To sum it up more or less, it wouldn't be constructive toward a peace between the two sides. (and IMO those "no-brainer" suggestions show lack of understanding that it takes two sides to make peace and both of them need to compromise and both need encouragement)

You can go further than that and say that everyone has ambitions Russia\China\Turkey\France\UK\USA\etc.. which is true but doesn't mean they are all the same. Yes Saudi has ambitions, but this is the first I heard them being compared to Iran, usually the front runners are Iran and Turkey, at least in terms of rhetoric. In terms of support, while in recent civil war in Syria Saudia has given some direct supported to Sunni militias(like most Sunni states), it was after Iran and its proxy Hezbollah, directly involved themselves in there and the war gained a sectarian nature. Before that you can find many cases of indirect support from individuals in oil rich ME countries, but by large local authorities has worked with the "west" against it. While Iran had no calms about its direct support(i'd bet its part of strategic goals in the Sunni dominant ME, which doesn't like Shias) which is why their name/weapons are tied to many local clashes of a religious nature. Anyway considering what I sen of Iran's rhetoric, increased army build up and naval reach, development of nuclear and missile technology, its past actions, standing territorial claims etc. Neither Saudi or anyone else there come close to Iran as a threat to regional stability. @Walsingham, I hope the above answer your question. Sorry, I didn't have time for some more elaborate right now(barely half-assed this one, hopefully without too many squirrels in my way)

Even if you are being "cheeky" or "antagonizing" which is not a good way to call standing up for your rights and not answering any questions you don't feel like, as long as you're in the boundaries of the law it shouldn't matter. They need to be held to higher standard. In context the guy have been talking about his country with relatively high levels of violent crime, where the police is under immense pressure. So what he said is basic common sense. You are right as well, as long as you know how to pick your battles i.e. the right place to hold police accountable is not by arguing with armed under paid/appreciated overworked cop in high pressure job.. (especially if you live in third world countries) EDIT: Btw all of this reminded me this old video:

You confuse two separate issues. Iran seeking to become a regional power and its drive for nuclear weapons. They believe that nuclear weapons will gain them "immunity"(like NK), which will allow them freedom to act in the region without fear of external intervention. The "West" is the enemy of Iran nuclear ambition, but its not the reason for Iran regional ambitions. Iran funding of Shia extremist groups is part of long religious struggle between Shia and Sunni Muslims in the region. Btw ISIS is a Sunni group, like Egypt,Saudi and Turkey. While Iran is Shia like Hezbollah(Lebanon), al-something(Yemen), though they have been known to support Sunni groups like Hamas(Israel/Gaza) and Muslim brotherhood(Egypt). You say that Rouhani is more moderate, but all I see is him giving us the usual lip service, we herd before in the Middle east as long as the money flows. As demonstrated by their supreme leader, Khamenei, Iran ambitions hasn't changed. But unlike 2003, they now control the nuclear fuel cycle and can reach the bomb whenever they decide, at the same time they see the decline in USA regional status and deterrent power, while they despite the sanction are still stable(relitevly) and feel like they are wining(Syria), which make them consider them self as negotiating from position of power. Also I have no idea why you are optimistic or think that nuclear deal will force them to "make political changes to how they operate in the region". In fact, I even can't see how the nuclear deal will achieve its own goal, the few minor concessions that are talked about will not prevent Iran from being able to fast track to the bomb through clandestine channels. Edited.

Yeah, though in the absence of coalition forces in Iraq, they have been gaining ground in Iraq anyway, ISIS is just a new "sexy brand name". Like it or not, all those despots who held the region through police-state tactics and sectarian policies, provided stability. In the absence of law and order, failed hopes for reforms and more poverty, global jihad will flourish and we are going to see a lot more radicals and old sectarian feuds aired out.(btw this is exactly what happened in the last round in the 70s, failure communism promises and corrupt despots) Btw, other than ISIS there is also the Kurdish people who have long sought autonomy, and might size on the opportunity for them to achieve their goal of country of their own. I don't think that the nuclear deal will solve anything. It will not mitigate Iran regional ambitions (they have been funding Shia extremist groups in the region for much longer than that) On the contrary they already consider themself "on the roll" with their "success" in Syria where they went "all in" and this will net them the ultimate "win" over the west that they aspire for, without real compromise and with a huge cash flow to further their ambitions. As for Sunni dominated countries, they are already gearing up, iirc Saudi has become the biggest customer of USA arms. Furthermore, this nuclear deal doesn't prevent Iran from seeking nuclear weapons, they will be able to reach them before the UN wankers manage to get an objection draft(like in North Korea, where they discovered that the shortest path from backwater ****hole to world player, that require constant attention lies in nuclear), which would lead to regional nuclear arm race. Turkey, Saudi and Egpyt already stated they would seek nuclear power and at very least Turkey has stationed nato nuclear bombers. So the only good thing that might come out of it is a new generation of "fallout" games

Can weapons have more than one damage type? We have seven damage types(4 physical, 3 elemental), I assume that every melee weapon must have one of the physical damage types, so slashing + fire = burning sword, right? Will that apply to magical implements and abilities as well? Also what kind of weapon or attack will be measured against my Fortitude defense?( it will have Acid damage, I suppose)

I am curious if we got any new info on how Constitution affects Stamina or Perception effects Critical Damage? (sorry I haven't followed the forum very closely) Because as far as I know Stamina suppose to have the same amount of points as Health, and during combat only Warrior class can regenerate it and everyone can use abilities to replenishing stamina I think it is in "healing" domain(Int). So if it doesn't effect quantity, or effect combat, what it does? and how Perception Critical Damage bonus works? does it increase your critical strike damage multiplier(stated 150%) or anything else e.g. maybe it also effects the attack resolution shift factor giving you more change to score critical hits?

It make sense that if you use an automated system, you use save manpower hours so you pay less.. here it common practice in toll roads, buses\trains or even in your bank(online transaction vs coming in person). How does the extra time/fuel you spend compares to paying the toll fee?
-
Right right, well if no one has nothing to hide, then they don't mind being recorded as they do their public duty on the street right?? Or or If they have nothing to hide, then as a cop, you'll tell the nice IA detective everything your partner has done. Right? I wasn't implying that a person who isn't, has something to hide... I was simply stating that in the context of routine police stop, if you haven't done anything wrong, then answering in a polite and respectful manner will get you home faster. As oppose to exercise your right for the sake of exercising your right, like many idiot kids fueled with ideas from this poster might do. So that they might feel like a man, for sticking it to the man or something, because ultimately they just come out as ass***** and the cop just might go to his his car and run your plates or whatever they do, and waste your time for as long as he can... Like I said its from my experience. In my early student jobs I worked with a lot of ass***** and smartass, and I can say for a fact that they got f***ed, because I f***ed them every time. Obviously they got the most polite answers and strokes to their egos and felt like kings, but ultimately they got the bare minimum with the most amount of pain possible, compared to every polite person, who usually got 120% in fraction of the time/nerves. It also my observation from my interaction from the other side of the fence.
-
Some of the advice in that poster seem to be geared toward the type of ****, who go out of their way make their displeasure at security guards known or trying to be smartass about the process. Honestly, no one gives a **** about your displeasure, we are all in the same line, the guards are just doing their job and being a dushbag about it ain't going to speed up the process. IMHO if you have nothing to hide, the best policy is to be polite and respectful, because they are just doing their job. In fact its good advice for life in general for dealing with everyone, I hear a lot of stories from friends about how they got what they wanted faster by being **** and smart asses, but from my experience it usually the other way around.. Personally, I won't blame any cop for drying out **** for as long as they can, I am sure they have several tools at their disposal for doing this.

Would you kindly like to elaborate on this? The international community is not single actor, you know. How about the standard refugees vs unique "Palestinian refugees" definition in the world? Which I see as purely political move to create pressure over Israel. Politics aside, the problem is that over the decades, instead of helping the refugee population to assimilated into their new surroundings, instead they created a never ending problem, that have been festering for years creating new generations of "refuges". A welfare class that drinking billions of UN money in refuge camps(iirc they received far more than what they lost in assets and far far more than Europeans got after ww2) and with help of all the media attention, its almost as if they believe that they are only people who have been wronged, forgetting their own involvement or that for perspective Israel had as much Jewish refugees from Arab lands, only with less whining. IMO for the Palestinians this has also backfired, because with time their political bargaining chip, became apolitical chain, their leaders can't afford to backdown which will make him weak in the eyes of the people, especially in light of their internal conflict with Hamas in gaza, but neither them or Israelis can afford this to be anything other than symbolic. I am not certain what are you addressing here, because I haven't touched on that, my point was about how a biased person characterize this situation i.e. ignoring one side of the conflict as if its a vacuum and compromise shouldn't be made on both sides, by who he defines as far-right(compared to Palestinians some of his choices are are almost leftist), by his interpretation of who is interested and overall his "summary" which IMO frankly insulting after that speech about complexity of the situation. That just strawmen mouthwash... The Palestinian elections were never put to question. Here read again what I said: We were talking about the Peace process i.e. willingness\ability to find solution and compromise between the Palestinians and Israel. Other than referencing Rostere selective "stance taking" on nationalism\etc, and his POV twisting reality about who is willing. The problem that I highlighted was that there are two Palestinian entities(Hamas/Gaza,Fatah/Westbank), that do not recognize each other. so the Palestinian Representative on behalf of all the Palestinians, barely represent half of them. As well as hinting that Hamas policy/actions are much more than usual comments/crap you can find from far-right nuts, negotiation posturing and position improvement in every conflict on all sides. p.s. I am really not surprised that Israel demand guaranties. Following a short lived democratic process, the fallout of giving autonomy to Palestinians, resulted in an armed coup(a conflict resolution with guns if you wish) among the two Palestinian political parties and couple of hostilities among Israel and Gaza(though their negotiations are with Westbank group :wako: )

Interesting, because I thought that you had a little nationalistic streak, grasping at straws since the discussion over equipment and better training. Implying that Russian army is better because its built on conscript army, that USA/UK armies aren't professional, immoral and only good against small backward 'Stans'(even though coalition invasion of Iraq was a perfect contrast to yours shame in Chechnya). So no propaganda, at best little hyperbole for your sake. I intentionally, used your example of Israel to get my point across, without you being distracted by your passion to the subject. I assure you that many Israelis would fill and assume as you do after reading that: for the most of the war Israel had more people fighting force, more weapons, the initiative and their victory was due to large part because the arabs had no unified command, poor planing and separate goals and few other things about British intelligence estimate etc.. However, the intent is not to diminish their accomplishments, I think it was an amazing victory, regardless the point that I was making is that "every country has an ethos", its purpose is not historical details, but to inspire people, in their case its the story of the little guy who stood against the bigger guy and won. Now, do you see where I was going with this concerning Russian Ethos about its soldiers spirit and its army strength? btw its not really unique, many nationalistic, "closed", third world country in your vicinity, has similar notions though in your case the sacrifice during the great patriotic war gave wings to its own myth.

^ Ohhh here you go again... For the purpose of conversation right-wing/left-wing makes no difference, a radical is a radical, you can't reason with one. As for my opinion of you, it was solely based on your post here, on this page. Though, I wondered if I am to waste my time and go over all the whole thread, will i find similar spontaneous "firm stance" taking regarding the Palestinians as well? or only when its inline with your POV.. It doesn't mean that what you posted isn't factually true, only that in the context of this thread topic, it read as obsessive nitpicking that, completely and utterly lacks perspective e.g. even if your was right that "that tolerance and pacifism in Israel is pretty much going down the ****ter", it is still heads higher in every way imaginable than anything you'll find in the Palestinian/Arab arena(and more likely to be a symptom shared by both) Speaking of your POV. Reading this(snip of the rest of your post below) and other post on this page: It seems like your idea of this "very complex situation" simplified to blaming it all on Israeli, while the Palestinians are being innocent by standers, who just want peace and your help. In the picture you paint, the Palestinian are kept being associated with terms such as: "peace", "left, "Open for peace.. current leader is very much interested in constructive talks.. several smaller Palestinian parties.. even more progressive". Even Hamas, basically your run of the mill religious fundamentalist, militaristic group, who govern Gaza, since it took it over by force, gunning down their political rivals in the streets. A separate Palestinian entity, who doesn't recognize Palestinian authority in west bank, PLO role as the official UN representative of the Palestinian people or the peace efforts(other than gaining more land). Whose charter equates nationalism to a religious creed and state they will not rest until complete annihilation of Israel, who had no qualms over targeting population centers and their state building is basically based on hate and hatred.(investments, schools, media even terrorist summer camps for kid..) You simply describe as "slightly less friendly toward" a solution! Though immediately contrasting them with Israeli who prefer no kind of solution.(as if the Israeli minority in the west bank who will have to abide by any Democratic decision is in anyway comparable to hamas ) While in your post Israel associated with right-wing(or rather always "far"-right). Based on your political "expertise" they are anti-peace, who can't conduct serious or constructive peace discussions. A lot more about their "far"-right, linking with apartheid, mentions of Jewish terrorist, of Israeli human rights violations, intolerance in general and racism and unsympathetic with Christian minority in particular (I think I got most of the negative associations that you manged to cramp in your stance taking) Soo.. I hope I am reading this out of context( e.g. you got carried away with your argument with Walsingham or something), but from a bystander POV the picture your posts paint is come off completely biased, not as in lack of perspective, but as in WTF are you talking about?! and I haven't even started with your assessments of the situation and convenient poll data.

That guy that stands besides him, looks very much like him.. I wont be surprised if its a honorary writer title as a favor to his relative, so that they can get more attention to this project.

come on guys, its pretty obvious that by "Dark Post Apocalypse" he meant dark and gritty realism.. uhm.. Fargo's brainwashing campaign? I don't think he did anything that others before didn't do, he just said good ol' RPGs, fallout and ranted about big publishers, and you said shut up and take my money without reading the fine print on what the project entails and now you are disappointed that Wasteland 2 is successor to Wasteland and not a disguise for the "real" fallout 3. I agree that compared to some 3D games or "isometric" games like fallout(or eternity turns out), Wasteland2 doesn't look that good. But, IMO they delivered what they said they will within the confines of their budget. As for East-Europeans game, I bet that Chinese developers pays even less for developers time..

@Sensuki. No, I haven't read your post in that questionnaire thread, as I told/hinted you before the world doesn't revolve around you, and I really don't care that you haven't been following this thread and decided to start a new thread and assume that people read it.. so I will appreciate, clarification on your part without snide remarks referring to other threads. Also I don't have a lot of time to post, if it seems to you that I tend to disagree with your post more then usual and its not the issue above or related to you being a very passionate user, who tend to be vocal about many thing you perceive as issues(seeking attention from devs?). Then probably because I find your post disagreeable. In this case, I was annoyed to waste time reading many post about how we discuss meaningless things, many vague notions about combat stats, power gaming and Josh, with finally actual suggestion(that you just said that you don't even like!) that IMO didn't established that something is broken, nor improved upon it as I summarized and explained. So instead of inventing personal issues, simply make good arguments or ignore. Personally, I find Constitution(Stamina) to be the most inferior attribute, because I don't understand how it works, have they changed the way stamina/health equal polls work? or will it effect stamina regeneration i.e. in combat only useful to Fighter and afterwards meaningless because you can simply wait it out... As for your assumption about Perception(critical damage). You said it yourself Josh want to make a balanced system, so is it possible that you haven't considered how abilities or some other aspect of the game work? maybe they end up with changing the attack resolution shift(which is how I assume the critical defense ability work)

I agree. The problem that we don't know many of the design/lore aspects and because of that in many cases we jumping the gun. Unless I am mistaken, what you suggest is that: 1. Defense stats won't be derived from attributes, instead we'll be able to distribute defense points as we wish. Because you believe its limiting. 2. Replace 'Critical Damage' with 'Action Speed', because even though you stated that josh design goal is balance, you believe that 'Critical Damage' is inferior to the others stats. As far as Defense stats, IMO the current system makes more sense and more balanced then what you suggest. Also keep in mind that attributes along with class only determine your initial defense stats, after that you'll be assigning defense points each level where ever you want. Also class have unique passive abilities they can choose from, that you gain through experience and make your character more distinct. As for 'Critical Damage', I am not certain we know enough about abilities to make such statements. While your suggestion to replace it with 'Action Speed' might brake some aspect of the game, if I understand correctly the whole aspect of the no class limit with armor/weapons is balanced around Action Speed(weight speed penalty). * which IMO is the right way to go, our attributes, can take us so far,

It's depends from for wht army is needed for you. If for invading of small backward 'Stans - yes US army is better ( network of bases and especially designed for this task weapon, mercs dont ask questions). If for protect of Homeland - Russian army is better, nobody can't attack Russia ( in other words same result as US army do ), but price is extremely cheaper. Maybe.... You see every country has an ethos. Going with your example above about Israel, theirs is their independence war, which is equated with David vs Goliath story(small guy wins the big foe), which has some truth to it true(at least until the first cease fire) but by large not very historical. Same here with Russia, over the years the developed the Myth of the Russian soldier spirit, that crushed the nazis and can do anything. Though its more like a tradition of incompetence and never ending excuses, where the mighty Russian always being raped, the Russian soldier is expandable and victories come by brute force. Like they were raped in the winter war, in ww2(thanks to external help they managed to keep it from becoming a route and eventual turning the tides), in Afghanistan and that shameful preformance in Chechnya. "Mercs dont ask questions" - If you mean that the motivation behind wars is not always as noble as it plays on the news, I agree, its media era and everyone does it, including Russia. But if you imply that professional armies such as US army are immoral compared to Russian army, considering Russian record all I can give you is Honestly, when ever I see puttin talking about human rights, its like: Russia army is good, because unlike French, US, Israelis, they don't give a **** about costly precision weapons, they just go with brute force(because against crawbar(lom) there is no counter move) and they are big enough and strong enough so that no one speaks out too loud. Also conscript army in nation with nationalized news don't ask questions either, because they are told the answers.

What does "mature" mean, anyway?
Mor replied to Endrosz's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Spot on. If people took closer look, they would be amazed at the ideas, themes and influences behind most games that they will dismiss as action crap. That because as Sharp said, there is a big difference between a design theme in the background and actually being able to explore it in a mature way. -
Its hard to follow up those threads, but I really hope you are not suggesting that Russian conscript army is better than USA army(in anything other than potato gathering) Btw iirc the arab countries surrounding Israel also has/had conscript armies, so your example fall short.. also Israel victories attributed to the arab bickering.

I think that what Turkish Islamic party did to their secular top army brass(journalists and opposition lawmakers) is more of an Old School clamp down then NWO
