Female Romance option SUCKS!
This threads been a real eye opener into the psyche of female gamers. well, you'd be suprised at how 'machist' women can be .. (yeah I know that was a contradiction with an invented word), never underestimate a womens sexual drive!! they tend to be 10x more 'dirty' (talking about speach here! ) than guys when they get in the mood ..

Idle thoughts on the word "Terrorism"
from a military perspective it was very necessary to drop the second bomb .. if you drop one, it's quite clear you have a very serious weapon in your hands, and should be feared .. if you drop two, the same applies, but it seems like you have enough to spare to drop as many as you want! hence it would be very smart to surrender to you, since other nukes would be following .. even though the US didn't have more than the two at the time .. but Japan didn't know that..

Rome Total War: Total Realism Mod
Just installed 5.3 and no crashes or any stability issues.. My biggest shock was the size of the map! not only did they add a whole (big) new area, but they even made the excisting landmass much wider .. and all the cities they added! Having Roman general units composed of patrician Triarii spearmen as opposed to flexible heavy cavalry is a bit of a culture shock! yes that takes some serious getting used to! but then the Roman General unit was a very powerful little sucker .. and able to completly turn the tide in early battles with a single flanking motion.. not now! + all the new historical battles they added .. all in all .. a must have for any Rome:TW fan! (who wants a bigger challenge)

Man mauled in gruesome chimp attack!
well in my mind 'mr average joe' wouldn't survive the encounter .. but mr studied-martial-art-for-some-time or boxer-joe would at least have a chance .. if you apply tactics and the use of any material nearby I think you have a 40/60 chance of taking down the evil monkey ..

well it's the series of evolutions and revolutions I was thinking about! just in my time it seems to go fast .. from bulky big computers and TVs to flatscreens and very hightech machinery all around .. such as miniature mobilephones, laptops and the likes .. and if I think it's going fast now, what won't I think in the next 20 years of my life!

Man mauled in gruesome chimp attack!
I must say .. I'm with kumquatq3 on this one! in an all out fight of desperation I think a human can take down a chimp.. I mean we will use anything at hand! pick up a rock and bash the poor sucker 'till it stops moving! when it's chewing your arm (which you normally pull up to defend your face) it will leave it's entire face open for an attack! and a sharp rock can do terrible damage.. and when the adrenaline is pumping you won't really feel the pain .. but if the chimp catches you off-guard, then your dead!

Rome Total War: Total Realism Mod
in my very first play I was suprised that the greeks where in southern Italy .. when they then decided to visit me, in a very 'friendly' way, with a couple of elephants and enough Hoplites to literally walk over me (and this was after 2 minuts or so) I kinda lost .. in my next game the exact same thing (the two Gaulish armies) happened to me .. but I guess I'm a wierd that way .. I found it absolutely great! I like having to fight for my very exsistence (in a game)

As for the 'net, you're probably right with the 10-16 demographic having it around pretty much their entire lives. At the oldest they were like me when I got my first video game. I don't really recall much of a wait before the first mass produced home PCs and the advent of the Internet. I went from playing X-Com on my old 286, to hitting the BBSs and one of my all-time favorite games, Trade Wars, to going online for the first time in a little over 5 years. This of course may just be my alcohol (and other intoxicants) befuddled memory playing a few tricks on me. (let that be a lesson to the youngins, all things in moderation and you should have a happy, healthy, and mostly gap-free memory ). There may not have been much online gaming yet but there was a whole lot of games out there nontheless for the 16-24 crowd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes it's funny looking back and seeing how fast it actually went .. Just thinking that in our parents time it was TV that was the big-new-thing .. and telephones in grandparents time! I mean what will it be like in 10-20-30 years?? I can't even imagine ..

I like single player just fine
^ I like the fact that you refer to 'humans' as an entirely different entity! but yes it's a big difference to play with other people! but you don't need internet for that .. do a LAN party!?

Is Battlefield 2 going to rock?

Rome Total War: Total Realism Mod
I'm having some annoying stability issues .. where the game crashes to my desktop once every hour or two! But I *really* like the mod! therefore I won't uninstall it, it is the game I had hoped the original would be .. the map is much bigger, the game is harder! it's a great mod! and finally! I can play ALL of Rome instead of just one of the families! but damn it takes a serious effort to secure the Italian peninsula!

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?
I have a bunch of friends who are dropping books offhere all the time, they are all addicted I guess! so it's hard for me to remember them all, let alone mention them! I just read Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, which was actually, to my suprise, quite a good read! some of the conclusions are rahter far-fetched from time to time, but with a good deal of suspended belief, it's a fine book! but one of my all-time favorites must be James Joyce's Ulysses! and two books from a Danish author .. Carsten Jensen - Jeg har set verden begynde (I witnessed the beginning of the world) and - Jeg har h

My Gripe on Influence
I can't say I agree. Evil characters should be adept liars and masters of deception, unless they happen to fall into the all too familiar 'dumb evil' archetype that runs rampant in far too many games. As such, working the system to gain the trust of NPCs is less powergaming than it is fully immersing yourself in the role of an intelligently evil PC... at least that's how I justify it to myself <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and I wasn't arguing that .. that just isn't the case in this game! here you either play pure DS or LS, since going gray is rather futile.. and yes you do have the option of taking your LS companions down the DS road, but as we have all seen, this doesn't affect dialouge, so my bet it's more for show than actual role-playing reasons .. to sum it up .. the point of the game, imo, is to alienate those who you don't have the same alligment with (which will in turn boost their own and make them more DS or LS) since they will follow 'character' through the entire game that way .. and to influence your own and make them even more goody or baddy..

What would you have the next 'Darth' be?
bah .. Darth Zoidberg would spray Force Ink on them all .. no saving throws allowed .. and scuddle away while the victim claws their skin off! wuuub wuub wuub wuub

My Gripe on Influence
^ both yes and no .. I miss the fact that it worked in KOTOR1 and you didn't need to 'work the system' to learn about vital plot info .. but that said it left very little for replay value .. in theory KOTOR2 was a great system, which allowed you to influence different characters in different playthroughs, but as Darth Frog so elequently said "There are various ways to build a solid influence system but this is not one of them."

The forum
Actually it's LA shapeshifters who have taken the identity of all Obsidian employees! and now LA hackers are taking down the site .. byte by bite!

Things you wish a KOTOR2 character would say......
have everyone break into a dancing musical act .. that would be seriously wierd! ^_^
