  1. Yep unlucky timing, a shame giving up based on that imo.
  2. All right, Ill take Guns of Icarus off your hands, want to introduce it to my friend. And pray tell if you want something Shady
  3. Hey, well just add more decimals, we all know that's an indication of precision.
  4. Most were written by kickstarter backers actually.
  5. Genes can only push us so far and hardly beyond an average of "very bright". Computer/Brain melding is gonna develop faster than gene mapping can.
  6. It's a question of scale and sampling bias. There are simply more games being released today, both good and bad.. But there are still many intelligent, difficult and well made games. The biggest and most noticable difference is that Atari's ET would, in todays market, be shipped with massive hype and post release patches.
  7. Devil's advocate, but it's obviously to cater to the open world gameplay. Your character doesn't necessarily know what ghouls are 50 hours in, even if he's been killing them for hours. It's a good idea to have multiple venues for exposition. Just wish it was slightly better of course
  8. There needs to be an arial bombardment option, kill it with no benefit after its shot down.
  9. I'm not seeing any big danger signs to be honest, except maybe feature-creep and crunchtime burnout. They have nailed the different elements fairly well - of course as many point out, writing a good consistent story is gonna be tricky - but the openworld space sim genre is not really known for that, so no biggie. If only they'll allow localized private servers with mods - my god, there would be so many glorious spinoffs. Pot please meet kettle, I'm sure you'll both get along famously.
  10. Andy Serkis confirms Jar Jar is the villain
  11. Helped a buddy out - his former roommate was a hoarder and hadn't paid the rent in 3 months, so now they both got kicked out. He had to pay a huge fines to pick up his stuff. Problem was it had been packed up with the hoarders massive piles of ****.. which we had to sort through to find my buddies stuff. Took 8 hours... Man what a crazy sickness to have.
  12. I suspect in-engine, although in this case that is no to say it can't be done in-game. I just don't think they hammered out the transition well enough yet to show it in-game.
  13. Oh yeah, that reminds me I have Star Wars Jedi Academy as well - that's a fun deathmatch game. I'm up for playing today and tomorrow - I don't have any work etc (yay). I'm in the mood for a shooter/deathmach kinda game or something similar. I have most of what's mentioned in DN first post as well. Never actually played Dungeon Siege 3 that much, but I could be up for a coop there as well
  14. (hilarious, I had no idea there were transvestiteis in GTA V)
  15. So this is gonna be interesting... Gimli has found 'The One Ring'.
  16. I read that as if they didn't realize it was beyond their capability to do Sith Lords in the first place?
  17. In addition to some of those, I'm down with playing; GTA V online Path of Exile Alien vs Predator Borderlands 1 or 2 Magic the Gathering duel of the planeswalker 2012/13 Magicka Tabletop Simulator (Magic the Gathering, Arkham Horror, Hero Quest - basically any board or card game we mod in) - it's awesome My steam handle is the same as my name here, for those who wish to add me.
  18. That's actually a pretty spot on critique for me as well, at least in comparison to their other games. A strength and weakness of the studio to be sure. That they can produce a well made game, but it will lose soul - or they can make a soulful game, but it tends to be a wee bit buggy and wrought with less than optimal mechanics. That said I thoroughly enjoyed PoE and Sawyers direction - and while the game lacked Avellone's madness I was happy to see it didn't lack ambition.
  19. For realz. Also looking forward to it. Please don't spoil this thread too much in the coming days.
  20. We should arrange for some Obsidian game nights over the holidays to distract your brain and make it leave you alone, the L4D matches everyone used to do were awesome. I'm game - I've got some time to kill in the comning week and between x-mas / new years
  21. A friend is doing a showing of the 'Tolkien edit' (the Hobbit trilogy edited down to one ~4 hour movie).. Looking forward to seeing it. Although I'm not a fan of the fact that you have to illegally obtain it, luckily he has personally pumped in the excess of 200$ into the franchise, so at least no one is being cheated Especially that Simon Pegg is writing it. But yeah, it is important that such an iconic franchise is in hands that respect its established lore. That said, the original show was pretty zaney and crazy. Seeing as it is being updated to a contemporary version, they should at least also make it modern crazy, seems they are. As long as they remember to allow the setting to be 'deep' of course.
  22. Yeah it's a shame that poetry is so hard to properly translate between languages.
  23. A danish one, written as a song for a Revue / satirical piece on love and marriage during the WW2 occupation. It's famous for getting through the nazi controlled censorship at the time, as it is a fairly subtle yet clear critique of our willingness to give up freedoms when we are afraid and not standing up for what we believe in. I wish I could translate it all for you, it's a very powerful text. It's called "Man binder os på hånd og mund" / "They tie our hands and mouth"
  24. Wow that was embarrassingly bad. Teenage fan fiction bad. Also, that would mean Ghouls never age and don't need water or food? edit: All right, so I looked it up, because I really couldn't believe that they actually wrote this... and fans are pointing out he might just as well be referring to the Gunners attack on the area and not the Great War, in which case he's been there for a few days/a week.. and not +200 years. Which would make much much more sense.
