is immensely popular. As for the NWN argument, we've had that one enough for the regulars to know this is a fruitless endeavor. I've already ordered Dishonored, but I am a bit concerned by that video. I just hope I can use those abilities to avoid combat just as often, the player came off as a psychopath in the video.

PSHome stinks though, I miss the Xbox Live setup. Still, everything else about my PS3 is sweet. The Blu-Ray player is solid, it's quiet, and I've never had any technical problems in the few years I've owned it. Given that I broke three Xbox's during the same span, I'm happy.

Given that they released an expanded ending for free, I'd say Bioware did about all you can expect towards addressing fan concerns about ME3.
-
Why would Bioware go anywhere? Mass Effect 3 was very successful. Even Dragon Age 2, which I didn't like, still put up good numbers. Just making games you don't like won't put them out of business, they have to stop selling as well. I'm also really not sure if TOR has failed. I know it hasn't met the lofty expectations, but it isn't exactly posting abysmal numbers. The real test will be if the f2p model actually turns a profit.

Nintendo and Microsoft barely seem to have an overlapping customer base at this point, so I don't see it being a big problem for them. Even with the Kinect, a new Xbox is going to be targeting a very different demographic.

And this is exactly why the film turned out to be so shallow - it didn't dare to adress what it wanted to adress on a deeper level. Well they were following the book there, but the book series wasn't particularly deep either.

"Sounds like you need a trooper" I chuckled every time I delivered that line.

Good ole Bethesda dialogue choice
-
Agreed. It was a nice enough change from the other super hero films out there, Nazi's make the best villians.
-
STALKER actually seems to be right up their alley. It's not like the original had deep story elements or characterizations. It was an interesting place to explore, and that's what Bethesda does best.
-
I'm not really surprised. They've failed to generate any interest with the hardcore Jagged Alliance fanbase for their other project, so it is hard for me to get excited here either.

That is a ridiculous article. Seriously. I mean, I'm kind of hoping he is lampooning the whole piracy issue, because his points are not smart. I'm pretty sure I've seen better attempts at justification here on this forum.

Not a bad idea, start all the f2p folks out with bad acne and make them pay for clear skin.
-
To be fair, if you are playing multiple flashpoints and operations a day, you probably should be contributing some money to the game. That's really the idea here, you pay as you go if you aren't doing a subscription. I played TOR for 6 months and only ran a few flashpoints the entire time. This f2p stuff is really aimed at casual players.

It's totally a cop out, and I agree they handled it badly. For me, the good moments outweighed the bad moments in the game.
-
The writing is the same. There are highs and lows. I enjoyed many of the story lines tremendously. I never got the Gault complaints. It was bad that you couldn't finish him off, I agree totally, but he literally sits in my ship and I never talk to the guy. He's pretty easy to ignore. Apparently Bioware originally had companions that you could kill or miss out on, but players complained about it. So yeah, can't please everyone.

I hope TES Online is nothing like Oblivion or Skyrim. The combat and gameplay was not the strong suit of those games.
-
Seriously, I have a stable of characters in their 30's, so if they only charge for level 50 stuff, I can enjoy it for free easily.

http://www.swtor.com/info/news/press-release/20120731 Stolen from TrueNeutral, but I thought it should go here. I'm really not sure what to think about this. F2P is a viable option, but it is pretty shocking that TOR is abandoning the traditional model within the first year of release. I also was expecting a much more limited move here, like making the first act free and the others cost money. Apparently I am in line for a ton of cartel coins, so we'll see how useful those are.

It's a common mistake, but I'm not actually the President, so your rant is a bit misdirected. Have you ever been to the US? You seem to have a lot of confusion about the country. I've never been to Russia, so I won't pretend to know what it is like.

Delfosse, I'm sorry that things are so bad for you where you live.
