Doom had a shareware version, so I'm not sure your example is all that great. Considering you can get many titles for pennies on the dollar nowadays, what with Steam sales, humble bundles, etc., I'd say the arguments for piracy are pretty weak. But it has been awhile since we've gone rounds on this, so maybe it's time.

I will be watching Labrynth with my kids tonight, for sure.

This was a huge shock. I'm not even sure how to go about my day, now.

I almost played a bit of Battlefront today. This afternoon I decided to try a quick match, but when I started it up, it needed to update Origin. Then it needed to update the game. So I left and found something else to do, and when I came back I was no longer in the mood. So tonight I had a bit of time before bed, and decided to give it another shot. I'd already updated, so it should be easy. Not so fast! I need to update my gfx driver. Apparently the one from a couple weeks ago was out of date. So I'm going to bed early.

I'd have to make an alt. The reputation of Hurlshotâ„¢ is much to established to start posting such hyperbolic hogwash.

Penny slots is really a misnomer. If you select all the lines, they are typically running you about a quarter per spin. $100 will go fast at that rate. My wife won about $80 on a Lord of the Rings machine a couple years ago, the fun part was they played video clips and gave you some choices to make while you played. But yeah, slots have the worst odds in the casino according to the math. Still it is hard to resist the idea of a big win on one spin.

We really need some libtards putting up Huffington Post articles to help balance this place out.

Hah, we did the timeshare thing one time, I think we got a free lunch and $100 gift card out of it. I had zero interest, but my wife was ready to sign. I have an RV, why would I possibly want a timeshare? The guy looked like he was going to hang himself at the end. I also like that the 'free shuttle' was no longer available to take us back to our hotel at the end!

Considering Raithe pretty much keeps this thread alive, and has posted quite a bit of good stuff, I'll forgive him a stinker or two.

Yeah, I'm too much of a wuss to do any serious gambling. I always budget around $400 for gambling, but then freak out when I'm down $100 and give up. I also cash out super quick when I get up by a little bit, so I pretty much never spend much time at the tables. That's alright though, Vegas has way more to offer.

I'm planning on making my first trip to the Luxor this trip to see Carrot Top, so I'll make sure to ride them. I just read a book about the building of the Luxor, actually, so my interest is piqued. I hear it is a bit of a dump to stay at though. I've looked at those jacuzzi rooms at the Monte Carlo too. :D I think I'm making the switch to M Life properties after sticking with Caesars for the last few years. They seem to be a bit nicer. Monte Carlo has a chocolate workshop during the week, you take a 2 hour class with a pastry chef and make stuff. Looks like a pretty cool thing, I've been thinking about booking it.

Where are you staying? I'm not going to stalk you, promise. I'm going in April and I've been trying to figure out where to stay. Right now I have Vdara booked.

Yes. Any mass of uneducated immigrants being uprooted and dropped in a foreign culture is going to be problematic. You brought up organized crime. Do we condemn all Italians for the spread of organized crime across the US? Keep in mind it took nearly a century to root out the bulk of their influence across the country.

Well whether it is cultural reform or religious reform that is needed, you aren't going to get it by attacking and condemning an entire group for the sins of a few. Throwing the book at specific offenders is one thing, but you need education and open dialogue for real reform.

Good game, bad RPG.

Huh, I thought it was pretty bad around here when all we did was make threads complaining about 'ethics in game journalism'. I was wrong.

You'll be at the maternity ward next year.

I wouldn't really worry about character builds in FO4. The SPECIAL chart is really just for show.

I just hope Bethesda has enough wads of cash to wipe their tears away.

Games you want that'll likely never exist

I could get into a new Silent Storm, as long as they leave the panzerkleins in the trash. Really I would just like a decent JA2 clone for basically every time period. -
Age of Empires is an RTS game. I'm not quite sure how Civilization is arcady, it is a turn based strategy game. Total War games are kind of hybrids, turn based strategy with real time battles. Although I wouldn't classify those battles as RTS, as you aren't building units and managing resources in combat. I've never played Cossacks either, but if you are building, managing resources, and armies all in real time, it would be a RTS game more like Age of Empires or Stronghold. edit: Bart beat me to it, but you can have an RTS game with more focus on the armies and troop movement. It seems like Cossacks might fit that mold.

I've never heard of that, but I'm now curious. So I am a hipster wannabe.

I think it is pretty clear that we will never get a decent Jagged Alliance. There have been enough attempts.
