I would imagine they wouldn't reveal something like this. I'd also imagine we will get something at the very least comparable. Maybe a sea monster? Who really knows? Maybe Eothas...

I thought this was the case as well. -
Getting some Dread Pirate Roberts vibe from that. "The First Bastard wasn't actually the first bastard at all. He was bequeathed the title from The First Bastard. Who also wasn't the first bastard either... But here is the sword that allegedly did belong to the real First Bastard, who probably stole it from some poor kith who wasn't a bastard at all!"

Pillars of Eternity has a lot going on within it. I find it incredible that they got as much interconnected lore working given the time they had. Me thinks Josh and others had been day dreaming some of these things for a long time! For me I love that it's set in a "New Word." Age of Sail and Colonization and all that. Where old established cultures are confronting complete unknowns, in every imaginable form. Isolation on the frontier, colonial conflicts, lack of or imperfect law of land. Especially since it's exploring this era of history from a fantasy perspective. For me it's just a very fresh setting to experience and I feel I've only just gotten a small taste of it. I also love the idea of man made Gods. The whole setup of them actually being powerful, but also having seemingly abandoned most of kith-kind creates a really interesting dynamic. This contrast between a desire to be free, but also subjugated under a super-ordinate being. And how existing faiths will be shaken. Who knows maybe there are even true gods, or maybe Pillars metaphysics is far more secular. Animancy is sort of presented as a secular pursuit within the world, but is viewed through the eyes of jealousy and superstition by those that ascribe the views of old. Either way it's an incredibly different way to setup the metaphysics of a fantasy world. So how about you?

Looks like Maia and Serafen are having a go, and Takehu is taking the piss at them with Aloth. And yea, Xoti confirmed for chillest! -
An absolutely epic game of our generation has to have sexy chickas. I guess she would have been my type at some point, but now I'd rather talk to Xoti. Guess that category is still covered for me But really, I hate how these sorts of aspects are used to sell games. It always turns the games into (are my fantasies being met) sort of scenario. The devs can never win, and it eats into more meaningful plot endeavors.

I'm excited to find out more about him. I expect great things. Also don't blame him for the lack of dwarves ya goobers. -
Also I do like the idea of a creature that is only knee high. So Beaver works. Wolverine would be cool too. Lynx. I dunno, I'm feeling North American creatures at the moment. But if the game will be more tropical, maybe an Ant Eater, Tapir, whatever they got for us. Fluffle you need to get a scoop on options.

I'm fine with new Godlike being essentially reserved to custom companions. As for the player, I think the existing one's are fine. A greater diversity of appearance is really all that I'd ask for, and it certainly seems like we are getting that. -

With their improved pathfinding, I'd think something like this would be quite possible. One thing I'd like to see, is more environmental play in encounters. In fact, that would be at the top of my list for PoE3 improvements. Expand on how the environment plays into combat. You mean like in Original Sin? I guess, but only partially, Original Sin can get a bit gimmicky when pushing that. When I commented my mind was mostly on traps, and I was thinking of ways to expand Rogues. Then I started thinking of Mortal Kombat and Bioshock. You want to avoid level design where npcs have random explosive barrels lying about. But... I think it would be neat if there were better prospects to setup a killing floor via traps. Where the flow of battle is inverted into more of a kiting maneuver. Perhaps in a way that is dependent on the layout of the environment.

I need a new show that fills the The Office/Parks and Rec void. I might check out the Community, not really sure what that show is about. But I don't see any shows on the horizon that would have the same appeal.
