Better Vietnam war game.
in the case of WW2 America did indeed sell cheap weapons to England .. for land, England gave up some colonies and gave up some rights and claims to US for alot of ships .. but it was in the best interest of US to keep England in power! because Germany would eventually try to conquer America if they took all of Europe .. I mean Hitler was insane!! he would probably want to conquer the entire world for his "living space" as he callled it .. and Japan also threatened America's little puppet 'The Phillipiens' (or how ever you spell it) who gave alot of natural resources to America.. and the pact they made divided The World up into 3 sections .. Europe (and maybe America) for Germany, Africa and the Middle East for Italy and all of Asia for Japan .. ca of course .. I can't remember how it was exactly! but I fail to see how that is a threat Laozi? that was already established, now the 3 powers just had formalized it on paper! But at the end of the war The Allied grinded Dresden to dust with heavy bombs, and fuel for the fires.. there were no military presence in the town, only industry .. almost the entire population of the city was killed .. they even allowed the Germans to utterly destroy one of England major southern cities, because they couldn't reveal that they had taken the 'Enigma' decoder .. So they didn't do 'the right thing' .. they did what was necessary! and then not to mention the fact that America dropped 2 nukes (just so that it would seem they had more) over Japan, instead of risking an invasion .. killing thousands upon thousands of civilians! women, kids and men .. so there is no 'holy crusade' in war .. it all about who is willing to do what's necessary!

Total War
I've been wondering the same thing! I have been a big fan of the series ever since Shogun .. Since we have covered both Japanese (asian) and European history I think they will look for something else! perhaps a Middle Eastern game next time? focusing on Egypt, Mespotania, maybe Persia or India, or some of the other oldest cultures? It would be a shame if they made a game with a timeperiod after the inventions and widespread of gunpowder .. the weapon of focus should be melee, not guns .. since seeing 5.000+ soldiers/horses charging down a hill is more fun than 100 shooting each other up! at least for me .. Yes those were my ideas as well .. they would seem to be the most logical step! graphic wise, well you won't believe how crummy those 2d blocks actually look compared to Rome TW's 3d rendered units .. :D gameplay wise .. I know quite a few who likes Shogun and Medieval much much more than Rome! So I would say yes it's worth playing, because it really is a great game which still has alot to offer! like Monte Carlo explained .. and Shogun is great as well, and should be experianced! they have alot of very funny clips showing how your assasins kill a target (or fail) .. which I thought was a shame that Medieval didn't include!

Better Vietnam war game.
oh but it's okay to make money on a WW2 game where the exact same thing happened .. but only for the german soldiers .. because it's been 60 years? because you won? because the germans who fought in the war weren't really humans? you weren't exactly the nicest people in that war either, but as Churchill so elequently put it "History is going to be kind to me, as I intend to write it!" it's never 'alright' .. no matter what war! but that won't stop the games from being made .. and ignoring the issues won't sovle anything either! so why not just make something out of it instead? I play both Vietnam and WW2 games .. and I always keep in mind, the millions who perished in both wars, on all sides! and I take the games as a lesson, a lesson and a reminder of those who came before me, and fought for my freedom and my rights!

Gonna have $100 to blow...
"buy a present for yer wife" = best advice so far! but better yet, buy me a decent dinner! I've been living on rice for the last fortnight .. :'( seriously though, when I get some extra cash I just go downtown and look around .. follow my instincts and buy whatever my intuition tells me! it usually turns out to be a good investment ..

What is your prefered character type?
I like to play a zealous religious type .. like a crazy druid, cleric or mage.. Mostly I dislike combat and focus on a more diplomatic kinda character (even if I know there will be alot of combat) because that feels more natural to me .. and I like playing with a disadvantage (being old, cripple, mentally ill .. what ever).. guess I'm a very anti-powergamer..

nothing wrong with those views .. a combination of already established philosophies .. but this one could be a little dangerous: "What is good and what is evil? The evolutionary mechanism of natural selection makes an implicit distinction between "good" or "fit" situations (those which survive in the long term), and "bad" or "unfit" ones (those which are eliminated sooner or later). Therefore, we might equate good or higher values with anything that contributes to survival and the continuation of the process of evolution, and evil with anything that destroys, kills or thwarts the development of fit systems." so thereby homosexuals are evil, so are anyone else not fit for evolution (mentally ill, the sick, handicapped etc.) ...

I don't believe in any kind of religion (that includes science).. since they are all made by humans, and they (humans) have a tendency to be quite erroneous! but nonetheless .. religion is a fascinating subject, when taken with the same amount of significance as any other fairytale (again including science).. especially because you see how fabricated it all really is, when you start making cross-references to other close religions ..

sad if I don't believe 100% in science .. why so? do you believe they have all the answers? they may strive for perfection of knowledge, and that is commendable, but they are hardly there yet .. true science is unimpeachable ehh .. no! we don't even know if any theory is right .. sure it seems like it we have some of the questions right .. but it's still just speculations! so to say that it is flawless!? we are standing in an endless void with nothing but a single torch .. and you are saying that we can guess everything right but looking at the wierd shapes in the darkness?

H.R. 418
A guy came up to me in a bar this other day (this is not a joke) .. and said "the world will end in 5 months, it will start in America" .. maybe he wasn't as mad as I thought at the time!

no that is true .. for now .. But someday that will hardly be a problem (at least I would guess, if I believed it to be true)! There doesn't seem to be any room for "free will" anywhere .. even if a few strange particles behave unexpectedly .. which is why I don't believe 100% in science either ..

ahh .. but have you really read the chaos theory?? it states that there is an underlying order to chaos.. the only way we can describe it is "chaos", but that is simply because so many things are happening at once that we cannot forsee it! just because things are non-linear, does not mean they are unpredictable .. but you are right about Quantum Mechanics.. since that is the studies of non-deterministic systems! Still .. it seems likely that everything is following the rules of the universe.. even us!

^ "Time Travel to the future and back. This would prove to me that everything is pre-determined and god must exist for that to be possible." not at all .. If you believe heavily in science you should also believe in a predetermined future .. since everything in the universe follows a mathmatical pattern and physical laws .. so given enough knowledge, and according to currrent theories, we should be able to forsee the future if only had strong enough computers!

What era do most of your favorite titles come from
Ahh.. so many great titles .. spanning over my entire life! Used to play "Defender of the Crown", "Supermario 3" or "Turtles 1/2" on the good old Nintendo .. I still have it, and play it more often than games on my PC .. :D but some of my favorite games are from the late 90'es .. especially during the end of the 'space-sim era' .. of course there are a good number of great titles from both before and after that 'era' .. but that was when I played the most and when games where most interesting to me..

Let's Myers-Briggs ourselves!
I was a bit dissapointed about that too .. nothings better after a good day of idealistic healing, than to simple relish, both mentally and physically, in the blood of innocents! I'm sure Lisa Kudrow, and especially Calvin, would agree on that!
