^ my thought exactly! but the reason why NWN felt less like RP than BG to me, was because of the poor story and bad writing .. BG felt engaging and NWN felt annoying! I still think you can make a good RPG with AI controlled partymembers .. by implementing some of the above features like the will save etc .. the henchmen of NWN felt very lifeless to me .. and felt more like hollow partymembers, and I can live with hollow partymembers if I can control them .. (like playing single multiplayer in BG)

^ well that's how it should be in theory .. but that's hardly the actual case! We've seen countless times how politicians have been allowed to direct war .. and while soldiers may not need convincing in the same degree as civilians, brainwashing them with the label "justified revenge" works better than "do it or I shoot you for disobeying an order!" .. and making the public go into a frenzy and pratically demanding actions will allow the military all the room to manouver they want! I mean just look at Vietnam, they lost a lot simply because of public opinion!

since when did you develop a Sun Tzu attitude? :D but revenge is a pretty useful tool that many leaders can use quite effectively .. no-one questions atrocities if it's water over the dam .. because they want revenge! so you have free hands to cripple the enemy as you see fit .. I would sat revenge is pretty relevant in war!

well we can make a bet about how long it takes for the survivor to commit sucide later!

well when the Allied bombed Dresden they dropped far more bombs than were necessary .. they litteraly kept bombing the city along the edges to build up a kinda furnace effect, where the vacuum left by the rising hot air in the middle would pull the fire all around the city inwards.. the heat was strong enough to melt the iron and bricks in houses .. if that's not cruel I don't know what is! but then the Germans had done the same against them, so at that time 'atrocity' became replaced with 'proper revenge' ..

well the chimp has an advantage then .. since it has better natural weapons than a human! so I wouldn't exclude what is at hand in a fight .. but I think we can agree that no man-made weapons are allowed!

right-o! well it must be an eviroment where neither have an advantage .. whatever weapons are found at the respective area are at their disposel! only a week of mental (and some physical) preparation are allowed on kumquatq3 side .. and the Chimp will be well fed and allowed to swing around all it want! no drugs, no stimulants! sounds fair?

I never got very far .. completed the city and went around the area .. and then got bored and uninstalled the game .. (and that was a couple of weeks ago, because I had forgotten how lame I thought it was when I played it the time it came out)

I utterly hated the single player of NWN .. and the fact that I couldn't control my other party-member! + I hated the graphics .. which made me hate the entire titel!

huh? you don't get a number .. you just get "influence:succes" or "influence:failure" .. and when you have max influence, the former doesn't appear any longer.. even with actions that would give such a response!

maybe you are thinking about the different female ending in KOTOR1 ?? I don't know much about it, but it's something with a different love ending with Carth .. I'm not entirely sure what it's about! in any case, that's a mod which unlocks it .. not some extra content on the TSL DVD ..

a funkt/freaky true story .. is that 2 different people, on two different occasions, have told me that the world will end in 8 years! with a minor war between Europe and USA .. that will cause the rest of the world to collapse in chaos! first said 9 years, the second said 8 one year later .. I find that really strange! and I hope it's some kind of joke someone is playing on me..

okay let's specify the rules here .. kumquatq3 will have time to prepare, but only mentally and only physical training! for let's say .. a week .. no weapons are allowed in the "arena", except for what is already lying around in there.. the chimp, will be an average male, (someone find the exact specification on this) .. and kumquatq3 you will have to tell us your weigh height etc! :D now then, what will the "arena" be? a forest? urban enviroment? a zoo? and what would we expect to be lying around in these places?

as long as they put a male brain in there I don't mind .. I wouldn't want my games to freeze up because I didn't tell them I appriciate their company from time to time..

the pliotguy is Atton .. and yeah I remember that part as well on my first playthrough.. but fortunatly I remembered that the devs said something about all of your party-members would be on their own from time to time .. so I always gave them acceptable armour and ok weaponry! but it still took me about 5-6 times to win, since I had upgraded him rather poorly! but then that's not really the devs fault imo, the only reason why you can't beat them is because you've neglected him .. but annoying?? hell yeah!!

well we will never know if it was truely necessary .. but US didn't just send a signal to Japan you know .. Russia and every other power in the world thougt that America had alot of bombs ..
