  1. I know they have conversations and side plots and stuff, but Im a min maxer at heart and want to have full control over my whole groups builds. I didnt know I could do that with adventurers when I started playing, but now I know how! So I began making a full adventurer group: 1) Max deflection fighter tank 2) Max might + con barbarian 3) Ranged rogue main character just because all that trap XP in the first dungeon 4) I like mages. Also I had all of them take athletics as their main skill so less resting needed.
  2. Id like to enchant my obsidian cape and lovely feather hat but theres no option do so when I click on them, I can only enchant armours and weapons.
  3. Prtsrrn surely does work. You then open up paint and ctrl-v. Or if youre running the game through steam, you can use steam's built in screenshot function, default key is F12. You also get free online storage for those through your steam cloud.
  4. How are traps even a problem? Have one character level up the mechanic skill. The first mage companion you find can do it and disarm all the traps.
  5. Even though I start a new game on hard difficulty, it defaults to easy. When I noticed this ingame and changed it back to hard, it still reverted to easy. Why is this happening? Now I need to start the game all over again because I didnt realize I was doing it on easy since I selected hard when creating a new game.
  6. If this is the case then my 20 might 19 int wizard is going to love using DoTs.
  7. After a few mock characters, I finally settled on this for my Wizard: I went for max AoE / Effect Duration and Damage, also this race gets a +15 accuracy bonus against some stuff, and Merchant for the lore and mechanics bonus because I want him to be a trapper too.
  8. Im playing my first game on Hard / Expert too, and nothing is missing that I need. AoE markers and dialogue help are for noobs.
  9. But still the same website!
  10. If you actually pledge for a game and want a refund after release, that makes you a terrible horrible evil person. I pledged $20 for Sui Generis too. The beta was just released and emailed to me, do I downloaded and played. I disliked it. But I'm not going asking for a refund on a kickstarter so long as they are working on and still delivering the game, because that's what I paid for.
  11. Pillars of Eternity - 'Man, this game looks so old and outdated, only boring old farts could like this, 1/10'. Minecraft - 'Wow, this game is so retro and cool, the 8 bit graphics take me all the way back to when I was a kid playing snes games! 10/10'.
  12. Lol hypocrites ... http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2011/05/25/terraria-review '... and a slick retro 2D presentation Array; make it a stand out among the pack'.
  13. Also that reminds me of similar 'dated' RPGs - Shadowrun Returns, Spider web software games, and many other indie games on steam. Why are people using 'dated' as an excuse to mark down Pillars of Eternity when it still looks better and much more modern than a lot of other old fashioned indie games?
  14. Funny thing is I've never seen the 'dated' excuse used on all those amazing 8 bit replica indie games on steam such as Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy etc. What about Minecraft? That game looks attrocious. Or Maple Story? That looks like an anime game for 3 year old infants.
  15. That's exactly what made me think of making this thread lol.
  16. Blasphemers!!! I love Diablo type ARPGs, though I never played D1 or 2. I'm a huge fan of Sacred 1 & 2, Torchlight 1 & 2 and Path of Exile. The main difference I see is that the ARPG genre is more about making new character builds and farming for epic loot. D3 was far too dumbed down in comparison to the other games I mentioned.
  17. This game is nowhere close to as bad as Sim City was. I cant say why you are personally having that many issues with the game, but it doesn't seem that others are as it would be getting reported a lot more. This seems like a single case scenario currently.
  18. Oh yes that's right for AoE spells, but its also affecting single target spells and friendly fire grimoire abilities which sucks.
  19. Ok so I made a dwarf mage with 21 might and 18 int, also with merchant thing for a boost to both lore and mechanics so he can also be my primary trapper. Big AoEs and big damage and traps. I like.
  20. It makes plenty of sense. Expert mode disables all tooltips. The AoE markers are tooltips. You don't need to always estimate, you need to learn and memorise the AoE patterns. Back in BG1 and 2 there were no AoE markers and you could freely fireball your own party to death. Expert mode is supposed to recreate this style of gameplay. I prefer the game without the AoE markers. The only thing I don't like is that when I target an enemy with a spell and that enemy moves, the spell is cast at the targets original location instead of tracking their movement.
  21. Does might affect magic damage too? I need to know!!!
  22. Did you enable expert mode? I think that disables them.
