What are you playing now - the plays the thing
Hurlshort replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Computer and Console
Really Hurly, sometimes I think you would give money for a man who brakes in to your house and pisses on your cerials, because "he clearly went much trouble getting to my house and should be awarded" And sometimes I think you and a few others spend a bit too much time trying to vilify game companies. They are offering a ton of free content for a game that was released less than a year ago. Quite a few of you clearly think the game is worth your time, but not your money, which makes no sense to me. Also, I played both DDO and LotRO extensively both as a subscriber and f2p. First off they both didn't go f2p nearly as early as TOR, and secondly they had plenty of limitations. You had to grind out points to purchase things in LotRO, and really you are paying to expand the storyline because of the expansions and adventure packs. -

Yes, lets complain about the fact that a company is trying to make money off the game they spent hundreds of millions of dollars producing. So you can unlock those coins for $15, or you can buy that many for $10, which is the smarter plan unless you get something else for a month sub. Honestly these complaints sound a bit ridiculous, you can literally play through two full storylines, which is hundreds of hours of gameplay, without spending a dime. What do you expect? This game costs a lot of money to run. -

They need 45k in 28 hours right now. They've been adding a lot of people too, up to 5200 contributors. I'm watching this very closely, it is a lot more stressful than the PE one, which is the only other one I was really excited about. -

Most of your restriction on money and such are to prevent gold farmers from working with impunity. I thought the hotbar restrictions were a bit odd, but can't you use your coins to unlock them? If you were an original subscriber you should have plenty to get a couple things like that, without spending real money. As for the helms, TOR is actually the first MMO where I like the helms. My trooper helmets were always pretty awesome, and my jedi has a hood so you can barely see his tiara. LotRO had the worst helmets I've ever seen. -
Wait, you can't walk around in the levels disguised? That is the best part of the game!

Yeah, to be honest the whole Brotherhood or House choice was huge for me, it really bothered me that House wanted me to take them out. In the end it turned me against him. And really that is why I love Obsidian. They create difficult moral dilemmas in their games, and they do so gracefully.

Definitely a busy day for pledges! Less than 60k to go in 40 hours, it's doable. -
As you kind of hinted at, we can explain the chemical reaction of love, but we can't really explain why someone loves someone else specifically. So we've answered the how but not the why.

You are in for a treat.

Agreed. That's why I don't think Absolution will be for me.

It's looking pretty tight, but at least they are getting close. They brought up a good point with Shadowrun Online, how it looked like it was going to be a good deal short and then it got $200,000 in the last two days. Rumor is that was some sort of investor, seems odd to me. -
No. Unless you mean to say there's a lot of observational data of Elvis after he died. I think you misunderstand what I'm talking about, and I probably didn't make it any better by joking about ghosts. What I see is a plan, a greater purpose, when I look at certain things. The majesty of Yosemite, or even the smile on my child's face, says to me that this is clearly more than just a matter of happenstance. But this is very individualistic, I don't expect you to look at my child and see the same thing, you will just see it as genetics. That is why I separate faith from religion by the way, I see them as two very different things. My faith makes me more tolerant of religion, but religion doesn't give me faith.

You don't believe in ghosts either?

There is plenty of observational data on God, it's just limited to the eye of the beholder.

If you are living in a basement and spending your free time coding, I'm pretty sure you are praying super hard that what you are coding hits it big time.

Well the Heroes of Might and Magic series has been continued nicely, so you can pick those up. King's Bounty is a fantastic game in the same vein too. -
That's why I don't get why you cater to the evangelicals at all. Where else they gonna go? That ridiculous American Family Values party? They certainly aren't going to go vote democrat.

The LOST thread we had going was pretty epic. That and the NHL thread are what made me a regular here.

Well that will encourage you to nurse a single beer all night I hope you don't feel we are all yelling at you to drink, it is definitely a vice and it is a cool that you've chosen to avoid it.

I really am agreeing with Volourn a lot lately. ME2 was my favorite in the trilogy. Yeah, I would have enjoyed more plot development, but the character development was great, and the suicide mission was rewarding, particularly after hearing how many players didn't get their full team through it alive.

Yeah, buying up real estate is one of my favorite parts of Saint's Row. It scratches some sort of itch.
