  1. which has approximately nothing to do with that shirt, which has no naked anything as far as I can tell. Attacking that guy with a twitter firestorm was grossly inappropriate. I sympathize with your point on the silly PoE controversy, but if you're defending flooding the guy with thousands of hate messages for the shirt that he wore I lose a *ton* of respect for you. Ohioastro had more than a silly name, But once he read Junta it was all the same, He chose to take part, chose to object, Only his conject did not the subject reflect.
  2. Mungri was an extremely angry man, His behaviour emphasizing the lack of a game plan, Sometimes he would yell, sometimes he would scream, Regardless, his body was soon found drifting downstream. *Note: Mungri is an taekwondo master and anyone who challenges him in single combat will have a problem on their hands!
  3. Osvir was actually a dragon, who knew? A example was needed and so he cut through, The crowd stood back, taken by surprise, As Osvir stepped forth and shed his disguise.
  4. Junta was once a man of many dongs, For his own he needed tongs, In the game he disabled autosave, Out of game he can only misbehave, His shirt oppressed, His mood extremely distressed, He does naught to fight for his cause, Only sits on the forum waiting for applause.
  5. Big ol' PrimeJunta was having a ball His fat legs tumbling as he braced for a fall Luckily for the fatman he landed on his ass Big enough for him to have eaten the whole middle class *Note: PrimeJunta is really an extremely muscular gentleman So fat he looks like a ball Luckmann is more wide than tall Sex is out of the question He can't stand the frustration *Note: Luckmann is in reality a world-reknowned bodybuilder Stun and PrimeJunta went to a bench And planned to do some kissing Stun made a pass, and grabbed Juntas ass, Now two of his teeth are missing *Note: While Stun and PJ may be a couple, such information has not been disclosed to me. Junta is confirmed to having a mean right hook, however. Osvir the magic dragon, lived by the Net And frolicked in the autism mist, in a land called Lack of Liberty Little Stun paper, loved that Nerdy Bro And brought him **** and vibrators for a big ol' fancy show *Note: Osvir is not a dragon, nor has autism but is indeed magical. Whether he would enjoy Stun's oiled up dildoshow is uncertain.
  6. ??? Those two camps have nothing to do with eachother. Those "offended over the removal of jokes" weren't offended about anything, and weren't looking to be offended cause of anything or for any reason. That is not the case on the other side of the fence. So no, I disagree; there are not "perpetually offended" on either side.
  7. Except, of course, that it is also physical power. You perform great feats of physical strength in dialogue, with high might.
  8. I'm sure you can see into people's souls too and work out what they think, right? Saying "people who backed the game must love it because they are deluded" is just as pointless as saying "people who criticise the game are just trolling". Neither have any basis in logic or reality. There were reviews also up within minutes of people giving the game a zero, for example because it has "old graphics" or whatever else. There's a lot of stupid people saying nonsensical things from every spectrum. Again, it's funny that you're doing exactly what the OP is cautioning against - assuming everybody is a troll. And here again, a backer rushing to the defense of their "precious." There's a reason that Steam is forcing the people on there to disclose that they have been PAID for their opinions. Maybe you aren't aware of whats called astroturfing? Hiring shills to pretend to be real customers and give fake reviews, and now also to post in social media sites in order to control opinions. I'm not going to argue with you because I really don't care, I know how things work now I've seen many times, and the gaming industry can get away with it easily because their main demographic is children. I think you're far out of your depth, if you're arguing from the assumption that Pillars of Eternity main demographic is children, or is marketed towards children.
  9. That's not a solution to the problem. That's a removal of a perfectly legit gameplay option. You're saying "don't use these useful features because occasionally you'll pause a split-second after an auto-pause". How about, instead of denying features as you're suggesting, the game offers extra options in the keybinds that completely negate the problem? In addition to the current single keybind for toggle pause on/off, why not add an extra set of keybinds that correspond to always pause and always unpause? I believe Scouting Mode does this, with an available bind for Scout On/Off, plus two binds for Scout On and Scout Off. Is this not preferable? For a player to both be able to use whatever autopause features the game offers *and* avoid occasional incidents of unfortunate timing when a manual and auto-pause occur back to back? I wholly support the suggestion in the OP, but let's not kid ourselves and think that it is an inherent problem of the game design. It is a mistake that they, the player, are making.
  10. I hadn't heard of this until today. I am outright confused by the sentiment at play in the complaint. I doubt I can provide anything to the debate that hasn't already been covered in other threads, but I guess I can chime in just to confess being equally puzzles by the topic not being up for further discussion? The thread doesn't break any rules, does it? Why wouldn't it be acceptable to keep the talk going? I don't understand. EDIT: If people want to discuss this topic and aren't breaking any rules, why not allow it? The topic has relevance to the game after all, doesn't it? Again, I just don't understand.
  11. I haven't finished the game yet, and I'm playing a rogue main, so keep that in mind with my response... So far, contrary to Josh's goal, you want the heaviest armor possible in all cases. No. No, you absolutely do not. I just switched half my parties armor out as an experiment, and trust me--my ranged Cipher and my priest are both *MUCH* more useful with a much higher action speed. Indeed! Frontliners can wear the heavier garments, but it is wholly gimping if you pop heavy armour on anyone else. I'm only speaking from the perspective of "normal" difficulty, though!
  12. If you learn to position yourself around it, the level one fire spell is just about one of the strongest in the game - at least from what I've experienced so far, including on the lower levels. The fact that your allies are not harmed in the extended AoE (Overseeing and high INT) make the cone of fire ridiculously good, I think. That one spell pretty much carried my first several hours of combat, haha That one made me laugh during play aswell, how my squishy-as-hell wizard is suddenly performing great feats of physical strength in dialogue! One of the charms of the game, I think.
  13. Wrong section. But from what I can gather, you collect taxes on certain "turns", and you only advance said turns, when you complete quests. In other words, go complete quests
  14. Glad to hear I'm not a "save scummer"! Some of those fights though, damn, almost impossible if you don't hire adventurers, cause the natural party makeup is really bad, in my opinion-- Or again, maybe I'm just going too far of the beaten path. Either way, I would assume hiring adventurers and path of the damned go hand in hand, no?
  15. I dunno, I think it was a big mistake for me to start my first game on "normal". I feel like I'm already too far in to restart out of my own volition though, haha! I'll just have to pump it all the way up to path of the damned for the next one. Honestly though, I think I've broken the game by going so far out of my way, delaying main story missions. A character referenced something that hadn't happened yet already, so that's not good. Anyway I'm not further than you mission-wise, but I think with the fights I'm winning on "normal", that it won't get much harder I'm curious though, what is save-scumming? I save before a lot of fights, is that save-scumming? I find it a necessity, cause I've already had just about a hundred game-over screens! EDIT: I should mention that I haven't hired any adventurers, at any point.
  16. This whole response is hostile, grossly unwarranted and just putting in the worst case scenario and ignoring all other possibilities. Congrats, I'm impressed. You do realize, some folks have lives, and might not have the time to devote endless amounts of hours to one particular game. Right? Spouses, children, jobs, college, other hobbies, etc, etc. For example, I am unemployed, and don't have kids. So it may seem like I have all of the time in the world based on that assumption. Guy doesn't work and doesn't have kids to support, he's good to go. However, I am doing the following: 1. Helping a family member start up a home business, on call to assist as needed all week long, night and day. 2. Engaged to a lovely woman who demands and deserves attention. 3. I have a grandfather who is going through treatment for cancer. My grandparents here both take care of my niece and nephew, one of which is too young for school to help out. Which leads to: 4. While my grandfather is going through cancer treatments, my grandmother must care for him. Hence, I take care of the 4 and 6 year old's they normally care for half the week. It saves their parents roughly $500 weekly. 5. I am starting up a home business relating to RPG's which requires me to devote nearly every bit of free time that doesn't involve 1-4, sleep, or food to creating my own game world, RPG system, and DM'ing for folks in order to setup a customer base. This eats between 20-60 hours weekly of my time depending on a number of variables. The assumption that everyone will be thrilled to invest time in multiple times playing through this game just because you plan to is a faulty one. I may be able to fit playing through this game once, before next year rolls around. Once. All the time I can allow myself. Just how it is. So, regardless of how you feel, a simple ability to respec things if I realize everything isn't working out how I want it to, and salvage an issue which to me is a deal breaker for playing this game, would be a reasonable request. If allowed, and you have a problem with it, you can simply ignore it, never use it, and be on your merry way. Couldn't you? I mean, no one's going to show up and go all Samuel L. Jackson in your house with a gun to your head screaming for you to hit the damn button. I really don't see what folks problems are with this concept being mentioned. Some people simply really have other responsibilities, and are using this as a hobby to enjoy some free time. Limited free time which is important to them. Free time, that if lost, due to derpy companions, or a poor choice made when selecting options with your character along the way which destroy your enjoyment for the game later on. Could in fact become a straight up deal breaker of continuing to enjoy the game at all. If I were to invest 2 week playing this game, and realize my group just isn't working out, I would have to shelve it for at least 6 months. I wouldn't be able to go "Oh well, it's a great game, I'll just start a new party." I'd have to uninstall it, get back to working on the various needs in my life, and go "Man, I wish I could just spend 30 minutes shifting some attributes around really quickly and fix this mistake that was made and get back to enjoying this great game." However, you obviously have it all figured out, and everyone just wants to make broken characters and that's the devil and you must curse them for it. *nods* I get you. Oh dear God, what a massive load of- Listen, you implying that people who like the more "hardcore"/"oldschool" mechanics, such as the guy you're responding to, or indeed myself, are some kind of cretins really is providing as much to the discussion as whatever perceived rudeness/insults you found. You did that in the post quoted, as well as the more recent one right above. I don't have time to play this game for 100 hours a week either, but I still don't want a respec feature. I went over why in a reply earlier in this thread. In short, it breaks immersion and cheapens the game experience - besides me also failling to see the real usability of the feature, particularly if it is not available from the beginning and ad nauseam. I also don't find there so be any "resistance" to discussion. You have an opinion ("I would like a respec option") while others have a differing opinion ("I would not like a respec option"). The reason the discussion seems rather stalled is because it is stalled. You're not going to budge on your viewpoints, neither are most other people here. The fact of the matter is that while I can sympathise with those who would like the option for convenience; it still detracts from the game, for me. You seem to be of the mindset that that is impossible, that it could actually be a negative effect for me. Of course my opinion on a game, particularly a single-player one, is "selfish". Just like it is "selfish" of you to want this option in the game, when there are clearly people who don't want it implemented, such as myself. No difference. Oh, and for the record, I only started going to these forums about a week before release, so I'm not one of those "no-lifers who follow the development of the game religiously". Why people would want to follow the development of a game they funded, of a kind we haven't seen for more than a decade I will never know. Who do these people think they are? Participating in discussions about the game, giving feedback, shaping it along the way and being invested in it in more ways than one. What a sorry, sorry insult, friend, honestly.
  17. You guys really don't understand that he is being facetious? It has already been lightly touched upon in other places, what that cancelled game was about, you can find it if you look.
  18. I'm sure there will be plenty of writing showcasing those emotional ranges within NPCs, some even coming from your companions. Just not in a dating sim minigame format, but as regular conversation. Chit-chat. Talkie. Did you even read the rest of the post? Honest question. I personally think that poorly done romance (as it just about always the case) serves as a detriment to the game and my immersion, rather than enhance it in any fashion. I think Obsidian could create incredible romance options, but in order for them to work as intended, they would have to put a lot of ressources into them, and frankly that, to me, is not even close to being worth it - particularly for a small budget title such as this one.
  19. If you already have a Steam library, you could use it just for the convenience. Contrary to apparently popular belief, there is no need to be online when playing Steam games. It is also easy to disable auto-update aswell as opting out of any community features. I think you should support CD Projekt if you want and grab it on GoG, but pay no heed to the cries of "Steam DRM" here. I have had zero problems with the steam platform for maybe the past six years. Anyway, I'm just posting for the other side. Both platforms allow you to play offline and where Steam has DRM, GoG doesn't - but it is really not a big deal, and I still use steam over GoG simply for the convenience of having all my games in the same place, along with everything auto-updating.
  20. Hmm, I clicked PLAY but it just takes me to a slightly larger image which looks exactly like the above. They should patch that! Obsidian and their bugs!
  21. And you're a backer! Receive an email? Selected Steam in the backer portal? Is the system working?
  22. Is that an email your received? I "slacker-backed" immediately following the kickstarter, so I was never sent any of those kickstarter emails. I guess they might be doing the kickstarters first, then the "slacker-backers"? Nope, that's most likely an answer to a support ticket. I didn't get such an e-mail neither. Yes, that's the clarification email I got to the key debacle question. Obsidian responded pretty quick. They haven't made any official announcement yet at all, have they? Before or after you received your email? That seems very odd. I'm just glad that all I will have to do is go to my account profile to claim my KEY! Oh hell yeah It's still very, very odd, however. I don't understand it at all, in fact. Shouldn't they have made a topic in "announcements" or even something as a header on the website? "We are working on sending out keys, but there have been complications. Keep you posted." or whatever the case may be. It doesn't really change anything for me, as long as I get the game before friday - but it is still baffling, frankly; this complete lack of communication.
