  1. No, the ability to thrown money away in this day and age and then forgetting about it doesn't make you a "hardcore" fan at all. Just a fan. There is a definitive difference of how much people are looking forward to the game between people who actually bother to keep up with the development, to people who don't even remember they backed it. It's common sense.
  2. Titan Quest is pure hack-and-slash game (why is it still called RPG is beyond anyone) which is all you can look forward to if the devs decide to step into the console world. They've already done that before in fact. I'm not suprised that you don't remember Dark Alliance series which was the second attempt to bring BG to consoles. The lesson from PS1 fiasco was learned and this time the game was turned into just another hack-and-slash to accommodate. And this is precisely why cRPGs should stay cRPGs. Exactly! Titan Quest was a hack and slash, i played a demo of it and it played absolutely nothing remotely close to IE games. It had an isometric view, that's about it. You simply can't control a 6 companion party with a controller effectively as you can with a mouse. I don't even know what you are trying to say here Falkon. Others can design console games however they want, that doesn't mean this one has to be as well. The backers funded this game because it was specifically said it would feel like an IE game designed for the PC. Not because they want a Diablo clone. It's absolutely NOT the same. I hated Titan Quest And i don't want Eternity to play anything like it. I want to be able to control a party of characters and command them tactically, than to have a button mashing fest and all other companions beside me just fighting on a.i. I don't know why you're trying to turn the IE type gameplay in to a Diablo type game. This is not what was advertised and that is not what everyone paid for.
  3. Got an idea, maybe the dragon could be like the secret final boss of the game? Like Akuma was in SSFT2, that sort of thing, you would have to find it. I think DA Origins had Flemeth that was maybe stronger than the final boss? I can't remember. I know skyrim has some kind of dark knight you can fight at level 70 or something. I think that idea is used mainly in JRPGs, i don't remember seeing it in many western games. Although it doesn't have to be quite like that, i think a secret boss that's stronger than the main antagonist of the game would be a cool design. And it could kind of make an excuse why such a powerful creature is already in the first game. Perhaps even give you a dragonslayer flag that could be used in a sequel, for some extra conversation if you import the character from the first game.
  4. Although i remember them saying that it would have a slow progression, we have already seen dragons in the first game and there's an expansion coming after that even before the sequel, so i wonder what their goal really is. But i can understand why they already put high level monsters in the game, because there's no guarantee that there will be a sequel. It will entirely depend on the sales once it's released.
  5. Yeah.... you're pretty much alone here, on that one. No none here's being racist. And i urge you to look up a comedian named Reginald D. Hunter on youtube where he talks about middle class white people like you, who think everything is racist. Maybe it will help you stop being such a socially nervous, politically correct, ironical nazi. Plus he can make you laugh. Going to bed, work in the morning.
  6. I do.But that doesn't mean others have to as well. Like gay people. Wow. For once, I am lost for words. And thus prove my point.
  7. I do. But that doesn't mean others have to as well. Like gay people.
  8. Yeah i read it and it makes no sense. You can say the exact same statement about gay people. "A gay male sees all women as the "female" sex i.e. members of a group, rather than individuals whom you may or may not find sexually attractive." I think you're trying to take the moral high ground for no reason whatsoever.
  9. That's a pretty loaded statement. Are you saying he is required to feel sexual attraction to black women or that makes him racist? Does that mean that all gay men/women are sexist? Are you saying that a gay man is required to feel sexual attraction to women or be called sexist? It's a sexual preference
  10. Probably 3rd week, since the work before the holidays AND after is very slow and they probably didn't prepare anything beforehand.
  11. Chill down, the probability of them making this a console game is very close to 0. They simply don't have the money at the moment. The developers have in many different interviews stated that the whole point of this project is to make a low budget pc game intended to be played as IE games did, with a mouse and click. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-07-05-project-eternity-as-a-series-could-run-for-eternity From what i gathered, only if it is very well received by the public when it comes out, a publisher might show up that will offer a lot of money for a sequel. Only then, the sequel may or may not get ported to consoles as well.
  12. Although it does have a 77% "yes" rate, this is only from the hard core fan base, that regularly come to the forums to check for updates. Only about 1,700 ppl voted here, while the initial kickstarter had 73,986 backers.
  13. There wont the multi-classes but there will be talents that you can distribute for each class so that you can play more in the direction of other classes. For example you can make a mage that's good with melee weapons and can wear armor however he will be missing some of the special abilities of a fighter that make them much more dangerous in close range.
  14. I don't like the sytem where you get a penalty for every bonus you pick, because that never works on your first playthrough. You don't know how useful your bonus will be in that game, so it's better to not chose anything at all or you may end up even weaker than normally not chosing anything. If i take a lockpicking bonus with some kind of penalty attatched and the game has only a few locked boxes in the game, or if there is not actually anything useful for your type of play or your type of class in those boxes you will come out worse than not choosing anything. Same goes for certain type of feats like in fallout where you attack 20% faster but you miss 20% more often, won't actually help new players as you usualy dont know the mechanics well enough for it to be of any use to you and you may end up in worse position than if you picked nothing because you're wasting more bullets with that feat.
  15. Well if i remember correctly Sawyer or some other developer said there wont be any mechanic in the game that requires you to to use a special type of weapon to kill, so you can cross out that idea.
  16. Can somebody tell me what this coockbook from Tim even is? I saw it in the addons you can buy but i have no idea what it contains.
  17. i sort of wish i could upgrade my pledge. Not extra addons, but the actual kickstarter rewards. Right now you have to buy a completely new pledge. Maybe they could allow pledge upgrades to be funneled in to the new stretch goals also, if they make them. That would be nice.
  18. Does anyone know if traps will be triggerable by monsters?
  19. Indeed, i also remember that one of the selling points was that it would be a game designed specifically for PC, although they probably meant keyboard and mouse, since the Mac and Linux version will also be made.....i think.
  20. Probably druid, will see when there's more information about them. As far as i know they will be a hybrid class that can shapeshift to help in melee or cast spells from a distance. Kind of perfect for first playthrough since i don't know what i will prefer more.
  21. I like a bit of dungeon crawling, but i hated icewind dale's approach where most of the game was crawling through them. I will try to finish it but i hope the content does't take a huge portion of the game. And i like the approach where you return after each few levels, mainly because i think that spending too much time in it will make it incredibly tidius. I still cringe everytime i go to do watcher's keep because i know i'm going to be there for a long time, since it's pretty high level and the great xp you get there just doesn't want to make you stop.
  22. That will happen one way or another, because there are 9 companions currently planned and there are 11 classes. The stretch goal that the developers proposed here, will be for the 3 extra companions that are missing the quota of 1 companion per class. Meaning we will have only 1 companion for each class, even if we reach the stretch goal. But there will be a way to generate a companion with any class you wish and add them to your party later in the game, however these generated companions will most likely have no personality.
  23. What are we suppose to take away from that conversation? One is just going "hurhur boobies" The other was so mad about the controversial sex, ignoring the fact other people make comics AND games with murder, mutilation, flailing, hanging, torture, decapitation and cannibalism, with equal lack of excuse for it being there.
  24. But can you name examples of series that did not get ported to consoles and got better. In the last decade or so. (meaning BG - > BG2 doesn't cut it) Because I can't actually, I think the need to simplify gameplay and improve visuals is something that's hardwired on all company men. Total War series is one example where pretty much all the developement effort is spent on all the wrong things. I assume you mean only sequels of the games that existed before? Starcraft 2 Warhammer 40000 (multiple games) Civilization 5 Age of Empires 3 Europa Universalis 4 Simcity 4 Dota 2 Crusader Kings 2 Yeah it's hard to find series that still exist and are still pc exclusive but i only looked at the real-time/turned based strategy games I'm sure there are more in other genres i forgot.
